I just received a phone call from 914-595-6462 saying IRS was filing suit against me. Called number back but no one answered. I've since blocked the caller after reading these messages. Must say scared the doo doo out of me. Darn foreigners!

Threatening final notice call, claiming an IRS lawsuit has been filed against me.

Received a call from this number purporting to be the IRS requesting a call back in answer to a pending lawsuit they have filed.

I received this message on my landline phone :    "Hello we have been trying to reach you. This call is officially final
notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you." Message received on 05/19/2015, 03:32PM (CDT). Length 15 seconds. Caller: (914)595-6462.

This number called and left no message.  We do not answer unknown numbers.  We then blocked the number.

Got the exact same call today as everyone else is getting. Didn't answer so maybe they won't call again. Couldn' t believe they left voicemail!

Same message: this is the IRS and we are filing suit against you. This is your last chance. Call. Came from 914-595-6462 which is also call back number.

Received a call from these "people" today, but didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. Missed call was from 914-595-6462 in New York, same lovely lawsuit message that the rest of you got. I'm just surprised that they actually called from the same number that they want you to call. Not calling back, but will let the hubby roar at them if they call when he is here. He loves to do that more than eating when he is hungry!

I received the same SCAM call. Please report the call to the FCC. Also best not to call back because then they know they have someone's actual phone number. Otherwise it is just a computer dialing random combinations of numbers hoping to get a real number and a person to call back. You can bet if someone calls back and they sense a freaked out potential victim they are going to say, guess what...that they have to have your personal information to keep you from being sued.....a lady we know was taken in recently by such a call, then had to go to her bank and change all her accounts. Report them  to your state and the FCC. It is also true per a previous poster that the IRS does not make calls. They also give all kinds of opportunity to work things out if you really do owe.

Total scam.  Ignore and block the calls.  I get one call a week at least.  Originates in India or Pakistan.

I got the same message today, May 21.  Figured it had to be a scam.  1) They said they had been trying to reach me.  That obviously was not true.  2) The IRS has no reason to file suit against me and if they did, they wouldn't leave a voice mail to tell me.  Sad that some people have nothing better to do with their time than make prank phone calls.

Stupid prank! I'm not calling back. If the IRS wants info, they know where I live.

They left a message with a call back number, telling me I was being sued by the IRS. Since I knew it was a scam, of course I called  back !!! I kept the "IRS agent", as he identified himself, with the Indian/Pakistani accent on the phone for at least 15 minutes asking what I had to do to stop the lawsuit and pay my back taxes. I said "Do you want to take my credit card number so I can pay you?" ........There was silence for a good 10 seconds and then he put me on hold. When he returned to the phone he said the call was actually meant for my husband. I asked him why I never received a notice in the mail (that is always the first step from the IRS) and he said they "left many notices at my doorstep". "Not in my mailbox at my doorstep?", I asked. "At your doorstep", he said. "You didn't answer so now we are suing you." OH MY !!!  I told him I worked in a bank (I really do) and the next step would be for the IRS to place a lien on my bank account to collect what I owed. At one point during this exchange he told me I wasn't taking this seriously enough. 'YA THINK !!! I said, "Since I always have my refunds direct deposited you have my bank account number on file, don't you?" Silence, again. "Ma'am", he said. "If you think this is a scam you should hang up." "What!!! You mean this may be a scam??", I asked. He hung up on me.  HAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!  Hopefully, whatever amount of his time I used up kept him from actually scamming several other people.

Same message yesterday 9/10/15.  Still going on.  Took the answering machine off.  Won't get any messages from other calls during the day but at least I won't get these jerks calling with this scam.

I was called on my  sons phone with a threating message that I owe irs money and if I did not pay and stay on the line with them all my account s credit cards would be seized. It was very frightening. God was on my side my pin did not work. These people need to be prosecuted.
