- Cherylyn replies to cherlyn's dad was a debt collectorWhat did my father do to me? Well, you obviously didn't read my post, thick head. My father retired at 41. Like I said, I retired at 37. So, I would say he taught me a lot. I don't know how old you are, or your Daddy-O, but I can 100% guarantee that he has not been able to gracefully been able to retire (probably hasn't been able to retire yet, probably financially bailing you out still! or paying back child support to your unwed mother a/k/a "The Welfare Queen"), without debts, at 41 like my father, and I can 100% guarantee that you, at or when you finally turn 37, if you make it that far, will retire at 37. Now this is obviously assuming your father is even around, of course. I think I saw your mom doing a paternity test on Maury once... I don't know. Regardless, I am now 41 and enjoying my life as I want it to be. Unfortunately, some people, like those on here, have fallen on hard times (and deaf ears) and have financial problems and issues. That does NOT make them dead beats. In fact, if you look at the grammar of those who have written on here that are getting these phone calls, they have at least made it past an elementary education. You on the other hand... well.... what can I say. You are so much more than a dead beat than anyone else on here. There is a post on here from a debt collector however, and I can tell from his/her post that they are extremely knowledgeable in debt collection, has obviously, AT THE LEAST, an education going beyond your 5th grade education, has morals, and is TRULY willing and wanting to help those in trouble or need. Or they wouldn't have posted "OUR" rights. That's right, "OUR" rights. Your rights too. You are a desperate, pathetic fool willing to humiliate, defame, and intimidate any person for your own paycheck. Now, that is the true definition of a deadbeat. Good luck to you in your future endeavors. Maybe you should try to apply and get a job with the debt collector I refer to above. Application: SUBMITTED. Application: DENIED.
- Cherylyn replies to funny how someone sooo rich| 1 replyI'm not a TFB. Worked hard all my life for what I have. Even 2 jobs at some points in my life. Stupid? Hardly. The only stupid one is someone like yourself that would make a remark like that. My 5 yr. old doesn't even throw remarks like that. Only stupid people do that. You are obviously one of these collectors that have nothing better to do in life but get a job harassing people. You poor soul. I pray for you (well, not really ass wipe, I could care less if you drove yourself in a drunken stupor into a utility pole and killed yourself. Ha... see post posts and you'll know what I speak of, ass.) Don't be soooo jealous that I worked, ethically, at jobs my whole life to retire at 37. You are jealous and stupid. Na na na na na. Does that meet your maturity level? What day of the week is it? Did they update your food stamp card yet? Go by yourself a nice big juicy steak, [***]. Don't burn your trailor down with the b-b-q. USEFULL HINT: Plastic melts next to heat.
Ha, I love this [***]. Bring it on, [***]. - Na-na-na-naDo not pick up call from 952-891-4555 or 952-388-0480. Ignore these phone numbers if you don't owe them any pennies. I got calls from them because I have very common last name. Don't give the caller chances to investigate, insult, and threaten you.

- Laughable Collectors replies to ARE YOU SERIOUS???A more recent update for everyone.
Recently, Weinerman & Associates had a rather large group of filings in Hennepin County, to which the majority of their cases were dismissed with prejudice as they have no proof of debts. They are a predatory collection company that buys debt from intermediary parties in the hopes of making a quick buck by misrepresenting themselves, taking assumed names, threatening legal action before providing proof of anything, all in the hopes of intimidating people into paying them money.
I am one of the people that had the case dismissed with prejudice, which bars them from attempting to collect any further without them winning an appeal in court. The person who represented them in court sounded a lot like this Bernie guy, but that definitely isn't his real name. He had the audacity to try and talk back to the judge. I'm rather surprised he didn't get found in contempt.
The best thing you can do if they contact you is send them a letter asking them to validate the debt, because quite honestly they either can't or won't, which in the long run just ruins their attempts at making money. Show up in court with your documentation, and watch as the judge dismisses all of their filings with prejudice because all they can come up with is "our system has ties a social security number to the actual accounts", and no signed promissory note, no signed contract, nothing that is actually legal proof of the debt owed. - Raul DukeThese bill collectors get their money by collecting the money, not by the amount of time that they spend. Another winning strategy is to waste as much of their time as possible, while giving them no information to use against you. Ask them to repeat information. Don't let their negative emotions create bad feelings in yourself. Instead, when they are rude to you, ask them how they feel.
The next time that they call on Shabbat, I'll ask them what their oma would say.- Caller: weinerman and associates

- you're [***] replies to either way you still toss saladsI absolutely love all of the arguing on here. If any of you had any [***] sense you'd read up on the Fair Debt Collectors Act. Collectors cannot contact you at work(yes it's illegal), cannot talk to a third party (including relatives) about your debt (also illegal), and cannot threaten you in anyway. The only thing they can do is ask you to pay your debt. If you decide not to then they can take you to civil court. That's all, That's it. They can't throw you in jail (debtor's prisons went out of style back in 1850), or have you arrested. You all ought to read and research....JEEZ.

