GET A LIFE!!!! - TiffThey are the colledtions department for ACE Cash Express, I made a payment arrangement and due to hard times my payment was declined. They called me at work this morning and told me I needed to take care of this in the next 30 mins or have it paid by noon, otherwise they will report it as using a bad check to acquire a loan. They are not willing to work with you to set up reasonable payment arrangements, even though I have expressed my concern it getting this taken care of. I guess I will just see what happens.

- larI got a call from Josh Thomas 19725505000 ex. 7728, and at first he was really rude to my machine. Told me that he had been calling me and that I hadn't been returning his call. When in fact I called him several times and he did not answer so I left messages.
After my dad called and told me that they were getting these calls about getting "serious action" taken I called a 4 time and left a long message. Saying my name several times, my case number several time, my phone number several times. So that he knew who I was. When I called again Josh Thomas answered. And I went off. Telling him how many times I called, when I called. What I said in my messages. He left me finish and then NICELY explained what I needed to do to fix this mess. I verified his story and it was easy. This is my debt, I owe it and I know it.
I was originally told I would receive a letter to explain, when I didn't receive the letter I forgot all about it.
So as long as they no you are not ducking out on them they will work with you nicely.- Caller: Ace Cash Express corp. office

- lar replies to J.WhiteThis is exactly what Josh did. and you know what I stopped that.. like you said you dont deserve to be threatened. but work with them. ask them what they can do for you instead of getting angry.
sometimes that works - who knewI would be careful if I were some of you. I thought the same thing..there is nothing they can do if I don't pay it. Then I lost my driver's license..and when I went to the DPS to get a new one..I was arrested because of a warrant for theft by check..which after I found out was going on turned out to be due to the check that I gave to ACE to secure a payday loan.
Just letting everyone know. - Debbie| 2 repliesThey called to my work asking for me then asking for my boss he has nothing to do with this case and then called my sister scarying saying that they have to get a contact with me about my case HOW CAN I STOP THIS harassment?!

- anonymousMy office was called by mr sherrod and my employees were told that an investigation was going on that involved me and that I needed to contact them today by 4pm or they would contact my employer on Monday.
1st of all they were already calling my office. Second when I called back I stated that they can not threaten or harase me at work or my employees. also I recorded the call and they stated that they were not a collection agency, when I said i had already made contact with Ace regarding my loan that i was unable to pay they said it doesn't matter they were still going to make a case. He was yelling at me and then hung up on me.- Caller: Ace America

- one who knowsACE is *not* a collection agency. They are a check cashing/payday loan company, attempting to recover their own money. Therefore if you ask the person on the phone if (s)he is a collector, or working for a collection agency, the answer is "no." If you've made contact with the ACE center from which you took the loan, the recovery department trumps any arrangements you may have made with them, simply because by the time your account gets to the corporate office it's already far past its due date. Your best bet is to be less confrontational and try to work something out with the corporate employee who is attempting to get in touch with you. Trust me, this person who has called you is not your enemy. If you will work with him you will be saving yourself a lot of trouble in the end!
- dontoweem| 1 replyThey are calling me, lying and saying they've never called before, trying to bully me about a debt my daughter owes. I live across the state from my daughter and I don't owe them anything. Ms. Valentine started in on me about how I should counsel my daughter on paying her debts etc. Both my daughter and I have told them to remove my number from their records and they refuse. They called my daughter this morning, hung up from her and called me to tell me to call her! She has paid over 1/2 of the loan and has tried to make payment arrangements for the rest which they keep adding huge penalties to. They just keep threatening her, bullying her and trying to intimidate both her and I. This is way over the top! My daughter is a single mom, works hard and is trying to do the right thing. These places make it so easy to borrow when people feel they are desperate for money and then they charge huge interest rates causing people to have to continually reborrow. Its a hellpit that is very difficult for someone to get out of.
