Received phone call with automated message stating irs was bringing lassuit against and to phone imediately.  914 595 6462 was the number showing on caller id and left as call back number.

Another fake IRS Scammer call.... Luckly for me my other day job is in Cyber Security and Cyber WarFare.... And now this is personal. and I was already setup for this call since they made the mistake of calling me just the week before calling from 415-506-1355

Got a VM saying IRS lawsuit and call them back at 914-595-6462 - Not sure what the scam is, but I know this is not legit

My mom received the same notice from the # 914-595-6462 & it has her all upset & that is uncalled for.the person didnt even speak English very well.

Ditto here in VA..bogus scam call.

Thank you for the posts. I also received this call today. I'm so grateful that someone started this chain because I was scared and would have called back. Luckily, I checked it out first!

i have given this matter over to my attorney, who will help put this entity out of business once-and-for-all.  they are a nuisance to society and all should be locked up!
p.s. is it legal for an entity to call themselves the IRS ie the internal revenue service???  if it is, a law should be enacted asap to disallow such, as well as names such as the CIA, TSA etc.

I got the same call today. I looked up the area code it told me to call and I found that I could look the # up in reverse and got to this site. It scared me so I'm going to call the Local IRS and tell them.

Full voice mail transcript:

"Hello. We have been trying to reach you. This call is officially a final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 914-595-6462. I repeat 914-595-6462. Thank you."

First of all, even if the IRS did call you in the phone instead of first sending you an official letter through postal mail (in itself highly unlikely,) they would use a real person, identify you by name, give more specifics as to the case or call, and later call you back. They would not wait, sitting on their thumbs for you to call them. Second, they would identify themselves by name on your caller ID instead of by a city/state or "Unknown"/"Unavailable."

I got voice mail from this number stating that I was receiving a "final notice" of a lawsuit against me from the IRS.  The IRS website has information about how to find out if someone is really from the IRS here:

Received a call today from this number (so called IRS) stating that I have a final notice for something going to the collection agency.  The funny thing is my credit is good and I'm just 18 years old. Thank you for  sharing  your experiences.

I just now received a call from these jokers on my cell.

I received a call from the number 914-595-6462 today stating they were the IRS and was filing a law suit for back taxes. Also my final notice. I notified the police. Was told it was a scam and was untraceable. Scam!!!!

Why can't the law do anything? This is a form of terrorism for the elderly.

I received a phone call from 1-914-595-6462 to a VOI number that sends me the messages to my normal email account.  Same nonsense,  claiming to be the IRS, that there was a warrant out for my arrest and demanded that I return the call to the same number immediately.  Given that I'm not a demand processor,  I read the email the next day, listened to the bogus message and reported it to the Treasury Dept.  Go to the IRS site for info regarding reporting this spoof/scam.

I just got a call from the number 914-595-6462....They said the irs was going to file a lawsuit against me...When i call back, the lady finally answered , and i said someone called me from this number and she oh no...And hung up on me....They people should be locked up......A scam for sure.......

Just received a SCAMMER call from the FAKE IRS, automated with a call back number of 914-595-6462.  The automation was that I was being sued by the IRS.  Which is really NOT a possibility. Total scammers!
