- JoanGot a call today from E support live. Heavy Indian accent. Extremely difficult to understand and I have Indian friends so I'm even used to the accent! It took forever as I had to keep asking him to repeat himself. Tried to say that the computer had a virus and would be non-functional. Kept stating that he worked for windows tech support. I asked him flat out repeatedly if his company worked for Microsoft. Wouldn't say yes or no, just kept repeating that he worked for windows tech support. Told him I had a Mac not a Windows machine. His reply was that x x (my husband's name) has a windows machine (which is true). Then tried to get me to turn it on. I lied and said I didn't have my husband's password, then wrote his phone number down and googled it. No way on earth am I doing anything at the request of a cold caller without checking it out first.

- Lee| 1 replyGot this call and he asked for me by name. Caller ID said 1-011-767-2759 so I assume it originated out of the US. Said his name was George Willis (Williard, Williams?) Said it was about my computer and his call back was 888-514-1650. He was not very friendly and hard to understand due to the poor phone connection, so hard to imagine this would not send off alarm bells even for a trusting person. Nonetheless, be careful out there.

- LeighJust got a call from a private number, an Indian guy saying he's calling from e support live and they support the people that use Windows. He saw that I was downloading viruses. When I asked for the company name, number and while address, he kept saying valley cottage, ny ??? I asked for a more specific address and he hung up.

- Seriously?Got a call from Robin Moraless in Valley Cottage, NY. What a fitting last name. Nice gentleman actually calling from India.
I used to live in the town next to Valley Cottage. Asked for his street address, buuuuut, "Robin" couldn't quite come up with it.
Kept my pal, Robin, on the phone for about 15 min. Kept stringing him along, then mid conversation, while I was talking, I pushed the call end button. Hoping to provide a service to others who might be preyed upon by wasting Robin's time.- Caller: esupport-life.com

- Amy J NashReceived a phone call a few days ago on my home phone (a gentleman (JAY SMITH) with an Indian accent that wanted me to go to my computer from because I had a virus. The number came up as a private caller and the only reason I answered it was because I thought it was a family member. I asked him how did he even know that I have a computer. At the time, my computer was not on. He kept telling me how he was going to help me. I asked him his name and what company he was calling from - he did would not give me that information. I told him I thought this call was a scam and that he should remove my name and number from his list. He hung up on me!
Two days before I received call from my daughter, received a similar call from JAY SMITH on her cell phone. She told the person on the other that she did not have time to do what he wanted and assured him that her computer was fine and did not require his help.
On 22/01/2014 a co-worker of mine also received a simliar call at her elderly mother's home and they asked for her mother. He told her that he was going to help her eliminate unwanted files on her computer. Feeling very uneasy about this, she asked for his name, company and phone number. This is what she got:
JAY SMITH , One Stop e Market Computer Maintenance Co. 1-888-514-1650.
As stated by other folks who posted, this company must be violating some laws as they are cold calling folks and possibly scamming the elderly and and bilking others for services that they likely do not need. Not too mention if they give them remote access to their computer the damage that can be done.- Caller: One Stop e Market

- wijmgI got a phone call tonight from a George Williams, strong Indian accent. He said he was calling from e support live for Microsoft and there was a problem with harmful files on my laptop computer. He said he was calling all registered Microsoft customers. He wanted me to run msconfig to check the files on my computer. I didn't get any farther with him as I had to go. He gave me the call back number of 1-888-514-1650.

- Elspeth replies to peter philipsActually, YOU people are foolish - because you keep posting the same thing over and over again, expecting that people will fall for your BS - and they don't.
- FreedomF replies to peter philipsPeter Phillips - great Indian name BTW.
Perhaps that's "a reason you are have to" keep switching numbers. I got 6 calls this week from all different numbers, all from Indians who couldn't speak the language they are trying to scam people with.
Indians mean one thing & one thing only to me now - air duct cleaning & "Windows" wannabes. - Moss replies to Lee"George Williams" from the "technical Department" from "E-Support Live" called here yesterday asking for me by name. Gave the 888-514-1650 when I took a message for myself. It would be stupid to fall for the scam described by others on this site, but the callers know just enough to draw you in with their offer to help solve computer issues (because we all have them).
- MassachusettsI received the same call asking for access to my computer. Tech support for Windows XP, 7 and 8, offering to help clean my laptop of unwanted/unsafe files because it was running slow. Apparently, Massachusetts and Kentucky are badly his with these problems at the moment! Ridiculous! His name was Cadick Edwards with a strong accent. He became frantic when I said I would call him back after having spoken to my husband. He asked who was in charge of my laptop! The caller ID no. for him came up as ROSEAU DM 767-275-9061. He gave me the callback number as 888-514-1650. Probably serious phishing trying to get into my laptop to get passwords, etc.
- Joanne| 1 replyI received a call from a female with an Indian accent who gave her name as Nanct Brown. She claimed to have information that my Windows 8 was slow logging on and offered to help me fix it. She also assured me that since she was giving me a call back number this proved it was not a scam.

- R. E. ColemanReceived a call from this number. Wanted me to open my computer. Heavy Asian accent, could not really understand well what he wanted. I asked the name of his company. He said esupportlive. I asked for the phone #. He gave me this #. I told him I know computers could pick up viruses and how could I know he wasn't just trying to scam me. He said if he was then he wouldn't have called first. He hung up on me.

- JanieI got the same call only I let him remote in and eventually hung up and will never use that computer again as it was on its way to be recycled. Feel so stupid as I knew it was a scam from the start. Don't know why I didn't hang up immediately. They wanted $269.00 for the protection package.....would settle for $169.00. Right. Told me they were calling millions of people...sure. Best Buy told me to go on my tablet and change all account usernames and passwords and use the tablet. I don't have any files downloaded but I am concerned about my email and maybe content I am not even aware of. ..should I be? Password is changed but not email address.

- belle replies to MoonsongGot my 4th call (in less than 2 weeks) this morning. This time it was eSupport and the phone # on my caller ID was 1-302-261-5402, in addition a second set of numbers came in 12022040484 (could it be these numbers indicate the call is from an international number?) These calls are coming in around 8:30 a.m. or late evening. Today I took time to ask the name of the caller David Watson (strange name for a very asian sounding person) - I probed about where they are located and he said Valley Cottage, N.Y. but when I asked for the zip code he didn't have a clue what I was talking about. He said that they were the agent for Microsoft Windows and that I was the registed user for my computer -- how do they get this information from Microsoft??? I finally gave up trying to get information and told him I knew it was a scam and I am on the "do-not-call-list" and any future calls would be reported. How do we stop this type of problem? Between the calls that my automobile is now out of warranty and I must purchase additional warranty insurance and the computer calls I'm extremely frustrated. Anyone out there have any suggestions? So far the Do-Not-Call-List has not been effective for me.
- RmgI have just been fooled by this company! Heavy Indian accent, July Watson, Bennie Jones, and a third person I can't remember. Now I'll have to clean up my computer to make sure I get it un-scammed and will cancel credit card. Thanks!

The guy's name was Frank, couldn't understand him kept trying to tell him that, very aggressive just keeps calling me on restricted no/private name I do not answer! - Charlie replies to Tamianth| 5 repliesHi. It is not scam. They are charging $269.99 and providing a 7 inch tablet. They are genuine and providing support. They give a callback to their valued customers time to time and ask whether do I have any issues with my system or not. Scam company doesn't do that. I found this company legitimate.
