I too just got the crazy message from Ellie  I had put my name in also at one of the Home Goods store that just opened.  They must be selling those entries.  Dirty dogs!  Glad I checked the number first before I called back.  I get crazy calls everyday all day long!!!!!!

Got the same message and did call back. Don't mind not winning the $50,000 makeover, but if they are truely giving out airline tickets or cruises, I might be willing to sit through a sales pitch to get them and a $100 dinner certificate. Has anyone else sat through the hard sell, which I would never get.

I'd equate it to a microwave tv dinner and I'd rather starve.

I was called by Elllie today and let the call go to voicemail. I immediately called back. A guy answered and said Ellie had stepped into a meeting, but her computer was up. He asked for my name. I said, "You must have my name because someone from your operation just called me."  I said I rarely enter sweepstakes & don't recall entering one for a $50,0000 home make-over. I said I was suspicious. No one called me back.

I received a phone call from Ellie also on Friday 7/27/12. The message said we won a 50,000 dollar makeover on our home.  I tried to call the number 1-888-301-0702 ext. 421.. It just kept ringing.  Then looked up the number and was lead here. If its to good to be true! Then it must be a scam.

Got the call from "Ellie" yesterday. When I called back, a gentleman answered for the Verification Center. Found out they're in Indiana, and they are making these calls on behalf of DirectBuy. Ellie was not available. Didn't leave msg.

Ellie is still at it! I didn't call her back. I hope she's not terribly disappointed, but maybe someone else can get the "free" home makeover.

Received message from Ellie x 421.  Same story as above. However, when I called back "Ellie" was busy, so the lady said that my ex-wife (who has been out of the country for the last 2+ years) actually filled out the form and that I would need to say we are married to proceed to the final drawing.  She even read me the "requirements" which included that we were married and asked if the statement was true to continue. I said it all was true, except we are not married.  She said we already won 2 round plane tickets.  I told her that in Maryland that if you win a prize, you win the prize and there is no requirement to give additional information, make a payment, or jump through any other hoops.  She got angry and hung up.

'S a call center - I didn't quite pick up the name before being put on hold on 2nd call to complain.
1st call the salesman hung up on me after saying I was guaranteed a round-trip flight to anywhere or a 7-night cruise.  When I told him I didn't fly but *did* cruise all I got was "Ok, thanks", click.

Still on internal hold as I type...  I can leave this line open to them all day with no problem to tie up at least 1 of their lines.

Just today...I got the same message as you..but didn't return call..Instead I just searched this number and found all these comments!

Ellie called me today from 888 301 0702 and left me a message that I won a prize and to return her call at extension 421. I called back, and the representative said that I won a chance for a $50,000 Direct Buy home makeover, a three night vacation, or roundtrip airfare for two. I asked how they got my name and they said I had entered a contest online or in a movie theatre or a mall.  When I asked if I was still eligible for the prizes as I declined Direct Buy membership she said she'd call back in ten minutes. She did repeat the three prizes for which I was eligible: a chance at a home makeover, a three night vacation, or airfare for two. Naturally, I am interested in that promise she made to me. I also asked if she would send me this information in writing.  She hasn't. That was five hours ago. I told her I'd contact my state attorney general to see if her contest was registered with the state of Washington and call her supervisor in the morning. I have been invited to Direct Buy 29 times since I declined their offer, and hope that I can devote a few hours to this to ensure that authorities in my state are aware of contests and promises of this nature. In my opinion, they need more regulation and fees and not less.

Got the same call for extension 421 about at $50,000 make over. I reported a complaint to https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx. If anyone knows a better place to file a complaint. Please do so.

I got the same message as well 6-26-12.  At first i was excited because i did enter a sweepstakes for a home makeover a while back.  But then i checked the internet for "verification center" and the number they were calling from....and found this site.

So im glad i did not call them back,  but sad i didn't win!!

I also received this call. I left a message for William Tate. I hope that I didn't just get myself into a scam....

Yup, just got the MSG today about $50,000 kitchen makeover...however, I have been battling an insurance claim because of a water leak under floor in my kitchen, so I could have filled in form and probably would have called.  Glad I checked out this site first.  Same phone, extension and Elle...drats!  Anything too good to be true...blah blah blah...