- CherylynnWow, haven't got on this website forever. But I am not so surprised about the same old crap going on here. The scariest thing of all is, all you people, listening to these people that are here on this website trying to "help" you on here. Are your serious??? Do you not see that? "People" telling you to send to the company, all your personal info, so that you can sue them, with or without prejudice? Do NOT send ANYONE any personal info on yourself to anyone on here. !!! PLEASE... Just another way for this so called company to get your info. And trust me, any legit debts you have owing to this company, don't do it !! They will never take you off their "debt collection list" or the like on your credit report. This company is truly a piece of [***]. Don't give ANYONE ANY INFO ABOUT YOU on this website. Even if you get an e-mail from someone, giving you compassion, whatever, ANYONE on this website asking you for any info, or asking you to send your info to anyplace... ie: their lawyer, anyone else on this website, please do not be sooo stupid. - blah blah replies to unknown| 34 replieslol.. I just met "drew" a couple days ago... he acts as if he's some big shot business owner that has an amazing job working personally with banks. thats how he explained what he did... ohhhh this is all too funny...
no wonder hes 40 yrs old single with no kids... - PeteThey call randomly.....very randomly with an automated voice mail saying they have urgent business. I called them back trying to explain that they had the wrong number, and a gentleman answered saying he was an Attorney for Weisman & Associates. I called him back at 7:30pm. Do you honestly expect me to believe that an debt collection attorney is at work this late? I highly doubt it.
When I asked him how he got my phone number he stated that I gave it to him. What a joke.....I haven't filed any lawsuites and I have not been seeking any legal action in any form. They are just trying to get some information from anyone they can if you want my opinion. I have labeled this number as "Don't Know" in my phone. It's a joke.- Caller: Weinerman & Associates

- Person| 3 repliesEither people are going to pay or not... pretty simple, if they don't have the money, they aren't. It was/is pretty irresponsible of agencies to give people tons and tons of credit only feeding into the fact they might not be that responsible with money. What's the point of getting mad at someone who is either broke or just not good with money. You should know WHO you are loaning money too and actually do it responsibly. I personally don't have any debts but find these stories from people quite interesting. Credit is a scam except in very few circumstances where it is necessary... which is almost never. People are lulled into a false sense of security when it comes to credit... they see it as 'magic money' and suddenly they fall in the debt trap and have no idea what happened. It would be nice if people were properly taught in school about credit so they would be able to avoid situations like this. Hell, when I was young my mom wasn't that great with money, or really seemed to have trouble acquiring it. She tried to be reasonable and work with the people she actually owed money too, but when people are selling debts to third parties who want to mark the price of what they got for much less and harass people it's no good for anyone, the business included. If companies want 'their' money that is one thing, but debt should not be treated like a commodity, nor should credit be so widely accepted as the norm. I learned a lot from my mom's lack of financial understanding and I've been pretty damn careful to avoid the pitfalls she didn't realize she was falling into. Well... that's my two cents on it. People just want to live their lives... who can blame them?
- ECONOMY replies to Person| 2 repliesResponsible persons pay their bills and criminal, irresponsible debtors run away from their obligations, have their illegetimate kids screen their calls and do everything but make arrangements. Why the economy is in the tanks,DUH
- Alfalfa replies to ECONOMYDuh....debtors did not tank the economy, Doofus. The Wall Street "banksters" (who, incidentally bankroll the operations of this and hundreds of other bottom feeders) caused this "Great Recession" (as it has become affectionately known) and is celebrating it's third birthday this month, by packaging and selling mortgage loans to people they *knew* couldn't afford them, including "liar loans". They sold mortgage loans to anyone without proof of income. One broker, who worked for the now-defunct Countrywide joked: “If you had a pulse, we gave you a loan. If you fog the mirror, give you a loan.”
Well, turned out the joke was on him, for he wound up serving 18 months in prison for wire fraud:

I'll clue you in on something else: Owing a debt is NOT a criminal act...but collecting them involving abuse and harassment IS, and your colleague who told a poster that "her son would still be alive today if she had paid her bill" deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. - R replies to ECONOMYBad day in the boiler room? Guess no commission this month:-)
- Debtor replies to Mr. KI too fell to this collection agency practices. Further more I paid them $3000 to settle the debt and I know find out that they never reported the debt as being paid. I too went the look for his so called letter and could not find one. At this point I am writing them to show me proof of the debt and proof of my payments so I can get my credit report updated to reflect the payment history.
- DR JUAN PORTILLONS| 5 repliesIf persons borrowing money would act as adults and be responsible and proactive then there would never be tactics, lawsuits and baiting. If circumstances prevent payment in full of an obligation,be courteous to those that have loaned you money and call them to work out arrangements, its the correct thing to do.Dont be a check bouncer or a debtor that knowingly presents a credit card knowing full well it will be declined. That is despicable! A collections agent does need to make a commission so that he to can eat and if only those who are getting collections calls would pick up and answer their calls then the collector would be instrumental and yes, even nice about negotiating a solution. It's only when there is avoidance do collections agents have to call family,go on facebook and call your job to get you on the phone.Do what is right and pay.
- aaa replies to DR JUAN PORTILLONS| 4 repliesdr juan...when people borrowed money they did act like an adult..they were working and able to pay there bills every month, then the banks screwed up the economy and people lost there jobs and they can only afford to pay there rent and lights now.
now if the collectors acted like adults maybe some of the debtors could make arrangements of 20.00 a month, but you know they will never accept that so they LIE,they threaten people with arrest they overcharge them and they even steal from you.they call senors up who is on ssn and they say to them I'm going to freeze your ssn check and the law says no debt collection company and even a law firm can freeze an ssn check...they call debtors up and say there going to be arrested....you cannot be arrested fro a civil matter...these idiots use scare tactics and lie all the time and as far as I'm concern i wouldn't pay them a dime,i would call the original creditor and make payments with them i would never deal with a collection company.
PEOPLE...be very careful when dealing with low life debt collectors do not give them your bank info...
FFG was caught for overcharging and illegally taking moneys out of peoples bank account..if you feel you must pay these idiots...use money orders and make sure they validate the debt that you owe.
demand full validation...
