This is scam/ don't get fooled. They call from different numbers and only want your credit card info so can process in U.K.// If they call let them know contacted Atty Generals Office

We also have been getting harrasing phone calls. This last one is from this number with John Stratton. First we owed on a credit card. Then we had check fraud. Now we have litigation with 48 hours or else.
This is horrid and is above harassment!

You have to place your numbers on the DNC Registry lists, so they cant call you :)

On March 27th I got my first call from Arbitration Mediation from "John Spencer" saying that the loan was from 2003 and that they would settle for less (at first it was the recorded message from "John Stratton" that I had 48 hours to call back or legal action would be pending ....good luck), so I called back. He told me that the loan was from 2003-2010 (which was impossible, it was a Visa card with a 500.00 limit) and he proceeded to tell me that I made a payment in May of 2010, another impossibility, since I almost died in March of 2010. They try and get you to admit to paying on some of the loan so it will be "renewed" Check with your local State laws, but there are statue of limitations. This debt was way over...11 years in my case. The phone # came up as 602-492-9530, but told me to call back #888-278-8565. And wouldnt you know, yesterday I got a call from "Arbitrary Mediation" from (yep you got it) John Statton, have to call back within 48 hours, same case #....local phone  #602-218-5769, and to call back 888-259-2437. And today, 24 hours later (yep you got it again lol) "Arbitrary Mediation" recorded message, same local and long distance number, same case number, this time I called back and talked to "Jeffrey Duncan" and was told they "had called me many times and I had agreed to pay and they were taking me to court for contempt"  I told him I had contacted the FTC, The Attorney General and an Consumer Law Attorney, and none of them have ever heard of their company, and I have filed complaints with them. I told him he was no longer to call me by phone and all contact must now be done in writing. He started screaming at me, saying something about my address, and I just held my ground and said "mail it to me" He hung up on me :) The Consumer Law Attorney told me that its hard to track people like these down and to NEVER give out your personal info, they change address's and phone numbers like they do their underwear lol, and if they can get your credit or debit card info, they can wipe out your whole account!! And you will have no recourse! He also said most of these people arent even in the United States and come out in droves especially during tax time. So please be careful everyone! Any company that is a true debt collector will have no problem with giving you the original debt amount, the original collector, a physical address, a local number, a contact name (legit) and no problem with doing all contact via mail.

Received a message on our answering machine from a guy calling himself John Stratton from Arbitrary Mediation.
He did not give any name for the person he was trying to contact or that this was in regards to a debt.
He said that we had 48 hrs to call him back to settle this case and gave us a case number to use when we called him back.
If  the case isn't settled it would be handled in the county that we reside in.
Having received similar calls in the past I figured this was another scam.
The call back number they left was 888-259-2437.
The number on our caller Id says Graham, WA - (253) 210-2824.

I am an attorney and we got this voice mail at work. They used w 617-213-7608 as a local number (per my caller ID), but number they left was the 888-259-2437 number. The message said there was "pending litigation", and the company name given was "Arbitrary Mediation."  I am reporting them to the AG's office now, and will not be calling back . .  .

I just want to say I do not know how these people get away with this sort of antics. I am disabled and have cleared up my credit and what they are trying to explain has never been a debt of mine. It makes me feel better that we can express our feelings here, but I feel for me and many others who have other things to worry about. I think this should be taken serious it is a threat and could cause people some great Consequences. So I understand the frustration. but i was told by my local sheriffs office after they called and threatened that the sheriffs would be here in an hour, that I should just ignore their calls it is a scam and I would even go as far as saying it is fraud. I had to vent everyone !! !! !!

I got the same call same number today. Also got same calls from different numbers before. It's getting old.

I informed them that I had contacted my lawyer and Attorney General and they hung up on me. lol :(

I have been getting the same calls from this guy. Dont know what actions to take to keep them from calling me. This has been going on for nearly a year, and Im sick of them. Always the same message.

They called me awhile ago which prompted me to call the origional creditor only to find out the origional creditor has no idea who they are. Have since taken care of the bill an the are still calling me. These people are complete scammers they did not even ask me my information. The told me my address social and birthday. Very scary!

My situation is the same as everyone else with the difference that they tell me both of my home address and my SSN. I know the account information is bogus and by the lack of knowledge of the law, I know they are a fraud. I do worry about some scam artist having my personal information. Is there a way that I can protect myself from them using my information for personal gain?

You can "freeze" your credit reports and/ or sign up for Lifelock that monitors activity. I have mine frozen with a PIN needed to allow access. I also put an alert on my SSN with Social Security Administration as well as filing a local police report and reported to federal authorities.

Do-not-call lists only apply to people who follow the law. Scammers dont give a rats [***] about Law. They will keep calling until they are either brought down, or preventative measures are set into place.

They use different IP phones. Could be calling from India/UK

same for me, but I also noticed the case number is the year and then the other numbers are my birth month with my birth year and day mixed around.

Same as everyone else pending litigation against me but not be specific on who I am! I have 48 hours to call back or failure to comply will result in a complaint be formalized with residing counsel! How do they know who my residing counsel is! SCAM!!!!!!

I have been receiving calls from this number for almost a year. They say it's about a check'n go place I owe money to. The voice is a computerized male who calls himself jeffery duncan and says I have 48 hours to resolve this matter or charges will be filed. When I call back to question this a woman answers who is extremely rude and hangs up on me.

They just called me all the same as above ugh they can kiss my @#/!
