Great advice posted by an attorney on:
    https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-718-732-0174

"IF they do not provide you with the verification of the debt, the debt is invalid and not subject to collection.  PAY NOTHING TO ANYBODY UNLESS THEY PROVIDE YOU WITH WRITTEN VERIFICATION OF THE DEBT, AND ONLY THEN IF YOU FEEL THE DEBT IS VALID - otherwise, let them sue you for the debt, as a real law firm will only bring a legal action on a truly valid debt".

Go here to obtain the template for the DV letter and read more on your consumer rights under the FDCPA:  http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/

    Ha, ha, ha!

Not sure why this is a reply to my post but ill come back with this question.

Since when did lawyers become wholesome, trusting individuals? It's 2012 people, if this was a scam wouldn't they have shut it down years ago when the company was established? Instead of doing the research to find loopholes in the law or what you may believe is plausible, try contacting your insurance companies for an explanation of benefits which will plainly state what your bill is for. Want verification from a collection agency? Simple. Verify your information and ASK for it.

Did you know its 2012? There's this crazy thing called the internet. Give me your first and last name I can have your cell phone number in five minutes. They are a collection agency who bought YOUR unpaid debt. If someone owed you a large amount of money would you not use all means possible to find them and contact them? How often would you call them if they declined to pay? Would you just let it go like so many debtors want these agencies to?

If so can I borrow some money?

that was a plug by a caspian employee.
These people are RUDE. They immediately jump into asking questions without failing to do the legal miranda on debt collection. When challenged, they over talk you and try to get nasty They to date have refused to verify WHO they are allegedly working for. DO NOT talk to them without exercising your rights.
Make them show you who they are AND that they have the authority to discuss what they are calling about.

Well, thats called harassment. You need to send a cease and desist letter to them and tell them to pound sand. Tell them to sue you. Any baby lawyer will take  a case that is filed by a bill collector after the statute has run as being a violation. Free attys fees money.
