So called, "DMC Services" left a note at my door saying that we have missed a delivery and need to call them. They are trying to sell free samples that in which if yo take, you will begin to receive many of these telemarketer. I do own a new home.

I also recd. "Delivery Notice " card with toll free number 1-888-959-3866  Address is DMC Services , 577 Deltona Blvd. #18 Deltona, FL 32725.  No response on phone.Hence search on google and see this list.
Do not waste your time calling.

Also recently purchased a new house, got the card in the mail and am also awaiting a package.  I called this morning (thankfully from work) and googled as I was dialing.  Hung up as they answered when I found this.  Been looking at it for a for a few days thinking something smells funny about this, glad I called for the office line.

They just sent me a card in the mail, glad i checked first.
How is this legal? They have been doing it for years

How would it be illegal?  Its a sales technique.  

They bring you a bottle of laundry detergent.  The test your water.  Based on those test results and the amount of laundry you do they decide how your water should be treated to make your laundry come out cleaner. You buy the system or you don't.  

The post cards may be annoying, but they are easy to throw away.  You don't have to call the number.

My tap water is so hard we make jokes about showering in rocks.  I have a water softener - a water treatment system.  But I didn't buy it from fool sending out postcards to everyone in town.

I'm a new homeowner and I just received a card in the mail from this company. I called the number and all I hear is elevator music, then "please hold." Thankfully, I looked online and found out this is a scam from you all before investing too much time into this matter!

Gave them the name of our local police chief and the police departments mailing address.

Got the same card everyone else describes asking me to call to schedule delivery. They are sneaky doing this during the holiday season, when so many people get packages they didn't order from a variety of companies. However, notice that the card stamped with postage, not left by a delivery person from the company. I saw my mailmn drop this off with the rest of the mail. A real delivery person wouldn't try to deliver something, fail at it, and then mail you a notice.

I got the same card, thinking it could have been a package from family we have in FL. Thought it looked funny, and my family is no where near Deltona, but I thought it could be a small business expanding. So, I checked it out and found this page. We didn't just move in, so I think they were using the holidays as leverage. Sickos! The BBB posted that this business (DMC Enterprises) was located in Portland, OR and since both phone numbers are disconnected (888-853-0095 and 503-236-6171) they have listed its status as "Out of Business".
The description by the BBB states: This company is an independent agent that sells nutritional products and water purification systems. Sound familiar?
My guess is that they went out of business with an overstock of purification systems (and Tide) that they need to get rid of. Thanks to 800-notes for all you do to help people avoid being scammed!

Got a card too. Tried to call it.  I was put on hold so I googled it.  Thanks for saving me the time, I would of hung up as soon as they started asking personal information.  This should not be allowed.

We had just bought a house in SC and got one of these in the mailbox. Glad I saw this website and hung up before it was too late.

A guy dressed professional with a ID badge and a fancy clip board came to my door the other day giving me a speech and asking questions about my water quality and trying to come off like he was fromt he water department. Once I caught on and started calling his bluff, I found out that he was with a water filtration company. Then a few days later I get a card in the mail from DMS services, even after I told this guy I WAS NOT intersted. If someone with a bright orange jacket comes to your door, don't answer it! Also, don't call the # on the card, even if your phone has a block on it becasue they can still capture your number. There is no package they are trying to deliver, it's a scam trying to sell you a water filtration system.
