    I agree.  No phone call should ever be allowed by the phone companies to be completed without first sending the detailed real name and number of the person or company calling.  I just won't answer.  Also, if it was important enough to call, for Pete's sake leave a number and name to call back and info of why it was important enough to disturb me........!

    Judging by the people above it's got to be AT&T...They've called 4 or 5 times in the past 6 hours?! Leaving no message, etc. Why are you bothering me without leaving a message if you want me that bad? It's getting ridiculous! We just cancelled our long distance service from them yesterday and it's getting quite annoying......

    I LIST JERKS
    JERK LIST.  Aggravate me by calling and hanging up on me, hanging up on my business answering machine, continuing to call after I tell you I don't want the calls, start with a lie by telling me that "You called one of our associates about an investment..." You do this and you get listed on the JERK LIST.  I don't care what your company is.  I have stopped doing business with several companies that I really did do business with after repeated aggravations and that includes phone companies that should not be doing these calls-Verizon is one that calls and hangs up on my answering machine.  There are PLENTY of suppliers of everything I use. Following is a list of 264 JERKS accumulated in less than a year and I only record about 20% of the JERKS because I don't have time.  It is 8:30 a.m. and three JERKS have called already. Somebody sold my name to investment JERKS. They have sure things on oil wells (those tips stopped after the Gulf Spill) gold, stocks, bonds, land, etc.

    I changed my phone # because we keept getting colect. agencies for people who used to live at this #. Explained how sick my husband was & how disturbing the calls were. None were for us. The day after the # was changed I get 4 calls from 888-211-7690. I did not answer any calls because the name shows up as "TOLL FREE." It seems the new # they gave me had their own set of collection groups calling them. They called Sun at 8:10pm. I have never had dealings with that coll. group nor had the 3 other people who had lived here. I called ATT up again & asked for another #. I told him how I had had 4 calls from this # the day after my # was changed. He assured me that it was a marketing call from ATT & he would put a not on my account not to call us. He also asked me if I had listed my # on the "DO NOT CALL LIST?" I assured him that I had. Do you think that stopped the calls from ATT while my husband is recovering from a serious illness------NO!!!!! We have already had 2 calls today. I am going to unplug the phone. The next move is to cancell the land line completely.
    You would think they would read these comments & learn of all the customers they are making angry.

    I too had some work done by AT&T.  If they don't identify themselves, they will never get an answer from me.  I did not answer the phone would not have known it was AT&T until I read the above messages.  I know it was a survey to see how satisfied I was with their work.  Still won't answer until they identify who is calling.  Are they above everyone else?

    Seems to me if you just answered the phone, you would have known it was a service survey and they would not have kept calling back.  A company that is actually trying to make sure their customers are satisfied with their service, and you're all complaining??  Not that AT&T is very successfull at good service, but I--for one--am at least happy they are trying.  I don't understand the problem.  If you don't want to answer your phone, don't have one!!!  Or at least, don't give your number out.  Don't complain when someone tries to use it to improve their service with you.  I just don't understand the logic or thought process of some people.

    888-211-7690.  Thanks to all the posts.  I saw the number but did not pick up the call.  My caller ID shows TOLL FREE CALL below the number.  Yes, I did make some changes to my phone services so now I know this is from AT&T.  Why do they have to hide their name?  A big company like that should be proud to show their name.  That means they violated FTC laws.

    Don't presume to tell everyone else here what they should or shouldn't do with THEIR own phones that they are paying to have.

    AT&T of all companies knows very well that nobody, except people like you, want unidentified calls coming in, hanging up on their machines, or hanging up on the people themselves. If they are doing the right thing... they are doing it the WRONG way. Period.

    If you are that desperate for people to talk to, step outside of your house.

    Multiple calls from this number already today.
    ATT? Unsure, we will not answer unidentified calls.

    ATT of all companies should know that customers do not like getting unidentified calls coming in repeatedly and hanging up on answering machines and/or customers.

    Do they even care about their customer satisfaction surveys?? From the miserable service we've gotten from them in the past few years, I doubt it.

    At about 9:47 a.m., I received another call from 1-888-211-7690.   No one was on the other end, but I could hear a grinding in the back ground.   I left the phone off the hook and walked away.   At about 10:05 a.m., I could no longer hear the noise, so I hung up the phone.

    At 10:05 a.m., an on oriental lady called, this time from 1-777-889-1073 asking for me by name.   I told her that I've been placed on a no call list.   She politely said she would correct it issue and disconnected the call.

    I also had some changes made to AT&T service this week. I got 4 calls from this number but did not answer because no name was shown. For goodness sakes, this is the PHONE company, so they should show their number above all else! People already have to take measures against telemarketers and such, and AT&T knows it, yet they are not transmitting their name. MAYBE they would get feedback from customers for their survey if they would show their name, DUH!

    Have had 2 calls from this number today. No message left either time. When I called the number back, there was a lot of silence, then received the "call did not go through" message with a lot of static in the background. Figure they're outsourcing the call, so no caller ID. Wish I could block calls at work.

    I made changes with ATT and it was excellent service, but this is the 6th call confirming that the service was acceptable.  How many times do they need to hear it? I'm beginning to wonder how excellent the service is if this is the aftermath.

    I agree as I do not answer solicitation phone calls... Caller ID is wonderful when it's used... and since they want the positive feedback they need to fix that... don't know why I am commenting this here... not like they will read this or it will change anything...

    Got call from 888-211-7690 (supposed to be AT&T) I did not order any service. So, why are they even calling. I usually switch caller with unfamiliar number to my fax line.
