Was this with e tour and travel?

Didnt get a call, but the letter and vouchers, arrived today, sounded a lot like e-tour and travel, out of Orlando FL. that I made a mistake of getting invloved with back in 1996. I never got to go on the promised trips or vacations and they still call  offering more. I would reccomend that you stay far away from these kinds of mailings. Also look up e tour and travel and you will see the same type of responses as are posted here.

Recvd ltr + 2 vouchers. Voucher 1) 4 day Carribean/Mexican Riviera; Voucher 2) trip to Vegas/Orlando Fl; airfare + accomodations equivalent fare; room rate prepaid for 2;

It is a scam and I called anyway. I used an official sounding voice for senior agent Whitehouse of the FBI, they hung up quickly. I laughed.

received postcard from AVC Claims Center, 2400 W. Pioneer Pkwy #210, Arlingtoin Tx 76013 ph$ 1-888-261-2595 telling me that I didn't pick up parcel #2815C and this was their final attempt. Thank you guys for posting to this website, I've learned so much about scams and now I know I'm not the only one getting this junk.

Just repeating what has already been said. I won a Mercedez Benz, or BMW, or Shopping spree, or cruise, or cash, etc. With a very valid looking boarding pass, and cruise voucher. You kind of always hope, this time it;s for real, even though you know the truth.

Boarding Pass and Boarding Voucher both say, on the right side "NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL - NOT AN ACTUAL BOARDING PASS.


My question is who is going to take 500 dollars over a new car, that they could sell for half off, and still walk away with a bundle? Idiots.

Got the same letter from AVC Travel.  Dirrerent # 1-888-768-6157.  Today, April 15, 2008.  Same info, free trip, car, etc.  Why son't we arrange a class-action suit & put them out of business?

I've been receiving similar letters for the last couple of months from different companies (with this from AVC Travel, Dallas TX, just the other day) and I usually verify them here on-line if they are a scam or not.
Thanks for the concerned, ordinary individuals like us - especially with the current economic mess that we are in, some people will do whatever it takes to earn something even to the point of making some of us stupid.

I received the same letter.
There is an opt out on the bottom, for those interested.

Ah; the "do not mail department."  What a goofy name. Apparently this place isn't too far from home, so I might just have to drive by after work and find them. Maybe I can "contact" them by showing up.

Isn't it a bit odd that they would have one address on the envelope and another for the "take me the heck off this list" office?  I could understand it... I'm sure they get a warehouse full of requests to stop soliciting.

Shred it right after you send them a cease and desist letter.

Addendum:
1221 River Bend is not an actual address (I know you're shocked). As a matter of fact, there is no street in Dallas called River Bend. So much for my grand entrance.

Sigh... I think that you should all send the junk mail directly to their office in Dallas with a big NO THANK YOU and TAKE ME OFF letter attached. Office numbers are posted above; feel free to call them. I'm sure they have plenty of time to talk, since they have plenty of time to stuff envelopes.

This sounds great, until you read further:

Wow.

I encourage you to dig anytime you get anything like this. No matter how stoic you may be when it comes to this stuff, you're still not going to get anything worthwhile.  If you are fortunate enough to scratch off the five pots o' gold and win the car, then you are the luckiest person in the world. Congratulations on that.

Note that it says the card must be scratched off "in the presence of an authorized representative." I would suggest taking a very bright flashlight or something and see if you can see through the cards. Judging by the marketing, i'm guessing these are lotto-quality cards, but i could be wrong.

Anyway, sorry for the diatribe. Just want to make sure we shut marketing techniques like this. Any company that uses such tactics should be revealed for their lack of professionalism. People take vacations; there is no need to be so effin' sneaky about it.

Not a call, but my elderly aunt got the letter with the "boarding passes" and an offer for a "Free American Express  Gold Gift Card", etc.  She showed it to me and said she thought it was BS but wanted me to check it out.  Glad she did!!

Jus got one of those stupid things n the mail today and I knew it was a scram cause I work to much to sign up for anything. They gave me a number 1-888-768-6150 to call ain't one happen!

I just received the same letter from the AVC TRAVEL and the number that they provided was 1800-309-8595. This can really fool someone. BIG SCAMMERS.
