A happy merchant after answering them!

As a business owner, I believe the best philosophy is to shop around and getting a call from Discount Merchant's changed my life. Last month, a guy named Gary called me up and explained exactly who they were and what they do. Basically they group your processing volume with hundreds of other merchants and the top processors bid on that volume which leads to lower rates.

Then a nice aussie fellow named Charlie broke down my numbers, offered me a better deal and now I saved a whopping 40% on my processing!

There was so much I did not understand about my statement until these guys showed me everything. I was being overcharged and so are most of you all, you just don't know it.

I know we are annoyed by telemarketers and processors but these guys are different. If they call you, send in your statement and you will not regret it. I am so glad they called me and I am glad Gary convinced me not to hang up the phone that fine February day.

To all you workers at DMB, please don't give up! You guys are great! These folks on here are closed minded and if they want to keep being overcharged let them.

    Thanks guys!

let's say me and you go to a pizza joint.. we order 1 pizza pizza.. we get one rate right? you get the cook in the back to cook it up (i like lots of cheese by the way on mine).. anyway, he cooks it up and charges you $10.. you pay the guy and that's that.

but let's say you feel insanely hungry.. so hungry you could eat a horse.. you decide finding a horse to eat is too much trouble..so instead you go back to the pizza shop and order 500 pizzas!! (maybe they even have horse meat pizza somewhere.. but as long as there is cheese!) you will not pay $10 a pizza anymore, right? you will maybe pay like $6 or something.. right?

well that's what we do here! we take your puny little girly volume, put it with a punch of others and suddenly you get a cheaper rate.

    MAKES SENSE, RIGHT?
Good! Now next time someone calls from that number you know what to do..

    annoyed again
Telemarketer who would only speak with the 'owner'. Hate to say but the 'owner' is not the business office and the 'owner' won't be making the business decisions. The 'owner' makes the money, the 'girlie' you just insulted on the phone is the one you wanted to speak with.

What amazes me reading all of these responses is that real business owners gave a cold caller their business info just like that? Hey, I'm going to call tomorrow and ask for your SSN and then take out credit cards in your name.

People! Don't give this info to cold callers! You want better processing rates? Call your processor and say you're moving on. Bingo! Lower rates!

    Nail Salon
I work in a Korean nail salon and answer the phone because I speak perfect English and can communicate with our clients well. I received this call earlier today. It was some guy. Don't know what his name was because all he said before hanging up on me was "hi is Mihae-that means you're Asian. Nevermind." Complete idiot.

    Idiot Alert
This idiot keeps calling me at work every other day. I am deaf, and my phone is a "Captel". I pick up the phone, press "captions" and there is NEVER. EVER. anyone there. I asked a co-worker to listen in today and they said the sound was just 'whistling" like a fax machine attempting to connect. The number IS on the Do Not Call list, so this unscrupulous [***] needs a serious FCC attitude adustment.

Oh it's so nice to know I'm not alone.  I have been getting calls from this company of merchant services for weeks now.  I keep telling them they are not worth my time, nor expense they charge and not to call anymore.  Well they don't listen but just the same they seem to think they can beet what I pay now.  Didn't have the heart to tell them I think not, but I was polite and said if they can beet square's service charge we'll talk.  The hair-ball hung up.  Well now there is a place I want to do business with ...

If what you call is a true professional career, then I need the drugs you are on.  You can't beat the rates I'm on, but you keep on with what you're doing and I'll continue to hang up on your professional career.  One day when your head comes out of the fog you're in, you'll realize what an idiot you really are.

Well I know you're not telling the truth.  If this so-called company saved you 40% man I wonder which company had their hand on your pocket book.  You should think for yourself and do some shopping.  You'll see there are far more better rates out there.  Just saying

What a pep talker this guy is ... ya you should be promoted to be the company spokes person.  How touching ... not!  The real deal is that with sites like these the word it out and your company is feeling the pinch because we the business owners are dropping companies like yours like a bad habit.  Thus the pressure of cold calls, and the pressure that you put on the callers.  I just wonder with all the hang up you get, and the rudeness you receive by being rude yourself, does your company have a direct line to the suicide prevention hot line?  How about a waiting ambulance?

As the old tuna commercial goes "sorry charlie"  But you just keep thinking you are the man in saving people money and us business owners (who can think for ourselves) will continue to drop your service as we move on to more of a friendly service with far more less rates that you'll ever thing on charging.  Man sites like these must really ruin your day ... The fact is a person such as myself really enjoy sites like these because of the heads up we get to make informative decisions on what to do with our money.  If you feel bad about what I wrote here please allow me to give you a number to call ... 800 - 2bad4u.

I'm guessing here that ol' Nick here works for merchant services ... there is no way this person is for real in what he's saying.  If on the off chance you are?  I suggest you shop around ... plenty of services out there who don't charge a monthly fee, statement fee or whatever they call it now.  Just saying ...

I received a call today (at my work; local small business) from 877-822-2928 from a very rude man. He asked to speak with the owner (and knew the owner's name; tho couldn't pronounce it very well). He was selling a credit card processing system. I told him that we have a system in place that ties to our POS system, he interrupted me to say "If you're not the owner, I don't care. I'll call back for her later" and straight hung up on me. I was being very pleasant. What a jerk!
