- JesThis number has been repeatedly calling my place of business for about a week. No one ever answers and then the call disconnects after a few seconds. I called the number back and asked to be placed on their do not call list. The woman I spoke to was very polite. She took my number and said that she would have that number placed on their list. It remains to be seen whether or not I will receive any further calls.

- Jes replies to AngelaCall the number back and asked to be placed on their DNC List. When I did, they were polite and made no attempt to try and argue, or push whatever they were selling.
I'm in Canada as well, and even though I'm on the nationwide DNC list, I still regularly get calls. It's extremely frustrating! - FredThey've been calling my phone and fax #'s for days. Finally called back and told the guy I am on the DNC list. He added my #'s to "their" do not call list (so he says). Now we wait and see...

- Annoyed at work replies to to all concerned"To all concerned: Im sorry but as stated before, i have worked there 2 years and believe me ppl the way the system is set up is we cant even enter a call back for the same day more than once. we arent allowed to set a call back till 2 days after the last attempt."
I have proof on my caller ID history that you DO call several times a day. Sometimes it only shows a number, other times "Alliance Amex" and the number. There have been several days where I have gotten at least 2-3 calls in one day from this company. I work in a busy medical clinic and it is highly annoying to have to run for the phone only to find out that it is this number. I have called back to find out what this is and got an automated voice saying it was Alliance Amex calling on behalf of McMaster (I have no idea what or who McMaster is, voice had a texas accent to it) I followed the steps to take my clinic number off of the list, I hope that it works... - Annoyed at work again...Well after getting a call from these guys last week, I read all the posts on here, phoned them back and got an automated voice saying they were calling on behalf of "McMaster" (Whoever that is) I chose the option to have my work number put on their Do Not Call list. Well guess what, it's Monday morning and guess who is calling, yet again... And the DID disconnect as soon as I spoke, contrary to what a couple of former employees have said earlier in this thread. I made sure to stay on the line but there was the audible "click". I phoned back to leave my numbver for a call back. I want to talk to a real person and ask why when I have opted to be put in the DNC list, I'm still called. This is a busy medical clinic and I don't have time to run to the phone for this kind of BS! (Writing this on my 10 minute coffee break btw)

- RuthThey keep calling me at work - we are a local buisness with an answering machine if I don't pick up so anyone we deal with who is legit will leave a voice message understanding that we are a small local business and often on the other line or with customers so we don't pick up any "UNKNOWN" or 800 numbers or calls from outside of our area code unless we recognize the number, and I keep this website on my favorites bar so that by the time the phone stops ringing I can have the page up that tells me about that number if it's on this page. Same thing at home now too. We are on the DNC lists but that is a joke, so we just don't pick up -- and if I do accidentally I put the phone down while their talking and just carry on my work until they blab on and get no one there!
- BoredGot a call from that number. Nobody at the other end. Caller ID says Alliance Amex. I'm on the DNC list, but it seems they don't respect it. The DNC list is just a bad joke. Paying some lazy people for doing nothing.

- Feeling Harassed replies to King PingGood idea. Thank you for the tip. I try with the next caller.
- morlThey have been calling - didn't answer and they didn't leave a message as other callers have mentioned.
Is there no way these scum bags can be put out of business?
This call came to a 613 number in OTTAWA, Ont. Canada. - AnonymI received a call from this number on my direct line at work, which I did not answer. After reading about them on this a few other sites that I googled, I have since blocked the number on our VOIP so I will never have to see this number again.
See ya telemarketing scumsuckers.- Caller: Alliance Amex
- morlThese scum bags just called to an OTTAWA, Ont. Canada number -- didn't answer because I thought it was a tel marketing company - after looking on this site I was right - they use the working Alliance Amex as a cover.
I'm getting too many calls like this -- it's a real pain -- - HarassedThese idiots called me again despite I reported them several times to the Do not call list. It seems to me that the DNC list is just a bad joke to give some lazy people a paycheque.

Remember when you use to get so much Spam in your inbox that you didn't know what to do?
Well with all the great Spam blockers, notice that we seldom get any now....but lo and behold, the telemarketers have gone 'Old School'. Back to the phone and call and call and call. They get the phone numbers from other companies who all they do is have automatic dialers that are looking for 'live' numbers
and then they sell the numbers to the telemarketers.
It will never stop until we have a good 'Spam Blocker' for our phones.
All I do now is not answer any 800 numbers or any out of State or Prov. numbers unless I know them, or just let it go to Voice Mail.
Legit. companies leave messages. If they dont leave a message, then its not important.
At the end of a day, all these 800 numbers we log into our phone so that when they call, we see Tele-Marketer come up on our call display and we just ignore them.
Hate to say this - but its not going to stop so go with the flow and let them call and call and call, just ignore them.
PS: We have now 20 Telemarketers on our phone display, and many have stopped calling after they get no live person.- Caller: Alliance AMEX
