- Kate| 1 replyHave had two of these calls in the last few days. Hung up the first time. This time told the caller it was not a good time and he gave me the 8885141650 number for a callback. Identified himself as "George Williams", Indian accent.
- PeggyJust had the same call as all the others posted. I only talked to the guy because the accent, scripted comments and transfer to another person more knowledgeable was exactly like my HP Support call I made last week. Interesting that it was the same. Complained to HP....guess we will see if they do anything.

- notamused12 replies to Chris Boston Mass.| 1 replyit is suposed to be 1stopemarket.com. They told me they were from Microsoft. I was stupid enough to believe them when they finally convinced me I had the july 9 virus. I gave them access and when they were done and I figured out that it was A lie trying to make me believe that this was true. I spent all next day checking it out.Had to do a restore on my computer. ATook me all day to ste it right. I personally am not done with these scam artists. I have already reported them to the fbi and will continue to make there lives interesting.

- JackI really could not understand this guy, having a strong Indian accent. so I never did get the full name of the company, after asking several times. It was something-something E-Market.
I knew it was a scam, and I just drilled him with one question after another until he hung up. I also had my speaker phone on and I know it gets quite loud when I am close to the mic and I talk extra loud, because I've had family & friends tell me it even hurt their ears when I wasn't even trying. So, I know this guy with headphones on and me being extra loud, right next to the mic and drilling him with comments and questions and interrupting him wasn't too happy or comfortable because I played "The Obnoxiously Loud American" until he finally hung up.
The main thing though, is that the 1-888-514-1650 number was only the callback number he gave. The actual number they are calling on now is 1-333-260-2212.- Caller: Something EMarket

- yrtyrtyrtyurt replies to DeeHe gave me a DIFFERENT English name - Sean Blasford. Highly suspicious.
- 1JEF replies to notamused12Good start on the restore but you need to make sure that you change your IP address. Even though you did a restore, there is a good chance that your service provider assigned the same address. With that information, a smart person can still get a lot of info about you and your service provider. It also gives them a starting point to gain access to your system at their convenience. Not trying to be negative or discount what you have already done, I just know what these sites/people are capable of. What may seem a victory to you (yay! no more calls, their number is blocked!) is a game winner for them (I don't need to call you, I can just go straight to your computer, get what I want, look through your stuff and get what I really want... contacts, including phone numbers. YES, phone numbers that are saved when you back up your iPhone or Android. If you have an older phone, you should be ok.) I am also making these guys a project and hope to get them shut down. I hate bullies, and these guys are the worst kind because they prey on lack of knowledge and fear. Best of luck to you and to everyone who is being affected by these scam artists. I hope to see these guys shut down soon. Just remember, if you don't know you need something until someone tells you, you probably don't need it. If something is or goes wrong, YOU make the call, not them, and, it's a call to someone you know, not a strange person/company
- JBHYes these idiots are pushy idiots and do not listen when you say no. I was close to saying f-u, but took the number and told them I would call back. Yes they said they were with Microsoft at a company called One Stop. They are frauds- just called them back and made it very clear with profanity to take us off your call list and he tried to tell me he couldn't help until I told him I was about ready to come through the phone after them and I would call my attorney and file charges against them for fraud if they did not stop calling us. He did tell me he did not appreciate my profanity I said fine just take me off your list and you will not have to hear it again.

- Jan Medford, MAThis is the third time I have encountered the barely intelligible Indian accented person trying to get me to go through steps on my computer claiming to represent microsoft and attempting to clean up my computer.
The first time I fell for it until he got to the point of asking for money to fix the so called virus.
The steps he took me through were quite convincing and believable.
I was at my son's home in a neighboring town the other day and low and behold, the private caller was again this person who claims to represent a business that has headquarters in NYC........I did get him to give me the toll free number that I would not call. His name was Albert William, rather American sounding for a person, who admitted that he was calling from India.
The third time was yesterday, again at my home I could not believe it. Even when I threatened to report him, it did not seem to deter him from his pitch.
This group needs to be put out of business to stop them from preying on the less sophisticate computer user.- Caller: E-Arcade
- Carlos M VillalobosGot the same call saying my computer was downloading viruses and I needed to follow his directions to fix the problem. Asked his name and Number and who the company was, said it was 1 STOP-E-MARKET, and his name was JAY SMITH (THE GREAT-SCAMMER) from new York. He had a very strong indian or middle eastern accent. The number he gave was 888-514-1650, but my caller ID showed 23-456-7809

- SuannThis call has been made 3 times to my parents home - under the name of Roger. He said it was a 'pick up' call. Gave the 1-888-514-1650 number to call back. My mother could not understand which resource company he was with (we agreed on a list of questions to ask). She is now asking me to call Roger back ASAP! Thank you Google and all the other individuals who have added their comments here!!!!! I can now tell her say - hold on a second - and play Rush Limbaugh until he hangs up.

- MicheleI just got this call, total scam
- SandraMy elderly mom just bought her first laptop from Best Buy. The caller mentioned her recently purchased computer and asked her to give information from the bottom of her screen. She couldn't understand his accent and even if she had her computer in front of her (it's at MY house!!), she doesn't have internet access. Apparently she needed to download some programs or software to make her computer run faster. The guy she spoke to said his name was Tony, but he had a heavy Indian accent and was a fast talker.
He left a call back number: 888-514-1650 - BrianSame guy called me three days ago. Barely intelligible Indian or Pakastani accent, claimed to be named "Charles Brown" (really!!...) An obvious scammer. I didn't stay on the line long enough to hear his entire pitch, but I'm reassured hearing that he is just trolling and trying to sell some fake virus protection rather than any sort of sophisticated or targeted "Spear phishing." Even with a weak pitch like this that only hooks one sucker out of 20 calls, he probably nets enough $$ to make it worth his while.
- marilynwanted me to open my computer, because i have unknown bugs. same comments as others. a heavy indian accent his name is michael. told him no
- Midwest user replies to Kate"George" called me today also. I told him to just tell me the steps and I will check my system later, he wouldnt go for that. If there were really that many computers infected as he claimed it would be all over the news.
- Ellen Brout LindseyThe caller said his company could help me clean up my windows computer. They call every few months. Pleae make them stop calling!

- Willow replies to RAMUI think several (most, actually) posts here indicate otherwise. Nobody but you or a reputable computer repair shop should be accessing your computer, period.
