BUY A CALL BLOCKING PHONE!
Uniden and Panasonic make CALL BLOCKING telephones. They’re cheap - $40-$60 and they usually come with a 2nd wireless handset. COSTCO & AMAZON SELL THEM.
They work beautifully! These phones also block
“PRIVATE,” “OUT OF AREA” and "UNKNOWN" calls!!!
I have had the same home number and the same business phone number for over 15 years and my home and my business lines (both published) seem to be on every call list imaginable. I bought a Panasonic call blocking phone for my home and I bought a Uniden call blocking telephone for my business.
NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH TELEMARKETERS. THEY CAN’T GET THROUGH!
We can stop these telemarketers IF we all buy a call blocking phone.

- DebBlock the number--I learned about Panasonic phones from a post on another phone number site. The ones that have Call Block will let you block any phone number (even numbers that are out of your calling area). You will hear 1 ring; the caller will get a busy signal.
- Caller: Discover
- JETAMESYet another call from these folks - whoever they are.
Yes, these calls are blocked by my Panasonic phone.
If everyone bought blocking phones, these [***] would be out of business!

- Ralph ZiggyThis is Discover Card, they are jumping on the bandwagon of being money grubbing pests in this recession. I bought a Digitone Call Blocker, and programed it to block all 800 numbers (866-###-####, 877-###-####, 888-###-####, 800-###-####). It picks up after getting caller ID, and then hangs up on caller after 8 seconds. Take that and burn in hell, Discover marketing j$$k-wads, you'll never reach me on my home phone again!

- maceDiscover calls me quite a bit. I listen a usually say I'm not interested and the calls stop. The problem is the calls do not stop for long. A few months later it starts up again as if they never spoke to me. Iwas forced to buy caller ID to avoid all of these calls. It really is a disgrace that our government allows this stuff to go on.
I guess we all know who "our" government really works for. - louWithin 1 week I got 5 phone calls from 888-204-8943.They said they were from Discover Card. I had enough of that so I called Discover this morning, the # on the back of the card, which was different. I talked to Discover and they said NO ONE from Discover has called me. They took all the info and were passing it on and were going to try to trace this #. Afterward, I called that 888 # and it just said it was Phoenix, Arizona and some woman got on the phone, which I then hung up. I think I will call back and play with them a little. I've had it with this crap. I just redid my # on the do not call list. The other time I did that it was only good for 5 yrs. But since 2008 the government changed it to make it permanent.

- Lynn replies to DCI did opt out and the operator said my account was marked opt out. She said it was probably I won the give away.
She didn't answer the phone Discover Call Center, but after probing she did say she worked for Discover. She also said they should have left a message to that fact. I told her I would call her back if I had the message. I didn't not give any information. I did not have a message on my machine. - Mork HowbellJust call the number. I did and got a real person after about 1 min of holding. Tell them to either stop or you're calling your state's atty general. They'll say you aren't even on the call list but can't say why you keep getting calls. They'll say , "you might still get calls from "orders" that are being processed at the phone bank" (passing the buck). sons-o-[***].

- B| 1 replyI'm getting these calls too and my daughter just recently had some huge problem that Discover enrolled her in some sort of credit monitoring without her consent and began charging her for it. She had to fight to get a refund. Don't know if this is same thing but Discover seems to be doing a lot of product marketing and enrolling in programs lately.
- AnnoyedCan someone please provide the model # for some of these call blocking phones? I don't see it in the descriptions. I'm so annoyed and totally over these calls.
- Caller: Discover
- Eddie The HatDidn't realize that Discover Card was part of scamming and shady services. Sad.

- crzylady replies to DCpretty sneaky business!
- MikeG replies to DCNora,
So....they mailed me something saying their going to pester the h*** out of me unless I opt out. I, like a jerk, didn't spend the time reading all the mumbo jumbo that every business sends me, so they can say they warned me. Why is it an opt out instead of a signup opportunity? If I cancel my Discover Card will they stop calling? I think muggers ought to adopt that philosophy....send you pages of yadda yadda in the mail that says they won't hold you up if you opt out. Of course, if you fail to respond, IT'S YOUR FAULT. - mistybeen getting these calls daily and they're really annoying, for weeks i think
- lizziewho are these people??Pain in the --s
- Cropsey replies to GaryHere it is over one year later and I just received the call from Discover.
