just started getting these calls about a month ago.  all calls that are not family go to voice mail on my phone.  at least once a week, sometimes more, they call.  haven't had any lost dogs; mine seem to be lost cat alerts.  I just delete them from voice mail.  there was a news report on tv a while back that these people are mostly scammers.  they take the pet owners money, and do nothing. although they will lie to the owner that they have put out flyers, etc., when they really haven't.

Received same call but this is a legit number for lost pets in your neighborhood. We belong to neighborhood watch and the pet they described is her lost pet with her contact information of owner just in case pet is found.

This looks suspiciously like the attempted pick-up of small children by molesters.

So glad I wasn't home to pick up.
I don't pick up numbers that come up as Unknown or Unavailable.

I only pick up numbers I know. All others better leave a message. If they don't then it wasn't important.

Good grief . I know Firefighters that have to ask people when they run form burning buildings if their children have two or four legs. Really?!
I understand your pet is an important family member. But I wouldn't risk a firefighters' life to save my cat or dog.

Thanks to those folks who reported this number.

To Sarah; I understand there is a lost dog in Anartica; perhaps you should go pick it up, send it back by UPS, kick back, and stay a few years!

Message, repeated about five times, regarding a lost cat (description given), last seen in a neighborhood about a mile and a half and across an interstate highway from mi casa. Supposedly, "reward offered," but I couldn't make out the contact # for the alleged owner. A visit to the website revealed the contact info that was garbled in the recording. From the other posts, sounds like this is an attempt to separate desperate pet owners from their $ for enormous profit.

You'd think that a legit service would show as such on CID.

    your neighbor replies to Tom55021
No, because if it was a family member, I'd talk to my neighbors in person, no harass them using some third party. If you are afraid to know your neighbors, perhaps you shouldn't live in that neighborhood.

You're a selfish fool. Just got my first lost doggie call. It did not invade my right to privacy. It is a service that can reunite families with their lost pet. If you're so worried about you privacy maybe you should be fighting for your right to privacy with our homeland security...they're listening to your calls and invading your privacy...your bitching to the wrong group about your privacy rights. You are a very ignorant person. There are so many injustices going on this world that you could be speaking up against. Lost My Doggie isn't one of them.

Ail of my animals are chipped. When found by any agency they will usually check your dog for a chip and you and only you will be contacted not all of your neighbors. I have MS and do not want people calling me for things that do not concern me.
Here is a thought, how does on lose a dog. I have dog for 50 years and never lost my friend!! Take care of your bud..

Had a lengthy message on my voice mail from this company about a lost dog that was not even close to my area! I am sorry as a pet owner I WOULD NOT use this service.  My pets are micro chipped, I have current pics of both dogs and if God forbid they were to get lose I would be out on foot looking and passing out posters! People have gotten lazy with technology! I am sure this site charges a fee for their Robo calling alerts! I have never done business with them nor would I ever so how did they get my number?  I would not put my animals life into a website hands in hopes they would find him/her.  This number 1-877-818-0060 will be blocked from my phone and if it continues to get through I will report it to the Attorney General's office as well as the National Do Not Call Registry! When you call the number back you get a v-mail stating they are busy and to please leave your name and number. That is most likely how they are getting info as well.

Our neighbors lost their dog, or someone took her.  The call said to be on the lookout for the dog, gave her name and breed.  There's also a $300 reward. Our neighbors have our number and we have always been on good terms with them, so we didn't mind this call.  Not sure how to list this under Call Type.  It's not Amber Alert. That's for humans only.

This is a legitimate call about a lost dog.
Wow - some really mean-spirited and hate-filled responders here - Susan, Mary, Terry, et al.
As a responsible pet owner I have dogs and cats - all chipped and neutered.
I would be devastated if one of our pets was lost as I'm sure the owner of this dog feels the same way.
I am not annoyed by this call and unlike some of the responders here, I have empathy for the owners of the lost dog.
I will be on the look-out for this lost dog.
