- kim replies to They tried to scam me| 10 repliesI got the same letter today but with a different number to call (1-888-768-6150,Telling me that I won all these things and Royak Caribbean International,Carnival Princess Cruise Line. The Bording voucher looks so real. and another choice was Wal-Mart,Macys and or cash or to shop at a few other places that they listed. Looked s real and I am sure that their are a lot of people that fall for it, As someone said it is a time sharing thing I much rather give to the food bank or cancer fund.It is such rip off.
- PS| 1 replyI got the same letter and "PASSENGER AND BAGGAGE CHECK" but the phone number was 1-800-309-8595. I live in Round Rock, Texas. The letter was signed "Susan Murray".
- Melwow I got the same voucher in the mail as everyone, and I thought Id search for more info online, now everyone has me scared..I mean a few yrs ago I received something similar and I did get to go on the Bahamas cruise and a hotel stay in ft. lauderale, and I didnt pay anything but of course they tried to sell us timeshare..and at the time I was about 21, so I turned it down. So when folks say "scam" is that what they mean..because you have to listen to the timeshare crap??

- Teacher Biz replies to Rip off| 1 replyFrom AVC Arlington, I received one new number now. 1-800-327-4614 I have won a Mercedes, Porshe, or $40,000 cash, and a $1,500 shopping spree, Exotic Island Adventure, and $806 ot $500 cash. yeeppee! Oh what tangled webs we weave.
Gainesville, TX - PHUKmeONceShameonyouHow lucky can you get. I won the same contest and didn't even enter! I won a Royal Caribbean International Canival cruise and a trip to Las Vegas.By law they have to list the odds of winning in the offer. Read the fine print on the back.... odds of winning the new car or $40K cash are one in 53 thousand one hundred and thirty.(1:53,130) The $15K shopping spree is 10 in 53,130.

- bostoncranberryI got the same thing in the mail today, did anyone actually win the cars or the trips? this could simply be a a way to lure people to buy timeshares and attend so long boring presentations.
- bostoncranberry| 1 replyIt's true that nothing is free, but is it really that bad to attend a timeshare presentation for 2 hours and win a trip or car. Also the voucher says "to call for details of participation" I'm pretty sure then they explain everything. I'm going to call and see for myself.
- bostoncranberryI called and was told all I had to do was to attend a presentation, the voucher is good for almost 2 years from the date of the presentation, as stated on the voucher you can win the car or the prizes, it's a guarantee to win one of the prizes, 1 out of 100000 to win the car or the cash. The cruise and the trip to Vegas or Orlando is a guarantee. I would do it if the place for the presentation wasn't so far.
- Linn| 1 replyReceived my "cruise boarding voucher" from AVC travel today. I throw away 99.9% of these things without reading them, but this looked interesting because there was no fine print or disclaimers at the end talking about time shares or small fees required - only "certain restrictions apply". So I went to the internet to check it out and found this site. Their phone number was 888-450-4610, but it's obviously the same scam. I could tell by the way my name was printed on the letter this wasn't a random mailing; they must purchase lists in bulk. Thanks for saving me the trouble of listening to their bogus presentation.
- Mark replies to LinnI called just to see what it was about. I asked how I won and they said that myself or a family member entered me into the contest at a mall, neither of which are true in any way. I or my family never have, and never will, enter those scam contests at malls. If they completely lie to me about the nature of the contest, I think that makes quite a case against them for an attorney general. I also read that they take you on a tour and try and hard sell you a timeshare. If you say no, they take you to an office where they want you to fill out paperwork to "claim your prize" and send in a deposit. Of course, you give them deposit money, never receive anything, and continue getting phonecalls and crap in the mail. These people will surely be indicted soon.
- Texas LocalI live very close to Arlington..... there is not an address at 2400 Pioneer Parkway. It does not even exists.... yes there is a street, but no such address. I drove over to that area myself....big scam!
- Skeptical in TXI checked out their website (www.silverleafresorts.com) & found the "rules" for you to review & make your own judgement. YES, you would incur a few charges as some normal necessities during a vacation would NOT be covered. Hmmm.... makes you wonder how much it will set you back!

- J.I wouldn't even begin to think these things are legit. As they normally say "If it's too good to be true, it normally isn't true". I toss stuff like this away with just a glance.
