- KME| 2 repliesI kept getting calls from this number but they never left a message. Later when I picked up I spoke with a Mr. Riddick and he said they were a collection agency collecting on a medical debt. I didn't know I had a medical debt since I paid all my medical debts off. They told me that my bill was in collections since January of 2008 for a service that was done in December 2007. I found that kind of odd because normally accounts do not go into collections one month after a service is done. It takes about that long for the insurance company to submit anything to the hospital and the hospital has to send out the bill. He said I should have received a letter from Argyle or a phone call. They told me a letter was sent out three times to my home address and I was called 6 times on my cell phone, which they never left any messages. I told him if this was a collection agency then the logical thing to do is leave a message to have me call them back. Why would I not pay a bill especially if it's in collections? The last thing I want is my credit report to be messed up. I told him they needed to send me a copy of the letter that was sent out so I know this is legit because I was not going to pay a collection agency I never heard of money for a debt I didn't know existed and do not have anything on record stating they were trying to reach me. I also asked him to send a statement of the bill that has money owed on so I know what they are referring to. He told me I needed to submit a letter of request for the billing statement, but he would fax over something in writing stating they were trying to reach me.

- A. Scam? replies to KME| 1 replyI just recieved a csll from this number. Is it a scam of some sort?
- tae-bo replies to A. Scam?just received a call at work from them. wtf. my cell phone had a missed call 2 min earlier from an UNKNOWN.. coincidence?
- cdubbs| 2 repliesYes, I too have been in contact with this company. They are called Capia Partners and they claim my father owes them money for co-pays from 2006!! Never have we received a letter from the hospital or a call from them before, although they insist they have tried several times to contact us. It's interesting to hear that other people have had this same problem. They refuse to provide any sort of documentation accept a letter on their letterhead saying the total amount due and not what that amount was for. Proceed with caution.

- FuzukiAHA!! That explains it!! A COLLECTION AGENCY!!
- LemmaThey are indeed a Collection Agency. Can't really say if they're legit, but they've called my Cell phone for the last year I've had it looking for some guy who had the number last (Scott Fullman). Anyways, I called the number and was connected to an operator - she was able to take me off their calling list. But to be safe, I'd advise not giving out any personal info, but ask for whom are they trying to reach at the extension beforehand, and alert them if that person no longer lives/has the phone number. Avoid giving anyone your info.
Also: -- if *any* stranger even asks for your Birth Date, ask "may I ask what this is regarding?" or the like questions. In some instances, I've heard of just a name and B-day can give them terms of a legally binding contract over the phone. If anyone gets pushy or tries to repeat the question to pressure you, just tell them to remove your name from whatever list, and hang up FAST.
But to re-iterate, I think these guys... are probably alright.
The woman I spoke to was polite about getting me off their list, and it took less than a minute to get fixed.- Call type: Debt collector
- ToyaThis number kept calling my phone looking for a person that i never heard of before( i guess it was the person who had this cell phone number before me)and the lady was very rude to me. I was being harrassed about a bill that was not mine. I asked her to never call my phone again...

- ConfusedI just received a call from this number. I never answer 888 numbers, I let them go to my voicemail. When I checked my voicemail, it sounded like someone was driving in a car and I could hear music in the background. About 10 seconds in, I hear a guy go "uhhhhhh" and then he hangs up. That doesn't sound like a professional collection agency to me.
- Caller: Not sure
- JoeCAlled back to 888-876-2814 & got Clay. Never ided who he was with and asked for someone I never heard of. Said he would remove my number.
- JimThey use your number by searching for phone numbers for a debtor that used the same address as yours. In my case I reside at a YMCA in Western New York that has approximately 50 men living there. I happen to be the only resident with a land line phone. Therefore I get these collection phone calls for various individuals that reside at the Y. The number was for "Caprio Partners" (sp?). They said they would remove me from their contact list.
- Caller: Caprio Partners

- TonyaThey called, and I sent them to voicemail (I do not answer unknown numbers). They left a voicemail which was just a few seconds of background noise.
Then they hung up.
I put them on my 'reject list' on my phone.
