I got my call from Ellie last week informing me that I won a $50,000 home makeover! Since my Grandma always told me if something sounds to good to be true it probably is I decided to Google the phone number and I am so glad I did. This is such disgusting behavior. We really need a new kitchen floor as I am walking on old thin set on top of subfloor.

I got a call yesterday.  Luckily, I couldn't reach them. They said I had won a $50,000 Home Makeover. [***].  I had entered the HGTV contest, and was hoping it was real.

Guess what - me too! Yesterday, funny how they didn't leave my name on the message.  My name was just pulled for a 50K home makeover for an entry that I filled out at a mall or movie theater.  Thanks to those that post these for me to confirm it's a scam!!

    scam.  Glad I didn't call.

Got the message this morning (7/10/12) from 'Ellie'.  One of the other people posting on this site mentioned Direct Buy which I remember contacting sometime ago.  You have to listen to a sales pitch before they tell you where their showroom is.  What honest company operates this way?  Even if they are honest, it sounds so crooked to today's shoppers only the foolish would deal with them.  Maybe that is the point.

You-all didn't win the $50K home makeover, I did! Ellie said I did, so I must have!

I got the same call and same message.  I didn't call back and won't.  Very sad that people fall for that crap.  I am reporting it to the FCC since we are on the do-not-call list.

I received the same message from "Ellie", July 11th.  Same story, same number, same extension #421.  Even though I figured it was a scam, I tried to call back on the number she left (888-301-0702) but my call was disconnected after 2 rings.

I had the same call about a $50K home makeover, congrats, it was due to filling out some kind of sweepstakes entry at mall, movie theater, etc.  I haven't done any of these things, either.  It's a scam, I'm sure.

I got the same message yesterday.  I had entered on-line for a home make-over, but I am glad that I didn't call since this definitely sounds like a scam.

Just like everyone else on this report we recieved Ellie's message today at 1:05 PM.  Being cautious we realized that this was going to be a scam. The FCC should investigate these calls.  This is an infraction of our freedom and our privacy!  We should not be harrassed by such calls. They are an entrapment.
