"they may just shut down the account if they don't hear from you so that more charges don't occur" is false because all deposit accounts, checking and savings, have a 60-day window in which fraudulent debits can be contested. "may just shut down the account" is just fear-mongering.

If you had really called your CU, your CU could have resolved any alleged fraudulent credit card charges directly with you, no need to call a third party. Folks, there appears to be many shill posts on this thread claiming Falcon Fraud is a legit third party security company used by your CU that will ask you for your birthday to verify your identity. DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR BIRTHDAY OR ANY OTHER INFO to any stranger who calls you and leaves you a number to call them. Got questions on your credit card, call your CU using the number on the back of the card but DO NOT call an unverified number a stranger leaves you. Please read Fraud Investigator's post on page 4 -- s/he says 888-241-2440 is part of a massive scam, I think to gather birthdays given the posts on this thread.

This number is totally fraudulent - it is not a legitimate number.

This fraud has been promoted here by repeated shill postings claiming the number is "legit" - it is in fact a total fraud.

Report any calls from this fraud to your Credit Union and your state Attorney General.

You are mistaken.  Falcon Fraud Manager DOES monitor transactions.  They MONITOR transactions looking for patterns of possible identity theft.  Unlike the scams - if you call the listed number, the company identifies itself and directs you to the proper agent. (Go ahead, try it)
The message they left me included the company name, who they were calling on behalf of, and a case number.  When I called they asked for either the case number or the last four digits of the card.  As a secondary confirmation they asked for either the last four of the affliated SSN / EIN number or the street address.  At no point did they ask for birthdays or all nine digits of the SSN / EIN number.
However, vigilance is always commendable.  A little paranoia will assist you in keeping your assets covered.

I got a call yesterday morning, but didnt answer it. After reading these posts, I checked on both of my C.U. accounts and sure enough, there were four transactions that I didn't make!  All of the transactions add up to almost $500!!!

received a call from 888.241.2440 stating potential fraudulent activity on my debit card.  TOTALLY legit.  They conferenced in my CU, they asked me about a charge and then they shut down my card on the spot.

Yes this number was just trying to confirm a purchase.  I made a first time Groupon purchase for a stay in Canada, I am glad they saw it as unusual and called me.

This isn't a fraud call. I booked a hotel reservation out of country and the next morning they put a hold on my card. I got this call and they asked me to verify the purchase and they lifted the hold. I was hesitant when I heard the voicemail. I called my credit union, they verified the number was ok, and they even transferred me to them to lift the hold.

I am in the suspicious camp about this company! I don't like my Credit Union outsourcing fraud protections services to this company period! They called and left me a message about a charge to my card down the street from my house at a Starbucks for $4 and change! I am all for fraud protection, but I would think they would have some smarts to know a charge to a business down the street from a person's home address does not warrant opening a CASE# and calling someone and scaring them about possible fraud on their card. Also when I called they asked for the last 4 digits of my social! I think not!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just called my Credit Union directly and complained that I will not be dealing with these people and that the Credit Union should call them and have them wipe out any record they have for me about this case! Don't trust whoever these dudes are!

This is a real service... And thank goodness it is! My debit card was being declined. I called my CU and they gave me Falcons number. They put a hold on my debit card until I confirmed some charges on my card... Totally over 500.00 for heating and cooling supplies! Not Mine! They saved me! So yes, it's a real company.

Real incompetent service is what I would call it! See my previous post above. Okay got another call this week about another legit purchase on may card I attempted to make while on vacation. This company is way over the top in the monitoring of card purchases!!!! Only this time I could not make a purchase to my card today. I will be complaining to my Credit Union about this abuse!

This is a phishing phone scam call number, I was contacted today when there was no activity on my CU account at all.  Call your bank directly and never give out your personal information without know exactly who you are in contact with.

NOT TRUE.  They are a legit fraud protection agency.  They should only need to verify the last 4 digits of your social and will then ask you about the pending charges in question.  I have received calls from them 3 times over the past 4 years or so.  All legitimate calls.

I received a call from this number and they left a message. I was not sure so I called my credit union they are LEGIT! My cu verified this & proceeded to go over the activity on my acct that happen to be fraud. This is unbelievable, first time happening. Anyway Falcon is legit.
