I have Humana Rx prescription service with RightSource and I DID CALL back the number 888-538-3518. It IS Humana and it is RightSource prescription refill service. I do my meds mail order which saves me standing in line 5 times a month at our super slow Walmart pharmacy. Having a humana prescription drug plan DOES NOT put you on the call list automatically. You have to "opt in" for the call.

Here's how it is supposed to work. If you go to their website with your Humana ID, you can register there to be reminded every 90 days that you are close to time to refill your meds. When you sign up for that, the computer automatically calls whatever number you've given it a few weeks before your 90 days supply runs out as a courtesy.

How did I solve this huge mystery? I simply called the number back! BOOM DONE! So easy!

    Where's your PROOF?

I called them back and nobody asked me for money. It's part of an "opt in" service provided by RightSource/Humana to remind you when your meds can be refilled if you have the 90 day supply service. The statement "the real Humana doesn't call you" is flat out false.

888-538-3518 called me and I almost blocked it, but decided to call it back. It's from the RightSource prescription service for Humana generated automatically by computer to remind subscribers in the 90 day Rx refill service that they can refill their prescriptions again. It goes out a few weeks before the subscriber runs out of meds. The person I spoke with did not ask me for money. They asked me what they could do for me today. This is a service they offer that I had opted in for. Not all Humana Rx plans include the reminder call. If you registered online for Humana coverage, check your preferences.

The 1-888-538-3518 is from Right Source and they are a pharmacy contracted thru Humana.  They call even if you are not a customer.  I asked them to take me off their call list and they don't.  They call every day.  Shortly, they will be identifying themselves as Humana Pharmacy.  They are the same dog but with a different spot.  I have call blocking and it works.

You can download an app called Mr. Number and it will block all your unwanted calls all day if you choose.  If you have a landline there is a Panasonic phone that will block 300+ calls.  It is worth the investment.  After awhile they get the hint and there is silence.

The phone # won't show up as Humana.  It is from Right Source which is contracted thru Humana.  It is not a legit Humana #.  They are a mail order pharmacy and want to do business with you.  All they need to do is ask for your birthdate and you are in their system.  From there they will try and sell you to do business with them.

    Carol in Texas 4/23/15
Again I am thankful that there are sites like this - and I keep a running list of the numbers and who they supposedly are and a summary of complaints for future reference).   (I was surprised that the messages on this site were NOT being organized with RECENT calls first. I had to scroll way down to find a 2015 call to make sure it was the same caller.) I DO NOT answer 800 or unrecognized area code numbers unless I absolutely know who it is. I know important callers WILL leave a voice mail. I get calls from places in Texas and other places in the nation and  I did look up the complaints and BLOCK them --  I have a smart phone with Verizon. ). That being said -- I signed up with HUMANA in March and became effective 4/1. I set my account up as soon as I was approved. I even got an email (my preference) thanking me for setting up my account on-line and told me to call if I had any questions. I had set up my account info and put in all info they asked for so there should be NO ONE calling me from HUMANA for personal and medical info for a "survey" of my health concerns so they can assist me with the right "plans and programs". But another number has been calling me for days and finally left a voice mail  to call back when I have a few minutes to complete the survey. (Other complainants on these "who's calling" sites said the number belonged to Humana and they had the same complaints as me.) Not calling them back should be a clue I will never be READY.  Then when I went in YESTERDAY to complete everything on the mail order pharmacy page (Right Source) linked to the Humana site -- which is who all of you say this number  belongs to. I got refills from my previous provider/Rx to last me a couple of months so I have not sent Humana/RS new Rx's to start my 90 day refill program. (neither have I filed a medical claim yet. )  I imagine that is what the person at the number is calling about. The fact that I set up my Rx account should show them I am on top of things! I listed ALL preferences for notifications and corresponds to be through E-MAIL -- even if the email says to go to my account and check my secure messages.  Some of the people receiving calls from these two numbers say they do not HAVE Humana. But I think that even if we do -  it is a third party calling (even though I showed a preference to NOT receive calls from affiliates or 3rd parties). They are probably trying tell us about OTHER OFFERS available. I am NOT giving my info to someone who SAYS they are with Humana -- by phone - by calling ME or ME calling THEM back.  Even when j get a call about a late payment on a credit card and that I can pay it on line and avoid  late fees --- I tell them I will check it out and I go through the company site -- and most often I DID miss it and I pay it on line immediately. )  My previous insurance Rx did call me and always left a recorded message that they had a question about an Rx -- and to call the number on my card -- or tell me my Rx has been shipped. I would advise ALL of you to NOT answer these calls -- or RETURN  a voice mail call (unless I recognize the number OR I know that I just asked for a refill or whatever.- but usually I call the company through the main number to check it out.  At least with all of your help I can ASSUME it IS Humana related and not worry about it too much. I KNOW they can email me -- they even did to answer a survey about my dealings with a Rep that had just assisted me.  Hope this info helps - not only regarding THIS number but other unknown or annoying calls.

The caller ID said Humana, but in 3 attempts to reach me they never left a message. I would pick up the phone if they called when I  was next to it, since I use Right Source.

However, when Right Source called to leave an autobot reminder that a prescription needed refilled, that ID just said "800 caller" so I let it get to voice mail. I called back yesterday to that number to confirm the refill.

If Humana is actually using the number in this thread, then they should leave messages. Otherwise it is most likely spam or a scam.

I don't answer calls from unknown numbers, and generally block them.

Thank you, GC Lee! It is Humana, and they have many different toll free numbers, not all are listed on their website. No big mystery, or scam, just simply ignore the call if you don't want to speak with them.

You are absolutely, right!  They should figure out a way to have caller ID say that, because almost all calls
with an 888 prefix and no name on the caller ID are scams. I REALLY like the Humana service (they are changing
the name from Right Source). So far, all my prescriptions that I paid for at Walgreen are free through them.
