In addition to what R M Rode said (which is excellent!). this may very well be a SCAM to illicit money from you!  * R M Rode:Let me get this straight.  People should ask R. M. S. Collection Agency for a settlement on an alleged debt that they do not owe?  Plus the collection company is willing to settle for half of the alleged monies owed because so far, they have not been able to collect on the alleged debt.  Furthermore, the simple fact that a representative from the collection agency is posting information on this string on this seems like the collectors for the company are already trying to harass and intimidate those people from which it is trying to collect. It is a good idea to know what collectors can and cannot due.  Understand your rights when a debt collector calls.  Google FDCPA it is the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

I say hello. They ask who I am.  I say who are they looking for. They can't tell me. So who are calling is top secret? When I workedi in customer service and collections had to call someone, they asked for the person they were calling for. It wasn't a game of twenty questions. They wouldn't even say who they were. Either they are acting illegally, our it's a scam

These pieces of subhuman garbage and scum call any day of the week, at any time, month after month.  Nothing stops them, nothing.  I owe no debts of any kind.  If we can't get laws to shut these piles of fecal material down, we need to find some other way.  Anyone for forming a small group of visiting operatives?

These folks called me tonight. When I called back, no one answered. In all likelihood, I won't call them back. Blocked their number. I have enough medical debt to last a lifetime that I'm trying to pay off. I have to admit that I have no love for this "free enterprise  capitalist" system on steroids that exploits peoples fears and anxieties all for the almighty dollar. The shame of it is that a lot of banks and financial entities are setting up all sorts of satellite  and dummy corporations that are outsourcing and scamming consumers out of millions of dollars that they may or may not owe. Mysterious and murky individuals are setting up fly by night operations to "loan* ppl fast money than come back around yrs. After the fact calling ppl up and making false and totally bogus claims that ppl will go to jail if they fail to repay on pay day loans. This is the result of free wheeling capitalist non sense that ppl in this part of the world are willing to put up with, why? Money and material wealth aren't worth having if you have to destroy other ppls lives to get it. I'd rather be poor and spend eternity in heaven then pick ppls pockets out of greed and avarice and  wind up being tortured and tormented forever in a devils hell.

No Genius, Socialism is simply another political ideology. Not paying a Scammer who's working for a budget JDB, or fraudulent debt collection outfit, is just common sense.

My dead in-law owed a lot of unsecured debt to cc companies. We used to say she had passed on after spending years in a nursing home and the debts were hers alone. We now tell them to subpoena her to go to court and collect her debts lawfully. Funny, she never gets subpoenaed to go to court.

Called me toaday. Not sure why. No debt but one credit card. Glad I came here. This looks like a scam

Never admit to ANY debt while talking to debt collector. Deny everything and ask for prove that debt is yours. There statute of limitation on every debt and in most cases it is between 3 and 7 years (credit card, line of credit, medical bills etc.). These companies are buying your debt many times over from other debt collectors and almost never have any actual proves that that debt exist. But, once you admit to debt, the statute of limitation starts again. I had them calling about "Platinum Credit Card" with outstanding balance of $6500 that they are willing to "settle" for only $1,500. They have access to your credit file and see your credit to use ratio. In my case I had 20K line of credit and only using about $500.00 of it. They actually told me on the phone - "You have money, settle it otherwise we 'll see you in court on Friday". Too bad for them, I knew the law in my State. I never admitted to the debt and told them that even if it was mine, they are about 5 years too late to collect. It was the end of it. Just a heads up, maybe it helps someone.

Do not fall for them being debt collectors.  They have been calling my new prepaid number that is not even registered with a real name.  I am sure if I ever got to talking to them that they would suddenly 'discover' some past due debt, which based on the above they would be getting via a credit report (after 'accidentally' dropping the call and counting on me to call back on a registered phone), not necessarily a real debt but they could figure out who I usually do pay.  Anyone that has ever tried to recover money in court knows 'see you in court on Friday' is a total fantasy.  More like 6 months to get a hearing, 3 more months to get the judge to reinstate the case, 2 more years on procedurals, etc, etc..  (and court in session on Friday? In front of someone with a giant pension who can not be fired? stop it, you're killing me!)

Another scammer...all of you know where you can go!

3 calls in the past 3 months with ZERO detail...........judging by the other shared "experiences" in this comment "train", there is enough bad experiences to go after this agency. Please share your experiences if you have been able to call off the DOGS......!
