- knightmare3000I got a call on January 17,2010. said they wanted me to be a success. gave no company name. just phone number; schedule for appointment. It sounds like a scam. some insurance company. it gets into giving out info, i.e. identity theft. Or, worse yet, you buy a franchise type outfit and get paid by commission. this was chronicled on the website www.scam.com you never get enough in commissions to pay for what you give in advance to get the list of names to contact for sales . your account could be used for money laundering or a transfer agent for funds from illegal sources . furthermore, it could be a classic 419 Nigerian scam. eventually your bank account gets cleaned out. so forget it. also DO NOT RETURN CALL. it can use your number to get further info on you. FORGET IT!
- AmyPretty much the same incident. I got my call February, 16th. I live in the greater Houston, TX area. A voice mail was left because I was at work and therefore not answering my phone. I was highly suspicious of a recording that didn't leave the name of the company it was calling from, or any real information for that matter. All it left was this number, and because I was afraid of what happened when I called and I'm tired of listening to scams I did a search for this number and came here. Thank you all for basically confirming my suspicions.
I read the ripoff report link at the bottom of the first page, and I see why they are so desperate to find people, anybody with sense or needing to pay bills wouldn't work with them long. Also I keep getting the same blanket e-mail from them. This type of thing is so annoying and frequent its why I hate job searching.
Here is the computer message I received:
You're resume was received by our company. We think you have the skills and abilities we need. We're hiring! We would like to discuss having an interview with you this week. To schedule an interview please call 1-888-673-4109. - MikeysAlia| 1 replySame thing. Didn't answer because I never do unless I know who it is. Deleted and reported. Thanks to everyone who left these postings for other suspicous people like me!
- xxxi don't even have a resume online they called me a few days ago from 972-200-9825. this number is similar to a phone number i was recieving phone calls from last year regarding extended warranties on my car and refinancing my home loan. incidentally i didn't own a car at the time and have never owned a house.
- KatSame thing happened hear. Voice mail saying to call this number 18886734109 to set up for interview no company or persons name. I agree, this is definitely a scam!

- CorbinYou all realize a real person was calling but since they got your message it turns automated.
- thisisbogusthis is a Solicitor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Don't bother...I think they get information from Career.com
- Caller: Insurance
- JoeUnfortunately this is what happens when you post resumes on sites like HotJobs, Monster and Career Builder.
Which is why my resumes on those sites:
1. Have a free voicemail I use that I don't care about.
2. Have no physical address listed, just the city.
3. Have an email address I don't care about.
So, when I received this BS call today I just clicked delete.
The number and email are obviously able to get collect info from real employers and when I meet them in person and determine their legitimacy, they get my real info. - kk| 1 replyGot a call tonite from 888 200 9825. Said same thing. Yes, I am looking for work, but no, I am not calling them back. Any 'company' who does not identify themselves, sorry, I'm not biting. Desperate times, brings out the scammers. Be aware!
- Kansas| 5 repliesA few weeks ago I received something similar on my text messaging and when I investigated the phone number's origins it show to be a scam - when you call the number it CHARGES you a fee! I looked up both this number and the 972-200-9825 number they called from. Both look like the same fishy business and I will not be calling them.
- tl replies to kkGot the same message 1 hours ago. I won't be calling them back.
- SN| 1 replyThanks for the info. I too received the call, and it is exactly as you said. Needless to say, I will not be calling back. I almost bit into a phony E-bay scam that left a bad taste, a few years ago. But, it made me a wee bit smarter. Weird things is, I am home most evenings and they never called. The one night I'm out, they called. Is BIG BROTHER watching?

- LatriceI received this mysterious call last night regarding setting up an interview. At first, I thought that maybe I entered an online application and this was some new type of technology being used to contact potential job candidates. Then, I was going to disregard considering that I am somewhat of a conspiracy theorist but, I called the number anyway this morning to find out what company would use an automated system to set an interview. As many of you have stated, I can't find any information. I did leave a message though--probably shouldn't have :( THIS SOUNDS LIKE SOME TYPE OF SCAM TO ME! I am going to check on the website www.melissadata.com to search this phone number 1-888-673-4109 in hopes of locating a company or person connected to the number.
