I recently started receiving calls from this number 1-888-204-8943. I have called ID and an answering machine and we just don't answer the phone if it is a toll free number orwe don't know the party/ This toll free number 1-888-204-8943 never leaves a message so I suspected it is telemarketing or soem kind of sales pitch. If it was important and not a sales pitch then they will leave a message as soem toll free calls are people such as the phone company or Dish Satellite etc. I called the phome company and there is a law that you can't block toll free numbers which is true as their Lobby got it into Federal Legislation. Write or call your Congress member. I also called the number and when answered was told I was being connected with Customer service in Ohio. I canceled ny Discover card long ago.

It is either Discover card or Telemarketing for them. I  have caller ID nad a n answering machine and don't usually answer toll free calls. See my response above. The other night I did answer as I was expectinga call and know that sometimes Corporations use toll free numbers. I immediately  answered  as if it was the expected call and was  told by some guy that it wasn;t them  and that it was Discover card. I told the guy I couldn't  talk as I was expecting this call. This number has called twice since then.

I got calls also. I just call forward it to another telemarketing number. Hope they enjoy calling each other.

Several unwanted calls daily, caller does not answers

They cal me on the average of twice a day and I do not want to talk to them.

My wife and I have a Discover and they said they were from Discover and wanted to activate my card so I played along untill she asked me for the security code on the back. That is when I knew it was a SCAM because they dont need that.  The only person who needs that is some one making a transaction without swiping the card.  DONT ANSWER Simple as that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

called tonight.I picked up the phone to answer nobody responded.Read a few complaints saying it's Discover Credit Card.All caller ID said was that it's a toll free number.

Yes, this is Discover Card. I was contacted b/c I never activated a card they sent me awhile ago. They asked if I received the card and when I said yes, they wanted to activate it.

I really don't think this is a scam. I have NEVER used my discover card and there is no way my credit card number is out there. They just want you to start using your card if you haven't activated it. This is how they make money! If you don't answer the phone, they will just continue to call. Just get it over with already.

repeated calls..hang up when i ask what they want.

This number calls me close to midnight, every night.  I thought that it was illegal for solicitors and/or businesses to call people before 9AM and after 9PM. Does anyone know if that is still true?

I am on the Do Not Call List. Which does not seem to be doing any good. I think I can speak for everyone who receives calls  from this number and any unwanted calls lets take these callers to court.

if they identified themselves on the caller id they might get their calls answered

This number does belong to Discover - I called the 1-800-DISCOVER number and verified with the fraud department.  It would be nice if it showed up as "DISCOVER" and not "800 SERVICE"!

I get several calls a day from this number...all hours of the day and night..starting at 8am and ending
at 9 pm...there is never a message...though the answering machine does not 'kick in' until the 5th
ring..then it is just 'air' and the click when they disconnect..
I believe that if someone really wants to reach you.they would leave a message..none of the computerized baloney that is happening now a days...
I do not answer all calls that come to my phone..sometimes I am doing something that you just cannot stop, and pick up the phone...

I receive at least one call EVERY DAY from this number.  I do not answer calls that do not identify themselves or leave a message on my answering machine.  When are they going to wake up?  Also, they vary the time of day on their calls.

I work for the Discover Call Center in Arizona.  You're all getting these calls b/c you didn't opt out of the marketing agreement.  It was mailed to you a few months ago.  It looks like junk mail and you probably threw it away.  You must call and tell them to opt you out.

Discover card calling with another 30 day trail for something. Always wanting to talk to my husband. My husband won't talk to them. So I quit answering the call when they came in. Until one night they called every half hour. I got so sick of the phone ringing I answered the call. I asked them if they was all brain dead. I have told you over and over my husband won't talk to you people and you are wasting my time and yours by calling here. The calls stopped for a couple of months until tonight. Here we go again.

If you believe these calls are fraudulent and they are continuing to harass you as many of you have said REPORT THEM!!!!
