Just received a call from Ben Devine, he is trying to collect for Paychex, a debt that has already been paid or is disputed.  I told him I was an attorney in the State of Texas and ask him if he was licensed in the State of Texas, he said he was.  He is a liar and a fraud, trying to hold himself out to be an attorney when he is a debt collector.  HIs company is Brennen and Clark, there number is 888-217-3212.  These people need to prosecuted.

I agree. They will not give you any information about themselves but will be very demanding. I will not pay people like this over the phone and they continue to threaten with lawsuits. They are not attorneys and shouldn't be able to state anything leading to that.

yes that lawsuit closed in 2000, but there is one starting now in 2011, their practices remain the same, they still insist on being an attorney's office.   They still threaten!  There is nothing I hate worse than some jack ass, Ben Clark, calling and telling me the law???? I was a mortgage broker for 21 years, I know what can and cannot be said or done to collect a debt.   Good Luck with this one, so far I have gathered 21 people in the same boat, so if you are fed up with lies and deception from these bandits, respond here so I can tell you who to contact to join the class action suit.   Have a wonderful day!  Dont let these jerks continue to harass people.   They scared an 80 year old woman into paying by credit card, money she did not owe........ that should say it all

They have been harassing me also.  A man named Adam Taylor.  I obtained a lawyer due to the harassing phone calls and letters for money that I don't owe.  Have not heard a peep from them since February, as the lawyer wrote them a nasty letter, stating they better not be contacting me with any issues.  Have not heard from the lawyer, so I am guessing they have laid off.

I am an elderly man and live in CA.  I received a call from this number
alleging that I owe someone something.  I owe no one.  This is a fraudulent
call to an old person hoping to get money from me.  My wife is
dealing with the situation making a complaint to the BBB.

You do not have to say you are a lawyer, you simply need to imply you are or you work for one. Get the facts straight because you look dumb when you try to stick up for your company. We all know you obviously work at Brennan and Clark. Weren't you put on probation and fined $15,000 in Feb, 2005 for violations?
Rings a bell doesn't it. Get a new business model and you won't have people bashing you.

Got a message from a man saying he was with Brennan and Clark on behalf of one of their clients who reported what is now a "time sensitive matter" and to call Ben Divine at once regarding the situtaiton if I want it to be handled "amicably".
What a load of crap - I know that I don't owe anyone anything - didn't even waste the return phone call.

This guy Mike Subin just called me too! He didn't have a name of the person he was trying to reach and told me I needed to get my boss on the phone to keep us from getting sued. Thank God I googled this and thanks for your input because I wasn't positive this was a fraud until I saw that "Mike Subin" called you too. I tried calling him back and he won't pick up the phone lol. What a bunch of [***].

Gentleman by the name of Mike Subin called and was very impolite.  He said we owe him money for a payroll service we stopped using over 6 months ago.  He then proceeded to give my staff a hard time and said " we will see you in court"

I worked at this awful place for a few years....they are ONLY a collection agency, and are trained by President Meg Larson and Manager Kim Roland to LIE to people, to tell them that they are lawyers....most of the people that work at this place are actually rounded up from AA, which is where MIchael Brennan, founder of Brennan and Clark, is also from (not that there is anything wrong with AA whatsoever, it's quite unfortunate actually that these people are given another chance at a job, and are trained to lie to unsuspecting people)
They are liars, they are NOT lawyers, this is 100% fact, trust me....do not be concerned with their claims, unless of course you are fully aware that you owe money.  If that is the case, I would attempt to clear it up with the company you owe the money to, and refrain from working with Brennan and Clark

Sounds like you worked at brennan and clark for a couple years must not have been that bad.

Sounds like you must not have been a very good employee there or you would still have a job.

Whatsoever isn't all one word maybe you should learn how to read and write before you go on blogs and embarass yourself.  I don't imagine companies like to keep employees who are dumb and haven't learned proper grammar.

Right. So-called "companies" like this want workers without a conscience who are as willing to lie on the phone as the internet. You are obviously highly qualified!

For many years I worked for several large corporations as a credit and collection manager.  About a year ago I was let go do to the economic condition, and have not been able to find a new position. Probably because I was getting desperate, I decided to buy a franchise and start my own business. (I will write more about franchises else where.) The venture never got off the ground and I was in trouble with creditors almost immediately. To my surprise, I was now being contacted by collection companies that I had formerly employed. I want you to know it was very difficult being on the other end of these calls, but I did learn something. The one I had just hired before leaving my last credit position turned out to be the best. I didn't really like the experiance, but these people always conducted themselves very professionally - they were very polite (which surprised me). They were extremely persistent, which made me more accountable, and they talked like they knew what they were doing and not just reading a script.

I strongly recommend you hire these guys if you need help.  And pay them if your in trouble.

Got home to a voice mail on my answering machine from Brennan and Clark.  Left phone number and file number to reference.  Returned call.  Of course, person not there.  Said our "agency" needed to deal with a "time sensitive issue".  This isn't an agency; it's a personal residence.  Would love an address for this "company" to send them a letter that I'm reporting them to the Attorney General's Office.

I received a call from a Mr. Anthony Holmes, stating he was representing a law firm.  I went online after the phone call only to find out that he is with a collection agency.  He was very hostile, rude and thought that taking on that attitude was going to get him results.  I don't know what world he lives in, but I hung up on him.  I do not have time to deal with people that have nothing better to do with their time than to harrass and threaten.
