    All calls have stopped!!!! Here is the email they sent me:

    Your telephone number has been removed from our calling database.

    Please accept our apologies for disturbing your household; it was not our intention to harass you in any way.

    Research allows you to share your opinions on goods and services you use in the marketplace. Many of the products or services you use most often came to you with the aid of market research. The national companies that use market research know it is the best way of listening directly to the consumer, and your feedback can affect what is offered, where it is offered, and how it is offered.  We appreciate the limited time households today have; that's why we want to provide media companies targeted information so they can offer only what consumers are most interested in viewing, reading, and hearing (given their limited time).

    Scarborough Research is a nationwide media research company that conducts surveys throughout the country. We do over 200,000 surveys per year, gathering information on radio listening, newspaper reading, shopping behavior, and TV viewing habits of consumers. We have been in the research business over 25 years. You can check on our company with several sources. Our website can be found on the Internet at www.Scarboroughsurveys.com. We are also members of the Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau. Scarborough is also a member of the Market Research Association and of the Council of American Research Organization. Their websites are MRA-Net.org and CASRO.org.

    We try hard to contact your number because once a number has been randomly selected to be included in the study; it cannot be substituted by another household. Your answers would have represented thousands of households in the area who were not chosen to be in the survey. So, their opinions and habits will not have a chance to be heard. That is why your participation was so important to us; it was not our intention to disturb your household.

    Please do not hesitate to contact us again should you need further assistance.

    Sincerely,

    Renee Hott

    Executive Administrative Assistant

    I received several calls from them and finally picked up and asked to get off their calling list. They were very kind. However, I just received another call! They are real scammers if they do not honor their agreement not to call any more!

    They call my cell number 2-3 times a week at various times, often as late as 10 p.m.  Have requested by e-mail and 800 number to please STOP calling me.  Am on "do not call list".

    I have repeatedly asked callers identifying themselves as being from Scarborough Research to stop calling me.  The female who called me about 10 minutes ago was rude and pushy, even after I nicely told her that we were just sitting down to dinner, and that I had previously told Scarborough not to call me.  I had to finally hang up on her because she just wouldn't stop pushing and talking. We are on the "Do Not Call" list for a reason: we don't want to be called, solicited, surveyed or sold.

    I have been receiving calls from this company as early as 9am on Sunday mornings and as late as 10pm on work nights.  They have called during dinner and woken me up early in the morning.  The calls start at 9am and continue until 10pm, sometimes as often as three times an hour.  I told the operator that I am on the National Do Not Call List and as such I am NOT to receive these phone calls.  On more than one occassion I was told "I'm sorry, ma'am we'll remove your name right away" - yet the phone calls still happen.  I called 1-800-753-6043 (after doing a little internet research) and informed the company that I am NOT to be called any further.  The calls continued.  I called the phone number a second time.  The calls continued.  I called a third time and after fighting with the man who answered (and claimed that they never call before noon or after seven) the phone I finally got a name and id number so that if I continue to receive calls I have some information to report.  I also told the company that if I receive additional calls I will report Scarborough to the FTC for violation of the Do Not Call list and that will mean that the company has to pay me a fine (they start at $500 for the first infraction and continue to increase with each additional infraction).  Also if you go to the "do not call website" (https://www.donotcall.gov/) to register your complaint; the more complaints the more likely it is the calls will stop.

    This company has keep calling despite the fact I emailed and called their 800-number and told them that I am not the National Do Not Call list which means, DO NOT CALL ME.  The claimed since they weren't selling they didn't have to honor the Do Not Call list.  WRONG!!  The Do Not Call list applies to the following:
    Understand that some calls are not covered. Once your number has been on the registry for 31 days, most telemarketing calls will stop. However, you still may get:
    calls from — or on behalf of — political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors;
    calls from companies with whom you have an existing business relationship. A company may call you for 18 months after you make a purchase or three months after you submit an inquiry or application;
    calls from companies you’ve given permission to call.

    There's is nothing in the law that states research companies are exempt from the Do Not Call list.

    That last time the company called I participated in their "survey" giving the most outlandish answers I could ... when the operator complained that I needed to give "serious" answers to make the research "valid" -- I told them I would get "serious" when they respected my wishes and stopped calling.

    If they don't stop calling, can get your telephone provider to call on your behalf. That way it's documented for further action.

    This survey company is a real pain in the butt! Why can't anyone do anything. Our number is unlisted, a lot of good that does as we waste money for that with the phone company. I asked them not to call. They then sent a post card saying they were sorry about calling at a bad time & would call again. We'll they did & I again asked them not to. They said they're not selling anything & I could call an 800 number. We're already continuously calling the do not call list, but it does no good. I just love how these people just hide behind a phone & invade privacy laws etc. Come show your face & I'll be glad to explain it better!

    When people ask for them to stop calling, why can't they?
    Why send a postcard saying your sorry about calling at a bad time & you'll call again?
    If you're really sorry, please stop the 1st time people ask & even after the 2nd time - or 3rd time.
    I think it is called harassment at that point!
    Don't hide behind a phone in Florida to just continue to call people.
    Some have serious reasons, like a medical problem - show some compassion will ya?
