Got the letter. Made the call.  Simple Googling found the company at this address of 1221 Riverbend is Silverleaf Resorts. This isn't "scamming" people.  It's "advertising".  I know the game and so do you.  See http://www.silverleafresorts.com/adv_tour/igp_tx.html for details on their offer.  You can probably get some very low grade tickets to Vegas in exchange for 2-3 hours of touring their site and enduring the hard sell.  This is called capitalism.  In the 50's if you agreed to buy a Kirby and backed out, they tended to get irate back in the "days of yore" just like today.  I was disappointed by this thread.  It was reactionary and didn't help me with any critical analysis at all.  A five minute Google-venture is all it takes - do the work before you explode next time, please!

Didn't get the call, got the letter with everything everyone else describes.  The number on my letter 800-238-9720 (Sandra or Kim).  Thank goodness for sites like this...INSTANT GOLD GIVEAWAY my a____!

They have a "resort" about 15 miles from my home.
I've recieved the invite by mail many times.
BUT ! We make nowhere near the 45.000 a yr income
to even get the GIFT they offer.
Maybe I should just show up anyway and act like we don't know
the wage requirements,

I recieved a call on my cell phone of this number, but i never answered and they never left a message. then when I went that day to check my mail I got me a letter saying that recently I was entered into there Instant Gold GIVEAWAY. and I had won a new mercedes benz M-class. BMW x5 or Porche Cayenne-Value $49,000 or $40,0000 Cash and etc...I also compared the vouchers telephone number and it matched the same name I am reporting now that had called me on my cell phone. it also has an Arlington address.

I finally called them back to this number 1-888-450-4619 and it was a time share thing plus she explained the Vegas deal which you are responsible for your own meals and expenses and then I told her what i had read on this bulletin that they were a scam and I wanted to know how did they get my number and information from because I never give it out to anyone or never sign any thing for any purpose. so all I heard was a click. she also mentioned the company was is registered with the State Bereau.

Also fogot to mention at the bottom part at the end of the letter it has another address and the address is: thats for you to stop future mailings by contacting AVC Travel at the address below.

Same letter, but most interesting was it was addressed to a woman who has not lived here for TWENTY YEARS!  The card was first class mail, so I wrote "unknown at this address" and put it back in the box. Wonder if they will keep sending?  Maybe I should have written "Deceased, no forwarding address."

Received "Important Travel Documents Open Immediately" from AVC Travel, 2400 W Pioneer Pkwy #210 Arlington, Tx.  The letter also showed AVC Travel, 1221 River Bend, Suite 120 Dallas TX 75247. Phone number to call is 1-800-525-1289. Letter says I won Mercedes Benz M-Clas, BMW X   OR  Porsche Cayenne   OR   $40,000 Cash   OR  $1,500 shopping spree   OR and on and on  with boarding vouchers.  What a joke.  These people are cons for sure looking for their next sucker.

It wasn't a call, but a letter with two tickets inside. One was for my choice of a cruise between Miami and the Bahamas or Galveston TX and the Mexican Riviera. The other ticket was good for a flight from New York to Vegas or Orlando. The number on the letter 1-800-309-8863. I googled AVC, (they're based in Arlington, Tx according to the letter) and found this very helpful and informative list. So it looks like these folks are still up to their old tricks. In addition to the cruise/flight I also told I won a new Mercedes Benz, BMW X5 or Porsche Cayenne, and if not those then a $1500 shopping spree at Saks or and "exotic island adventure." I'm going to send the letter and coupons along to my state Attorney General.

Just received the same phony letter from AVC out of Texas but this time they even printed real looking phony cruise line tickets IE-Carnival Cruise Lines. These are great counterfeit cruise line tickets. Oh forgot to tell you I also won the Mercedes too if I decided to choose it. Always remember if it looks too good to be true///it is so always think first and use your God gifted brain. MD/Boston

I usually just throw everything like this away, but this one looked pretty legit so I did an internet search and wound up here. thanks for saving me time and money. It seams like I should be able to take this letter to a lawyer and hold this company accountable for providing what they  say here. It just pisses me off. They're probably pretty sure no one will go through the trouble to prosecute or sue.

I received a similar voucher/invitation for the sam bulls--t!!  It sounded too good to be true, so I started looking on the internet for them and came across what others had found out. If I were a true winner in this day and age, they would be mailing you or sending you some legitamate mail from the United States Postal Service.

I actually called them because the voucher looks so legit. This lady named Alicia picked up the call and everything sound so fake. She raised her voice to me everytime I asked her a question and when I asked her what exactly do your company do, she was screaming at me. Throughout the conversation, she could never provide me any information about the company or the voucher ticket. Definitely a scam!

Igot the same letter and it looked so authentic, but my husband said the same thing everybody else on here has said.  so I thought I would be smart and look it up and I found this site.  thank goodness!  Ironically, our company gives away free air line tickets to anyone who is interested and it's really legit.  Anyway, thanks for clueing me in!
