NO ONE from this firm will be calling you regarding collections. Our firm practices strictly in Oklahoma and primarily in personal injury, family law and business law.

I get calls from 2108196178.
I'm only 17 and have a debit card so there is almost NO WAY I have any debt.
The message is a recording saying "Hello my name is John Stratt, I'm calling from Arbitrary Meditations about a possible Litigation's against you. etc.. please call back within 48 hours etc..."

So yes this 99% most likely a scam.

i keep gettin calls from a number 1 888 259 2437. threatning legal action, now 48hrs until court proceedings i call back and get hung up on. they refuse to discuss the debt unless i want to pay. . I looked it up and this John stratton stated his office will NEVER call you over a debt and this is not him.

Same recorded message with same person name here only it was at a business and they didn't give a name or ask for anyone, I didn't punch in number and didn't call back

Do Not Call one for state and one for National. Register your home and cell phones.

Our Non-Profit has had this telephone number over 3-years and bill collectors are still calling for the previous person with the number.  I have advised them, plus the BBB, has advised numerous upon numerous, of these bill collectors, to not only take our number off that file. but to also advise the company they sell the account to that our number is no who they are looking for.  This particular one 1-888-259-2437 - I have called them twice and no one answers the phone and it goes to a voice mail - I leave a voice mail and they keep calling with a recording.  I am sick and tired of them and all of the other collection agencies that do not abide by even the BBB - it is disruptive to our agency with over 5-calls, at the least a day. Especially when we are conference calls with regards to Nationwide disaster response.  They need to stop and I do not know any additional recourse.

In my area, the calls come from a 702 or 888 prefix (702 is southern NV).  "John Stratt" (bogus name) is the initial caller and leaves a threatening message that if you do not comply within 48 hours there will be a litigation suit.  When you return the call (it rings forever), a woman will answer the phone.  She's obviously a daft bimbo hired off the street -- totally unprofessional and offers nothing but scant information.  I would say ignore the call, period!

Arbitrary mediation calling continuously. They are harassing me for two debts that were resolved. They are breaking the law. John Stratton keeps threatening me with litigation in my county. My debts have been cleared they are breaking the law, they are harassing me. This is a junk debt and total scam artists!

Call blocker might be useful.

That arbitrary whatchamacallit has a long history of scam-based calls.   No once can seem to locate them.

Don't answer calls you don't recognize.  Don't engage in conversation with them.  Don't give them any information.

How did this fair out?  I am getting the same call from the same number.

Putting your number on the DNS list doesn't help. My number has been on that list for over 5 years and I still get those types of calls,

Received automated call message from a so-called "John Stratton" claiming possible litigation against me (no direct identification of me by name or other means) with a case # 2014-371530....  was told to respond within 48 hours or face the consequences (legal action)--again, no reference to what type of action.  End of message says "Good Luck"...   Yea! I did fall for it, before talking to my attorney, this was a debt back in 2000, which I had thought was cleared up with my bankruptcy. I am now paying it off through Brunson & Associates. Today I get another call from this Stratton who ever they are. Once again I placed a message to Brunson & Associates regarding the harassments against me. They say they never heard of the people, but I remind them that was the same message they used on me, back in January 2014.

Came home tonight with the message described by others from John Stratton at arbitrary litigation.  I have no debt.  I don't appreciate being threatened.  So I plan to call them over and over and over and let them put me in voice mail which I will let sit until the 5 minutes runs out and call again.  Toll free numbers get billed for the minutes used when they call AND when you call them back.

you can call them all you want they don't pick up and it just goes to VM, I have already tried this. I just wish they stop with the harassments calls, I am getting tired of it.

I received several calls from these same people, they have contacted my daughter only to scare her with the fact that I had 48 hours to respond. They are a scam they had my name, phone number and address but the way I see it that is info that is available to most people. I told them I did not owe anything and that if they had proof to mail it to me, they said they would send me a subpoena.....I have reported them. Please don't waste your time with them.

Have you gone any further with this. I just received this same phone call and have been receiving others for some time now. I have blocked the numbers, and pretty much ignor them. But now they are contacting my family and maybe even work. Should I get a lawyer?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you

.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Got the save message they call none stop. Will not respond iIreceived they same type of call from a number in California and they were a scam as well

They are now calling from 623-888-6746. VoIP call spoofing off someone else's number. They aren't going to stop. Lovely
