- Stan| 1 replyI refused to answer the original call. When I called them back they said they had the wrong name for my phone number and would remove the phone number from their automatic dialing system. We'll see.
- Caller: some card service
- kikiI have been getting repeated calls from this number. They leave a voicemail to call GE Money/Gap Credit Services back at 888-248-3182. I do not have a GAP/ Banana Republic or anything other credit card. After just hitting 000000 I finally got a person. They told me they were looking for someone I had never heard of before. They said they would take my phone number off their records and I shouldnt receive any more calls from them.
- Caller: Gap Credit Services
- AlI was getting calls at all hours of the day and night.
I followed the advice to call them back and speak to an operator. I hit the * button so they would get me to another menu without giving personal information. I gave the operator my phone number and asked her who she was looking for. Of course it was someone I had never heard of. She told me that they would remove my number from that account.- Caller: Collection Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- MMI was getting these calls daily too. I called and when I reached someone after hitting star over and over, I told him I didn't have a clue why they were calling and they needed to stop. HE hung up on me. Then I looked this number up on google and found this site. I then called back and got an operator and nicely said I didn't have any of their cards and to take my name off the list.
This is a scam.- Caller: Card Services
- gaplessCaller ID was unknown, a message was left on voicemail. This was on my cell phone which is my only phone. Message was something like "This is GE Money calling with important information about your Banana Republic account." I've never had credit with any of the Gap brands, so I definitely don't have an account number.
- Caller: GE Money
- Call type: Debt collector
- KatI've had them calling my place of business for weeks now. I have spoken to them 8 times! and asked that my number be removed. The first 4 times, I was nice. Now I'm not. EVERY single time I am told that my phone number is not in their system. However, one time, I was promised by an operator who told me her name was Alex Perez that she would personally see to it that my number be removed. That was 3 phone calls ago. Seriously, there has to be some kind of agency we can contact...? My number has been on the "no call" list since it began.
- Caller: GE Credit Services/Old Navy
- Call type: Debt collector
- KristinJust got a call from this number and immediately came here, because this place has been helpful with past calls :)
After reading through the posts, I checked my Old Navy credit card payment, and there is indeed a late fee on it, apparently I forgot to pay last month =P
So this call may be legit....I'd still be wary about giving out a cc# or SSN though....- Caller: Unkown
- kristinUPDATE: since the above post they have now called 3 more times...it's becoming an annoyance.
- honeybemelissaIts not a scam or a collections agency. I just spoke with Old Navy and its just a company they pay to call and remind you to pay your bill. There's no need to call the number back. Just make your account current and they'll stop calling
- J: MD & DC replies to StanGot the same automated message over and over. When I called they asked for my SSN which I refused to give. I did provide my phone number and they said the phone number belonged to someone else and that they would remove it from the list. I spoke to a supervisor named Gem Hart. She advised that she was located in the Phillipines working for GE Money Credit services. I asked her why I was receiving these repeated phone calls and she advised that they were made in error as my phone number didn't even show up in their system. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IF YOU CALL THIS NUMBER BACK!!!!!!!!! DO NOT GIVE YOUR SSN!!!
- lzz bttsorry fools. do not have this credit card, never had this card and have NEVER even been in one of their stores or gone to the on line website and my name is NOT anthony palmer, whom the calls come to from old navy. i have reported EVERY call to do not call and am considering changing or eliminating the land line # entirely. not funny any more, people.

- searching for answers replies to MackHey, this seems to have actually worked. i called this number after recieving this phone call several times over the past couple days. after pressing * 5 or 6 times, it sent me to an operater. after being on hold for about 10-15 seconds, the operater picked up and i gave her the name they were asking for and my phone number to verify that she was removing the correct number, and she very politely told me that she would remove me from the list. I just did it, so i guess we shall see if i ever get a call back from them.
- SJM replies to MackI received a call from this number and after reading info here I called them and got to an operator. They asked for a name of someone I don't know and said they would remove my number from the data dase.

- Caller: GE Money
- rBeen calling for months. Apparently, it's Old Navy. My card is paid, so it is unnecessary. Also called as 398-88-48312. Now idea why the two additional numbers at the beginning.
- susieq replies to D| 9 repliesi work for GE and i will tell you that the only reason we are calling is bc someone is not paying their credit card bill.....MAYBE you should pay it....seriously the min pymt most of the time is $15.
- Legit| 1 replyI received this call this morning, did not answer, and punched the 888 # into the computer. After calling the number back--forgetting the "1" before the "888", I reached a man's home number. The poor man gets calls all day long because people redial the number without the "1".
This number is legit. It is GE Money Bank, and a collection center for numerous accounts. My call happened to be for my American Eagle card...which, by the way, i did not realize was late!
If anything, when you receive this call, check your retail credit cards, like GAP, AE, Hollister, those types of accounts, to make sure. I am not comfortable giving any info over the phone, so when I called back, I did not give my info. Just my phone number. The agent gave me balance info, due date, etc. I pay online thru my bank, so that is how i proceeded to handle this.
We are all so used to getting these hokey phone calls, it's surprising that companies are still using a call center in India to collect funds. Kind of stupid, if you ask me. No one in their right mind is going to give info over the phone from some random number/person! If you get the call, use it as a red flag that one of your payments could be deliquent, and follow up with the number on your statement or account, just for piece of mind.- Caller: GE MONEY
