Called left message and said that she is coming by my place of employment to drop off paperwork or if not here at my home... left no other information

Calls my cell and my work number and leaves message stating they are going to serve me at home or at my work if I don't call them back.  They leave no other information.

Called and left a message stating she was coming by my home and if not at home she is coming to my job.  Left no other information.  First of all they do not call before serving you they just show up.

I got same message has to be a scam- very threatening saying they needed residence verification and If not they would come to place of employment

IGNORE & block the caller - if there was an actual summons coming, you would not be warned.  The ID & supervisor comments are to scare you.

Received a voicemail from Heather Lockwood that she was going to serve me at home or my job. The message said that I need two forms of I'D and a supervisor to be a witness.

Just received the same voicemail as above.  They would not call and warn you about being served. I have no outstanding debts so why I would be receiving this I have no idea.  Plus they wanted a supervisor to be a witness. I called the 888 number at 10:50am.  It just rings then a recording picks up and says I've reached them after business hours?????

Clear violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  Ignore and block any calls from  888-587-7404 or the CIDs mentioned above.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

I called the number back and they supposedly tried to locate Heather who was out in the field.  They claimed I had an old credit card bill that I had not paid and there were revolving credit charges to the tune of $4000 but the arbitrator Mrs. Washington would accept $659.

Call 6-8 times a day.  Sometimes 2-3 right after each other.  Never gives any info, just they are going to serve me.

They got me. I spoke with Ms. Washington. Made payment arrangements.  Found out they are not even affiliated with the company that I owe. I cancelled my card before the first withdrawal. What a terrible thing to do to a disabled person with m.s. or to anyone.

She left harassing phone number calling me

Claims to be a process server. When I called the 888-587-7407 number she says that I am being charged with a fraud from a bank I had an account with 8 years ago. I called the bank in question and their fraud dept said I owed them NOTHING.

Keep getting these too! So frustrating!

Heather is now calling using a local number instead of an 800 number. Same recording, name number and all.
