- LindaReceived a call from this agency that stated they were a law firm, it turns out they are a collection agency. They threaten and harass a person with legal action. They didn't even have a contact name when they called.

- HelloDolly59Received the same type of phone call as listed here. I did call ext. 6125 and received Ben Duvine's voice mail. Now that I know that they are a P.I.A. it will be easier for me to ignore ! Thanks for responding and giving us all a heads up !

- Bev replies to Ann in PA| 1 replyReceived a voice mail message that sounded recorded (part of it was cut off) from a Ben Devine with his firm and wanting me to call back to solve some matter amicably. I have not returned the call because it sounded wierd and so I googled it and found these replies. I see that they sometimes are collecting for an insurance co. I have been getting threatening letters from Erie Insurance about several policies that we had with them and that we cancelled. They say we owe them more money. Would like info about the law suit in case they keep this up.
- Brad AI got phone calls from a man who claimed his name to be George Clark and then changed his name in the same msg to George Daniels. Said that this secretary had been trying to contact me for 2 weeks non stop and that I should know what this matter was regarding. I imagine that I will receive a phone call from you or your legal representative within the day. This sounds just like a scam cause I never rec'd a phone call from anyone's secretary regarding a matter like this.
- Caller: Brennan and Clark
- Another scam?I received a call from someone at Brennan & Clark asking for someone who doesn't live here. I was RUDELY informed that this was a legal matter and that he had hired a private investigator who assured him that said person lived here.
Sorry, your private investigator is WRONG.

- Right replies to JonnyDon't B.S. on this forum. They cannot serve you - they are not a law firm. They are not licensed in any state other than IL.
"Jonny" you are prob. one of the Jacka$$es that works there.
If by some slim change you are a real person - you did not get served by Brennan & Clark (unless you are a creditor who used their services and you didn't pay them. ) But other people would have to be served by the original creditor being represented by a real attorney listed w/ the state bar where you live, not these jokers in IL. - Ed AbramsI received a threatening phone call from B.C. ( as on caller ID - name was mumbled on message) saying if I want "to settle the matter amicably" I should call 888-217-3212 ext 6125 and refer to fil 11-092643 - I have no intention of calling and am forwarding this to CT Attorney General.

- KimI had a very unprofessional message on my answering machine saying debt collector and to call 1-888-217-3212 and to give a file number that was left on my machine. When I called there was no answer or answering machine but when I called back a man answered saying Ben speaking - no company name was mentioned when he answered. He said he wasn't sure what my matter was about and kept asking me and I told him I had no idea that he left the message on my phone with the file number. He said that the file number doesn't help and that i had to tell him what it was about with my name and my company name. So I told him again I have no idea and he got mad and started yelling so I hung up.

- White Oak Contracting| 3 repliesBen Devine left a message on our phgone saying they needed to talk to the owner about a "time sensitive" issue, gave a file # and ext # 6125.. The only thing we can figure is a cancelled Erie Ins policy that was paid as far as we are concerned. Reading the reviews sounds like these scumbags are getting away with crime....and it is paying off.

They have threaten me with lawsuits and lawyers telling me that the debit that I owed would turn into me paying a whole lot more if I didn't call.
- digidiSame people as Brennan and Clark call...Gail Zimmerman... Creepy, no tact, no diplomacy....Asked me if I had a file number twice as if I should have had it and couldn't find me...Then asked me if I had a husband twice....and said that it could be a lawsuit and I had better find the file number and call back. I called back and noone answered. It was associated with 630 2797600...bogus bogus bogus...sounds suspicious..

- AngryA total scam. They called demanding that I resolve some matter amicably from "Brennan and Clark." Some guy named Ben Devine (not a real name) was the listed associate. It was a recorded message. I called back to speak with someone to find out who it really was that was calling me, and they picked up, and then hung up. I called back again and it went to "his" voice-mail. The number they called from was 630-359-6125. Ben Devine can be reached at 630-359-6126 ext. 6125.

- Erie blows replies to White Oak Contracting| 2 repliesI cancelled four Erie insuance policies due to bait and switch rates and poor customer service.
Then I get a call from B&C claiming I owe money on the Erie policy, when they owe me a refund.
Ben Devine said I would be reported to the state insurance board and that my rates would skyrocket if I didn't pay.
In looking up the state board it looks like I'll be contacting them about Erie's fraudulent claims.
This web site was established in our ongoing effort to fulfill our regulatory mission: to ensure that citizens of the Commonwealth are provided with access to adequate and reliable insurance protection; that the insurance companies selling policies are financially sound to support payment of claims; that the agents selling company policies are qualified and conduct their business according to statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as acceptable standards of conduct; and that the insurance policies are of high quality, are understandable and are fairly priced. - KansasIf you have insurance and switch policies, you need to cancel your old policy, IN WRITING along with an effective cancellation date. Otherwise, by state law in many states (KS for me), the insurance company has to cover you for another month after the policy ends just in case there is a claim and you have not been able to get another policy. This is true even if they cancel you. Call it a grace period you are forced to pay unless you properly cancel. So be sure to cancel any insurance policy in writing.
This happens a lot because people do not understand this obscure law. So if you have done this, Brennan and Clark would be in the right and there is no going back to the insurance company to resolve it. The insurance company only turns it over to a collector if they cannot resolve it before then.
You should show the old insurance company that you have new insurance immediately starting the day after the old policy expired to settle any dispute before it goes to collections.
Other than that, I really hated the condescending attitude they exhibited toward me when I said I wanted to do a little research and get back to them. Anthony Holmes x6136 would not even give me an hour to get back to him. He wanted me to settle immediately without letting me perform my due diligence. What a jerk. After a few days, I decided I was satisfied they were within the law so I paid. So they are not above lying and pressuring you for money. So much for the immediate payment request Anthony just had to have that minute! What a lying, scamming, low-life jerk! Have some common courtesy.
