- kissyberthaI recieved only a voice mail from these people which sounded hateful, but I called it back and actually it was a company I was dealing with aready, it is a collection agency but mine was from a hospital bill which the portion I did owe I paid and they know I am disputing one charge from the hospital, they were very friendly to me. but I was cautious at first I think I caught them off guard by calling them back. I think that these paople that do work at collection agencies are trained to be mean, and I think they only get paid if they make a collection, this may be why they are so pushy. I am sure each and everyone of them have bills and creditors after them too. I think we are all in the same boat these days. but don't be intimidated by collectors and hide from them they can threaten you, I am past the point on worrying they have already ruined my credit report, so what are they gonna do spank me?

- alilokiloki| 12 repliesThey threatened to call me everyday. I told them it was harrassment and that I'd report them and that I'm on the National Do Not Call list. I told them I didn't know what they were talking about and that I'm not going to pay. I told them a $200 collections isn't going to ruin my credit especially since I just bought a house which will really raise my credit anyway. She replied with telling me they will verify my employment and garner my wages. I told them I'd sue them and that only IRS & Child Support can garner wages. I will do the cease & desist letter. I like that. In the meantime I will use an air horn when they call.

- Val| 2 repliesI got a very rude call from this number, and the lady I spoke with (Cybil Jones) was extremely rude, tried to threaten me, and told me I had better make a payment plan w/in 24 hours. I told her I wouldn't until I knew what the bill was for. Come to find out, the medical claim was never recieved by the insurance company-This bill was from 8 years ago!! So, it turns out that I didn't owe this money in the first place. They are a very rude company, and try to scare people into paying w/out knowing what it is for. Don't get scammed!!

- Kay replies to Captain NatalieI ghave received several calls from this number and they are looking for Tommy Brown. I'm NOT Tommy Brown, and I don't know him.....and I asked GeeGee who was calling and she said "why do you want to know?" They are so rude, and they don't care if they have the wrong number.....they're just plain nasty. How do we stop this??? HELP!
- LiquidDrummerThese folks are trying to collect debts. I got a call today from this number and it was from CCI in Tampa, Florida claiming a judgment against me for a debt from 1996. Yes, 12 years old. First off, I have no clue about this debt, so it's funny and second, collecting on a 12 year debt, even funnier. These guys must buy old debts at pennies on the dollar and try to find anyone with that last lame to pay the debt. They even tried calling my relatives first for this.
If you do talk to them, don't sink to their level of rudeness even though you want to. It's our nature to treat them like they do us. Just kindly request a copy of the debt and dispute it. In this case a 12 years old debt is just a waste of time and paper so I don't expect to hear from them. If they keep calling regardless, Google "cease and desist letters" and fax them one.
I've dealt with these guys in the past for very old debts I've never heard of and they will pull every illegal trick in the book. I have credit reports from the last 9 years and laugh when they tell me I owe them something I have never seen before.
Another thing to do with them is to tell them "For security reasons suggested by my lawyer, I will be recording this call for fraud purposes". They hate that and they have hung up on me each time I've said that.
Bottom line...Kill'em with Kindness. Follow the law that protects us and do it kindly.- Caller: CCI

- harrassed replies to Bryan| 6 repliesThis is credit collection Inc.
Their call id is 800-287-3130 and the call back is 888-365-7129
Have a look at the entry on the website under the 800-287-3130 number
Make notes of everything, keep any messages they leave and maintain a written log of all calls, even unanswered ones. - collector replies to Consumer Advocate| 2 replies.. most of what was said is wrong.... unfortunately in a computerized world for us to tell anyone why we are calling involves to access a file in the system to do that we would need a name, phone number, ssn, something to bring up the file.. simply telling you its about a debt is both illegal, and ignorant considering the consumer would most likely hang up at that point. futhermore.. depending on what account it is for.. multiple address may be used for the company to help sort thru the mountains of mail received. so asking for an address before bringing up and account wouldn't help because no address would be available. Furthermore informing someone that is not the responsible party that they are a debt collector is third party disclosure, a violation of the law.... just b/c someone wants to know more.. doesnt mean that they are entitled to that info. this is all a result of the actions done by consumers... not debt collectors...
- another guy named brandon| 2 repliesone of the main guys name is brandon. his direct number is 877-474-0321 call him and ask him why he keeps annoying you. file complaints with phone company and attorney general and ftc for violations and harassments. They shouldnt be calling you trying to get info when you owe nothing. Also dont give them any info - they might be trying to steal your id.
- hatingcreditorsI continually get calls on my cell phone from this number, but never have answered it since I didn't know who it was. I had to find this website to find out who was calling me because the people NEVER leave me a voicemail. From the looks of all these posts, it's a good thing I didn't answer them! It sounds as if they are really rude!
- pk| 1 replyWhat a hoot! I constantly get calls from this number and the one time I decided to answer the phone instead of letting voice mail pick it up there was no one available to speak with me. So I called back without writing down that reference number that was given...I figured if they didn't know how to pronounce my first and last names that the computer was going through a random list and there'd been no genuine input...when the computer supposedly redirected my call to a person it disconnected the call.
After reading the responses posted here I must say this sounds like a really fishy, stink-to-high-heaven, operation. I'm glad I decided to enter the number in my contacts list as 'SPAM ans & hang up'
One more note: In the section Caller Type there should be an option for Computer Generated, because that's what these are - at least for me, because all of the messages on my voice mail, which I had to start to listen to in order to delete, were the computerized voice.- Caller: unknown
- unknown| 2 repliesit is not illegal for them to call you or for them to call your neighbors if you would just pay your debt you wouldnt have to worry about it
- no one replies to alilokiloki| 10 repliesOk first of all the do not call list is for solicitors not debt collectors if you dont pay your bills you will get calls. It is YOUR debt! Second its garnish your wages not garner. And yes collection agencies can garnish your wages if you don't pay. You can sue all you want but you'll end up paying more because you are the one with the debt you either went to a doctor or hospital and didnt pay them or ran up a credit card. Your stupidity not the people who are making a living at a collection agency so they can pay their bills. Do you work for a living or do you live off of the rest of us who work. How bout if everytime you call someone from your work they blow an airhorn in your ear. In fact if i knew you I would make sure everyone you knew would do that to you because its rude and stupid. PAY YOUR BILLS!!!

- Shel| 1 replyThis number called our company with a recording looking for someone ("Lauren Wilson") that doesn't exist at our company and has never been employed with our company. It was a recorded message that had the recording, "if we have reached this as a wrong number, please press 3." When I did, I was placed on hold until a Customer Service Rep came on the phone.
She came on the phone and said, "This is a wrong number for Maria?"
I said, "Well the recording said Lauren Wilson."
She said, "Right, well this number was also given for Maria Gonzalez."
I told her that no one by those names were at this location nor had ever worked here and that this was a company. She informed me that the persons in question "Lauren" and "Maria" put our company down as their place of employment.
I'm "assuming" this is a collection agency. - unknown replies to Go Awayright thats why youre getting calls from collection agencies
