    Stop Calling us.
I have plead with them to stop calling as we are going through MAJOR surgery, chemo and more.  I do not need to run to the phone just to get a call from an 888 number that cannot even id themselves.  When I answer they hang up.
If I want anything, I will call them - whoever they are!!!!
Yes, I have registered with the "Do Not Call" list again.

Got the call at 8 pm - during dinner.
It seems to be Discover Card. I have a Discover Card but never use it.
They told me to call "1 800-DISCOVER" when I have the time.
Recently, I purchased a Panasonic phone that blocks calls.
It has already blocked one call tonight from "Telefund."
I'm adding "Discover" to my blocked list.
    No more calls from them!!!

One thing to keep in mind about the Do Not Call program....is that any company in which you do business with or have done business with can call you.  So if it is really from Discover or a company representing Discover and you do have their credit card?  They can call.  You can always request to be removed from their calling list....   We once bought play tickets from the Mark Taper Forum.....so now they call all the time!  (we have done business with them).  I just ignore the caller id.  I suppose one day I ought to just pick it up and request they stop calling.  sigh.....

I use voip at the number being called by 888-204-8943.  With my service I am able to block incoming calls, re-route the calls, do anything you can do with email spam.  Having direct control over my incoming phone calls has been one of the coolest technology changes in my life.  I am no longer dependent on useless government services, phone company services, or any of it.  One downside with voip is the voice quality is not as good as a direct line (wireless) connection.  But the upside - it's cheaper and I can route in incoming garbage to the phone message garbage can.  I can route specific numbers from the voip phone number to my cell phone - therefore I don't give my cell number out only the voip number and only forward those calls I care about.   I am not associated with any voip service just pleased to share an effective way to stop telemarketing abuse calling.

Google voice is a great FREE way to stop these calls from ringing your phone.
Give everyone your Google Voice Number instead of your real number.

he claimed he was from Discover Card, and wanted to help me activate my new card.  I had already done that a month ago..

Not very professional sounding at all.  If it was truly legit, then Discover has some serious management issues in their call center.

I was very suspicious, so I hung up on him.

I always receive calls from this number. I don't pick up since they call while I'm at work. They don't leave a message but they call almost everyday.

when i hit redial, since the 888 number is toll free,  i got "christi" in corpus christi claiming to be from discover.  hung up and hit redial, got myra from corpus christi.  hung up and hit redial, got zachary from utah, would not give town, said he would get fired, asked for supervisor, got andrew, said not allowed to tell name of town.
called the number on back of my discover card, spoke to fraud department, they said they do not have office in corpus christi, all calls from them show discover on  caller id, and they did not recognize the 888 number.  fraud office lady googled the number while i was talking to her, and saw this site, and seemed quite interested and promised to do an investigation.
