I too received a call from this Company. They informed me I was not personally liable for the debt of my Husband, but inquired if there was a probate or an estate. My Husband left no estate but this is an honest debt that I wanted to take care of. They informed me payments would be voluntary, and I was able to settle the debt that my Husband owed to honor our name.
These people have a right to be calling. It is a debt owed, and they are informing family they are not liable only an estate. The Rep was very compassionate, respectful and polite.
Have respect for all people. They are just doing there job and following up on valid debts owed.

Called and left a message on my voicemail.  They were looking for someone responsible for the estate of my late EX-husband.  We had been divorced 35 years and he left no estate. He battled cancer for ten years and left a lot of debt, none of which I am responsible for, and I have blocked their number.  If we were still married, there would not have been any debt!!

I told them that the account was closed and they said that they would take it to court to get their money. The registrar of wills told me that they haven't a leg to stand on...

Hello and thank you for your post.  We received a call from this number yesterday regarding the recent death of my brother.  It is hard enough dealing with the emotions of a death, let alone the financial hardship that a death brings about without having to deal with scams.  If this company is violating any laws they should be stopped.  I will be looking for your update regarding this company.

To the [***] from Ascension Point who stated : "Stop all the whining! Grow up! Your big kids, now pay you bills!"  This is what a person who directly represents this company has to say to all of us who have lost loved ones.  First off, you are a complete [***] for stating that in your post.  How insensitive are you, let alone, how firm of a grasp of the English language do you have?  "now pay you bills"...  really?  Also, you should have stated "you are", or condensed would be you're, not "Your" you dumbass.  In a sentence, I would say you're a dumb ass, and thats proper grammar.  You need to go back to school buddy.  I bet you are still living on mommy and daddy's couch.

I will make sure to wipe my ass with any unpaid bills as a result of your comment.  Too bad you hide behind your little headset, and pretend to care about anything.  Get a real job you damn loser.  Your company is [***], and you have to work for the scum of the earth; so maybe that is why you post with such angst.  You [***] clowns are not getting a cent from me, and I will make sure to report you to the FTC because I am on a do not call list, and was contacted at 3 of my offices, as well as on my cell. So you are breaking the law, and I will spend some time getting you back for bothering me when my father died 4 months ago.  Class action anyone?

I just recieved a call from Acension Point, wanting to speak to the family member handling the affairs of my Deceased husband. They requested a call back.  Thank goodness I am not calling back. I am thoroughly discusted by the nerve of these criminals.  My husband had some accounts in his name and now he is deceased, therefore, they are not my responsibility.  Thank you for your site!

Thank you for the info.  I just received a letter asking for money to settle a debt for a deceased family member from AscensionPoint Recovery Services, LLC.  I suspected it was a scam.  I will definitely not respond to this letter or any phone calls from them!

Today I recieved a letter requesting Over $5,000 on the $10,000 Debt That I don't owe. I wrote a letter stating that there is no Estate , no assets, no insurance, no will. I also told them to stop all communication on this matter. Then I followed with the fact that if they ignore this request, I will be contacting the FTC and Illinois State Attorney General. I attached their letter and billing to the letter. Sent it Certified, return receipt.  These people are the scum of the earth!!

Not only was I blessed with a phoney baloney letter from these vultures today, I just got another phone call from a Rebecca at extension 4082, requesting to talk to whoever is handling the affairs of my Deceased husband.  I already sent them a Drop Dead letter, so we'll see what happens. I am keeping record of the phone calls and letters.  Hopefully, I will be making some money off these people. FTC is next!

I find it interesting that the letter that I got was for the estate of xxxxxx.  The xxxxxx was the name my wife had two marriages ago.  There has been not letter from the credit card company that supposedly gave this account to AscensionPoint.  If my wife was that easy to find with this company how come the credit card company could not send any bills for the last 8 years.  I think those that state this is a legit company acutually work for this company.

I have been receiving these calls on average of 2-3 per day for the last few weeks. It is really getting annoying. I think the # is 877-538-0540 or 888-420-2510. They say they are Ascension Point claiming to be the representative of the estate of a person who is unknown to me.

Got a call from this phone number and stated that if I was the family member of the deceased person they said, it was my ex brother in law that they had an important message about a debt.  It has been 3 years and now calling.  We do need to stop these. Am going to report this to my states attorney also.  What is becoming of people calling 3,5 even 20 years after the death. They ony have 90 days.

So glad I found this information out.  Just got a call from this company through my step daughter.  This company was calling on behalf of my deceased ex husband--we have been divorced since 2002!!!!  I am still in shock they contacted my step daughter--how in the world did they find her???  Our names are not even close!

Scary this type of thing exists, especially when people are still dealing with the death of loved ones.

I have been receiving numerous unwanted phone calls from this number: Ascension Point Company. I never answer my phone, I let calls go to voice mail. I finally got SO tired of these calls, that I called them,  and told them to STOP calling me, and that I felt it is harrassment. They don't like that word-so use it! The person was very polite, asked what my number  is that they have been calling, and stated they would take me off their list. She said that they won't know it is a ''wrong number'' unless someone tells them. I said YES! - my number is a wrong number, and STOP calling it! She  said OK.
We shall see. If you are sick of these calls, do what I did-tell them you feel it is HARRASSMENT, they will stop !
(Well--let's hope so!) Will let you know if I get any more calls.
You have to stand up to these types of companies.,
Keep it direct and to the point, don't get mad, or cuss and yell at them, just state : STOP CALLING ME-IT IS HArRASMENT!
