I did not answer because I did not recognize the 888 number.  The caller left no message.  I'm afraid they'll never get an answer from me so I will never know what they want.  Caller ID said "Alliance Amex"

Just got one, what i've been doing with 1-800 numbers is answering with my business name, then i hear a "CLICK".

Jason Greenwood called my secretary and claimed I know him.  Jason Greenwood is a liar.

Received a call about an hour ago that said Alliance Amex, unknown number. Missed the call so googled the name, and found this post. We live in the boonies ! Can't even get voicemail here. This must be the call my mother is getting as she doesn't have call display, she's 83 and doesn't need to be running for the phone. She lives in another town than I. There is never anyone there when she answers it.

PS, we both live in British Columbia, Canada. Now after reading this post I will not answer the call. Thanks.

Alliance Amex is calling from, yes same number 888-310-4157. how do we get them to stop??

I just got a second call Alliance AMEX on call display, so called the TF # kindly listed on this site as we don't have call display. I spoke to "Jim" and asked if they had a DNC list. He said they did, so he took our number and said he would add it. Sounded genuine. Time will tell LOL!

In response to all said here. I worked for alliance and they ARE a real company!! ( and they are in canada...amex has a head office  here 2) They Are calling businesses (and not about credit cards) and they are callin on behalf of amex. They  arent hanging up on u...sometimes, like any call center there can be a delay in connecting the calls. They DO have a DNC list and they do follow procedures regarding this! They DO not call u more than once a day either...They can only call after 2 days of last trying unless otherwise requested by the owner. (system wont even let them)all of the calls are tracked recorded and dealt with in a manner that none of what im reading above is true.
so just to clear up and confusion concerns i am posting this for all who want to know

who u spoke with was being genuine..they honor the internal DNC requests!!  AS for the NDNC List, ppl dont realize that it exempts business to business calls. and they are a business..calling a business...unless there is a wrng nmbr dialed which sometimes happens!

Get regular calls from1-888-310-4157.  Caller ID is Alliance Amex.  They are a pain in the posterior.  I RECEIVE A CALL EVERYDAY AT ABOUT 3:30 P.M. CST.

If you have a computer fax modem, do this: send a blank page to the number 18883104157, setting it to auto redial 500 times (do it before you go to bed at night). It will cost them 5c for every call. Just so you know! I just received a call and heard a mans voice whom didn't respond to me and DID hang up!  Do you think all these people are stupid?  I understand call delays but I actually heard a voice.  What are they selling me is what I would like to know!

I received a call from Alliance AMEX but there was no phone number showing. Somehow they blocked thier number from call display and only showed the name. When I answered, a woman asked for 'Roger'. when i said she had wrong number she asked if this was a business. when i said no, she hung up.

I also got a call from 888-310-4157. They hung up when I answered or there was no answer...still not sure which one.

Thank you to caller ID, I called them back.  It was American Express.

I said to the guy that I just got a hang up from them and then he tried to sell me a new card!! I told him had they not hung up on me, I would have been more polite before asking to be removed from their call list.

He said he removed me.

Im sorry but as stated before,  i have worked there 2 years and believe me ppl the way the system is set up is we cant even enter a call back for the same day more than once. we arent allowed to set a call back till 2 days after the last attempt. ALL of our calls are recorded and monitored and alyurways pulled randomly to be scored for quality and assurance , so i can assure u ppl arent hangin up on u after talking to u or at all. sometimes by the time the call is connected by the computer to u and the agent u might  have already said hello a few times and thought we hung up. believe me, i hear this quite alot throughout my day and apologize but this is how the dialers work sometimes and its the same in most call centers. as for gettin more than one call in a day or call backs after saying ur not interested is only if maybe u have more than one nmbr registered to ur business, or sometimes, and it does happen, we might have a comp issue while trying to disposition a call and it doesnt get entered properly *(or not at all) ive  had this  happen to me...comp freeze for example. i can assure u alliance is a very prolfessional company and work with many fortune 500 companies and they are not out to harrass anyone or stalk u lol...ppl dont understand  with the new national do not call list rules  ALL U HAVE TO DO IS ASK TO BE PUT ON THE LIST and by law they have to...and at alliance THEY DO!!!
ppl continue to ignore the calls or answer and hang up on us etc etc and then come online and complain we call too much...1st of all  WE dont pick and choose who we call so we arent targeting u..the computer does it and it automatic  2nd all u have to do is say once do not call and thats it!! will  as for the one posting the prank call site. i highly doubt that idea would be effective as obviously in a call center there is more than one agent and that call would be given at random, (more than one person, not the same person each time) and even if u were lucky enough to get the same person...li know for a fact that would just be a joke to us..entertainment,. wouldnt be a bother at all!! lol

Would you rather telemarketers go homeless or become criminals to live? as much as you people hate telemarketers, you have to realize that these people are hard working people who need a job like everyone else. You think telemarketers never get called at home? this forum is full of baffoons!!!

Don't care what you do as long as you stop calling strangers. Consider suicide since no one will miss you. There's a boiler room in hell waiting for you, you know.

FYI we do not call "strangers" at random. Our entire call list is taken from collected information that you have given permission to through agreeing to some type of terms and conditions. I would suggest you take more accountability for yourself and read the fine print buddy!
