I have been receiving calls from this number all week. They say it is credit card company for Old Navy but I do not have an account with them. How to make this stop?

Just like you, I was getting these daily voicemails instructing me to call back 1-888-248-3182.
I did the research and read that it is related to GAP/OLDNAVY/BANANAREPUBLIC's Collection Agency.
Since I don't (and never did) own a GAP/ON/BR card I knew they must be calling a prior owner of my phone #.
The "trick" is, be polite, firm but polite.
I called them back, entered 0000-0000-0000-0000-0000 for the account #, 000-00-0000 for the SSN and 00000 for the Zip code. I had to enter 000-00-0000 and 00000 a few times until I got a representative.
Once you talk to the representative just tell her/him that you don't own any GAP/OLDNAVY/BANANAREPUBLIC cards but you keep getting these phone calls daily.
Then suggest she/he lookup the phone number they called you on (safe to give as they know it anyways).
Once I gave her my phone number she told me they are looking for "THIS/THAT PERSON", when I told her I don't know anyone under that name and that it is probably the prior owner of this phone # she THANKED me and told me she will ask to remove the phone # from their collection file.
All is needed is to be polite and only provide the minimal information possible.
No more calls.

This number is calling if you have a credit card through Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic or Piperlime. They are all intertwined. Generally, it is because you have a late payment, but could also have something to do with an order you placed. I hope this might clear some things up! :o)

They called frequently every day for a few days. I never answer restricted calls. I Googled the message they left on voicemail and found this site saying it was a collection agency. So I called the number they gave to call (888-248-3182) and kept pressing 0 until I got a person on the phone. I told them I just got this number last month and to please remove this number from their list. They asked me if I knew some person they were looking for and I said I never heard of her. By law, if you tell them you don't know the person and to stop calling, they have to stop. It's as simple as that. This is the second time this has happened since I got this number last month. Macy's/Citibank collection agency was the first that hounded me immediately after I got the new number (they were looking for the same person) and I handled it in the same way (that was 3 weeks ago) and I haven't heard from them since.

I dont have a card for Gap/Old Navy or Banana.   In fact I do not have any kind of store credit cards so that makes me think something is fishy.

A few of you owe "JW" an apology.  It seems he's right about this being related. Took awhile and more than a few phone calls (never had a harder time giving someone money).  I mailed a payment directly to the Gap as I refuse to pay collection agencies.  They're basically legalized loan sharks and they get a commission when you pay them money.  They're instructed not to tell you about the "Phone fee" because they know a certain percent will just pay it later rather than go to the trouble of disputing it.  It would also encourage you to pay the Gap or Banana Republic in person.  If you should happen to speak to them you should remind them they are obligated to tell you who they are representing and you are NOT obligated to deal with them.  By act of U.S. Congress.  In other words, it's a law.  You are entitled to deal directly with the person or company to whom you owe money.

This number is on my cell phone every 2 hours now for 2 weeks.  I never answer, they don't leave a message.  Thanks for the heads up on the GAP account info.

My old navy card is paid off completely & this number keeps calling. They tried doing this to me a few months back & when I finally got on the phone with someone he couldn't tell me any real details & harassed me for me to 'pay off what I owe' when I spoke with old navy my account was in fine standing. I don't fall for this BS.

They called me every 3 hours for one day, I do have an Old Navy account that I owed like 10 bucks to, (late fee from last statement). So I payed it online. You should never have to give your account number to a credit card company if it is ligit- they already have it, just give them your name and they can look it up. They wouldnt ask for your ss # either. So not sure if this was a scam or not, sounds like it could be a collection agency, (not the real credit card company) working for them to collect unpaid bills.

From their "Politely" tell them that you do not have an account with those services and ask them to take your number off their call list. When I talked with the operator they asked me if I knew a person that was not living at the residence. Real simple quick fix. For everyone else, make sure they are a legitimate buisness before you give them any personal info!

I just called the number.  They asked if I had GAP, Old Navy, or Banana Republic cards.  I have none of the above so She asked me if I knew a Jessica "somebody"....  Okay, "NO"....  Okay, I'll remove your number from the call list.

Called AGAIN

Multiple calls with no messages. I do have a card with Gap, but owe nothing to them BR or ON.  They are very annoying. They do not leave a message, probably because our message is too long.

I got 5 calls from this number on sunday!!!! How do I get these (people?) to stop?????
