I answer the phones and got this call today. It's the same story they have used for the last four years. "Yes...hello. This is [pause] Janet from the (unintelligible) Devel(unintelligible) Office. Have your company found your new office or are you still looking?" As I have taken this call twice a year for the last four years, I have become increasingly hostile to these people. Today, I yelled at them to take our number off their call lists. When "Janet" told me to just listen as she wasn't selling anything, I told her, "By law, you have to remove this number from your list. Do it now!" When she told me again to listen to her because she wasn't selling anything, I yelled so loudly, they heard me across the office. "Take our number off!" and I slammed down the phone. Then, they programmed their robo call program to call us every 15 seconds for the next 5 minutes. My boss was on the phone with our corporate VP and she wondered what the heck was going on. My boss answered instead of me and they hung up on him too. If you just pick up the phone but don't answer, you can hear the "boiler room" noises of people in the background making these calls. He tried to trace the call and stumbled upon all these pages about this number. If they call back, he will go to our phone company.

Just got 2 calls from same girl - said from Michigan Business Development office.  Told her I couldn't understand her on the first call and she hung up.  Then a few minutes later another call came through on a different business line of my partner.  I said - ya you're the girl who just called me a minute ago..... another Click !

This idiot called yesterday and said she was from the "State of Texas"  I told her she was full of crap and not to call again

then today a guy called from the same number and said he was from "the state of San Antonio"  that a crock.

they wanted to know if and when we were moving our offices.  

I've been getting these calls for 4 years now. Sometimes from the "B.C. Business Development office", more recently the "B.C. Chamber of Commerce." Whenever I ask them for more information, they hang up. I've reported it to the actual B.C. Chamber of Commerce and they said they had received a lot of calls about this scam. They have involved the police and are looking for more information.

2 calls from the state of Illinois business development office this morning. After reading this board last week I know the scam now.  Currently messing with the person who calls telling them I moved already  or are you looking for boy friend.  Always hung up on.

These guys called and claimed to be from the California Chamber of Commerce.  In reality this number is coming from a Data mining Company.  They call and ask if you have moved, verify information, try and get new information, and then sell this data to companies.

A woman called claiming to be from the "Illinois State Government office of business development center" asking where my next office space was going to be. They called three times. After looking them up, I realized it was a scam. On the forth time, I said "I cannot give you that information because you are not from the IL State" and they hung up.

They said the exact same thing to me too.

A person from this number calls at least once a month to ask us if  we are moving. Today she has called in about 40 times in a row.

He starts by saying our company name and address; says he's calling from the State of Florida; SCAM

Spam for sure. Multiple calls over the last week.

Told caller I would not verify business information by phone and released call.  Caller continued to call over 10 times in a row each time using profanity - calling me a B@#$%^ and saying F#$% Y&^.

These type of calls need to be stopped.

Boiler room operation, thick accent, lady told me she was calling from Missouri Economic Counsel. Told her she wasn't, she said she was, told her again
she wasn't and hung up on me. I've received calls like this every few months for years and year. Don't give them any information. I

This company has called my work number every day for over 2 years. From the "Missouri Business Development Office." I always reply, "We are not and have not been looking to move, can you take us off your call list" and then they immediately hang up.  I don't understand the point of this call, they aren't getting any information or yes's from me, why waste their time EVERY day??

'Alberta Chamber of Commerce' my ASS!!!!!! Told them we found a new location, we'll see if they call again. Have been getting 3-4 calls a week for MONTHS!

Caller says they are calling from the business development of whatever state you are located in.  Thick accent, probably not calling from the US.  Asks to verify address and if we are moving.

1-29-2014.  Just received 2 calls from this number within 5 minutes.  The first (male) hung up when put on hold.  The second was an Asian sounding female as reported by others.  Same story, except she was much more persistent than reported above.  Perhaps getting more aggressive?  Be careful.
I assume that she is starting with simple innocuous questions that will lead the gullible into giving more/too much info.  Alternatively, she will look to have you pay for advertising etc. to obtain credit card information.

I got just now a call from this number  sounded like a Philippine woman, stating she was calling from the State of Florida and that she wanted to know if we were...... or planning to move from my old address, well...Red Flag....So I wanted to dig deep to see what came of it, I asked again where and who are you calling for, she gave my business name and again I asked why would the state want to know this, she went on to state that last year they had called same and spoke to us, so I asked what?...last year, ok!...please tell me who spoke to you or anyone else in your organization, tell me....And Click! she hung up the call.....so yes if it sounds like a scammer of some sorts, ....a Scammer it is.....very pro by  hanging up the call when tables are turned!

Scam.  They keep calling here saying they are the Ontario Chamber of Commerce trying to update the database with our business address and contact information.  I noted the area code was not an Ontario number and that we would call in ourselves to update if she could provide a number or website.  She quickly hung up. Big fat effin' liars, all of them.
