annoyed in Texas replies to DJ
I got sick of the calls (which are coming in on my Verizon cell phone) and decided to answer. It was AT&T as DJ said; however, I have absolutely NO AT&T accounts. Not sure what I'll do if I continue to receive the calls. They've only been coming in for one day so I believe it's probably just a wrong number.

I received this call again for the 2nd time today 9-10-10 at 3:48PM from TOLL FREE CALL.
It was AT&T U-verse, doing a survey for their customer service rep. from yesterday, as I called in with a complaint. Didn't speak to a HUMAN!! It was a stupid COMPUTER CALLING!!! I would rather speak to a human than a computer telling me to press this number and that number!!

GIVE THE JOBS BACK TO THE HUMANS AND FIRE THE COMPUTERS!!!!!!!!!

I pay for Caller ID through my service with AT&T.  So why do they use numbers to contact their customers about recent service that show up as a "Toll Free Number!"  I do not answer calls from numbers I am unfamiliar with.  That is why I pay extra for the Caller ID service with them!  If they valued my opinion they would call me with a number identified on Caller ID as an AT&T number or better yet something in writing!

Decided to update our AT&T service to save alittle $$$, only to find out the sales person misled us true monthly costs.  Seriously folks, they lied.  We cancelled our change in service, and now I'm getting bombarded with calls from this phone number.  Not good.

As with many of you I don't answer 800 or 888 numbers that do not identify the caller.  They can ring my phone off the hook if they choose, but I won't answer it.  Too much, and I know how to turn the ringer off.

getting numerous calls from this number.  I did change services with AT&T and really am not happy with the company.  For the past three months, the billing amount has been incorrect (overcharge).  Everytime I call to get the bill corrected, I get a call center in India and am speaking to someone whose first language is not English.  Very frustrating!  Every month I am assured that the billing will be corrected and when the next bill is received, it says I owe back monies.  This is the amount that was incorrect on the previous bill and I was told by AT & T to pay a lower amount on my bill.  If this happens again next month, I am cancelling service and going with another provider ..... or going without a landline!

AT & T billing/customer service is the worst!!

I just received a call from 888-211-7690 and because it did not show a name, I did not answer it.  I immediately came to the Internet and when I found your site, I found out that it was from At&t.  I will not answer a call with 800 or 888 area code so if At&t is ashamed to identify itself (and it very well should be) it will slowly lose a lot of business.  I am so disgusted with At&t's customer service, I am ready discontinue the Internet service with them.  I have no patience with the computerized voice that never understands what you are saying and it takes a good hour to get through to a live voice.  What ever happened to good customer service at these computer companies.  Dell hires Bombay operators who do not speak good English.  It is so frustrating!!!!

    They're wasting their time
I voiced my dissatisfaction with their customer NO-service department by hanging up on them earlier today. Since we live in an area in where they have no competition, they can charge and do whatever they want with us. And, the only way that we can get away from them is to move. Needless to say, I
    won't be answering my phone.

Interesting situation. I got a number of calls from this number with no caller I. D. I've ignored it along with a half-dozen other unknown numbers until I could take it no more. I spent the last hour researching these numbers primarily on this site, and correcting the issues by calling the responsible parties. Many of them have been collectors calling the wrong number. Because of this thread, I called ATT because I was a former customer and disconnected service back in March. After getting bounced around a couple times, I learned the following. None of the operators were aware of the automated survey. This is no surprise. Note that when I called the 888-211-7690, the computer requested my phone number but did not recognize it. When talking to the operator, I was told that even being a former customer, my number would still be recognized.

I don't know about any of you, but I feel there is a possibility that the survey is a scam by someone who hacked ATT computers. It's only a suspicion, though. At this time, I will have to weigh my options. Somewhat of a letdown because I was successful with several previous companies. Please be careful and best wishes to all.

we just notified AT&T today we no longer want their lousy service as it is 40 bucks a month without long distance. we went majic jack but did not tell them why as it is none of their business. so they call (just now, a recording no less,) wanting me to "answer a few questions" as to why we decided to disconnect
their service. my husband told them we no longer want the land line and the person on the other end argued with him that he didn't know what he was doing. (think he does, he is a computer programer.) so when they called just now i hung up on them. 1 november it had better be disconnected. service is so bad here with AT&T that our guest have to go outside to talk on their cells let alone our land line. also drops the internet repeatedly.

I agree with the people above, ATT should at least ID themselves, why not? I do the same just delete the number, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR MANAGEMENT ATT?

I am angry that you call my number and can't list who is calling just list your phone number which by the way won't take a call back.  You also don't leave me a message after you have already called to disturb me.  If you can't put your name on caller ID and can't leave a message DON'T BOTHER ME!

That in legal terms is war dialing.  It is illegal and reportable.  I forget which organization
