- TatianaI am so upset at how close I came to becoming a victim of a scam like this. I usually prode myself on being smart but I was desperate to consolidate my bills and better my credit status.
Everything seemed legitimate to me until my stomach got an unsettling feeling when it was time to send the money (to an individual in Ontario, Canada no less!). There was something mentioned that got my attention: If this were a legitimate lender, when you sign and fax back the documents you should have been required to have those documents notarized! Also, banks only accept original documentaion, NOT COPIES!
It really pissed me off to know that there are people and companies doing this to people who are already in bad financial conditions.
I have taken action and I recommend that you do the same. Not only because your personal information has been risked and is now in the hands of scammers but also to prevent other people from going through the same ordeal.

It is ilegal for a company to guarantee a loan over the phone and to request money upfront.
I've also contacted the State Attorney General Office in Rochester, NY at 585) 546-7430 and the Consumer Fraud Dept. in New York at 585) 327-3240.
I filed a complaint and they informed me to contact the Monroe County Office in New York at 585) 428-5151. Any business entity in that county is required to register at this office. If they are not registered here, chances are they are a bogus company. Both the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney Generals Office instructed me NOT TO SEND THE MONEY! This has become a popular scam. Once you wire the money, your chances of ever receiving it back are slim to none. They also recommended contacting the Federal Bureau of Investigations to inform them of what's going on.
Due to the fact that not many people are reporting this company, the Attorney General cannot act until it receives multiple complaints, hence why I would assume the company is still active and able to do business.
Even if you desperately need the money (as i did and still do) you will be worse off if you send money that you don't have to begin with and lose it all. If I would have sent the money I would have been royally screwed!
Then the money can't be tracked back to the company because it was sent in someone else's name...you see where I'm going with this? They can say that you filled out the form inaccurately, or that something happened and then the money is never linked to Eastgate.
Please be wary, trust your gut, and if you have been a victim of this horrible scam, please file to the proper authorities and make sure to put a lock on your credit report as well as contact your local DMV and tell them that your ID/License may have been compromised to prevent further damage.
I hope that this warning has helped you and although you may feel discouraged that you didn't get a loan you had your hopes on, be grateful that you didn't send money that would have been lost forever!

- Debbie| 10 repliesFollow up: Ben Davis just called me he stated that they are registered with BBB in New York, i just tried to pull up BBB in NY with their name, did not find any information. also if they are not registered in your state, DO NOT DO IT, according to FTC they have to be registered in your state in order to do any kind of lending services, I told him on behalf of Americans, they are a scam and fraud, he did not like it, said he was recending his offer because he did not like that i was "disrespectful:" to him, only because i called his bluff.

- Pissed Off In Georgia| 1 replyThe person said their name was James Sullivan and that he was with East Gate Lening Services. He even has a per recoreded messages like a real business to make you think the company is real. After futher investagation of him telling me to send 791.88 in 9 days or the loan would be void and the papers he faxed said the same thing. He tried to assure me that he was a married man and a christian and that his company was real and that the bbb did not know of his company because he is a small business. The bottom line is that Western Union verified that this company and this person is a scam. If anyone call you from this number and says that they are in Rochester N.Y. and that the lenders are overseas. Hang up and call your local authority. Luckily I still have my money.

- ty replies to Pissed Off In Georgiawestern union can't verify noone but the person who receive the payment not the company... There a private company that open there doors for people with bad credit that's trying to get on there feet. The reason you can't find information on them is because they change it to keep down the request your actually lucky if they call you...
- ty replies to mikeYour right, it actually pay's the insurance on the loan so if you decide not to pay, the lender still gets paid by the insurance that way he doesn't loose think about would you give away money without insuring yourself...
- shay| 8 repliesif you received money and no one else has, what did you do that no one else has to get the loan? What information did you get maybe it was a different overall company.

- Lyv9 replies to tyHey, Ty. I don't believe you. You are probably Ben or Jessy trying to make the company look good. Don't believe him guys. And if you are for real, tell us all your details to bring ease to the rest of us. There are no other positive comments on here except yours.
- Rea replies to ty| 4 repliesWhat a croc. Explain your situation on here and then maybe we'll believe you. Exactly what you did who you talked to and why some people got scammed.
- Jen replies to Rea| 3 repliesHey, you guys notice that when you look them up their website comes up now. That's because the heat is on and they want people to believe in them. This company "pseudo company" is only a month old, and it's time for them to get up close out and start as a new company. That's how they work. They scam as many as possible in less than a month and then move on. Look this site in less than a month old. Just think how many didn't look at this website first before getting scammed.

- update-got screwed replies to got screwedThe BBB in New York sent me a letter about my complaint stating that the address that the company is using doesn't exist and that this is a scam. The Canadian government called me because that is where my wire went to let me know that the attorney general contacted them and they made a report about the company. She told me to call money gram and made a complaint and also to make a local police report. Also to call all 3 credit reporting companies and put a fraud alert on my credit and to transfer my bank account. What a pain in the ass! All i was trying to do was to get my first house for me and my kids!
- Maryb replies to Metalguitarist| 18 repliesBen Davis did the same thing I set $1100 to because this guy convinced me that I could get a $7000. I am sure after reading this I will not get the money either. I cannot believe that he convinced me am so easy to convice. There are bad people in this world willing to take peoples hard earned money; without a care for what will happen to the money taken that are for your bills.
