- Rob, Palm Springs Ca. replies to Rob, Palm Springs Ca.Just finished dialing this number and I'm now getting a operator message:
"I'm Sorry you have reached a Number that has been disconnected or is no longer in Service".
There's something very, very shady and suspicious with this number. I'm going to now call Telephone Operator to see what the explanation is I receive. - xtI got several calls from this number, all hours of the night & a few times in a row too. They are BIG scammers!
- JC replies to BelmaYeah me too my wife calls from Philippines i get that number too?
thanks for the post! but i think more to it. - Mellow MelMissed call rec'd 4:02 Pacific Time - showed 973-438-3624 in the display - not sure where it came from
- Dino replies to SayI believe much of the traffic from Asia is being re-routed through this number, and some others. I have a friend in the Philippines, and this number appears when they call. It used to happen only with Globe Telecom, but now seems to be happening with Smart as well.
I'm finding it difficult to even make calls to Globe numbers. When it rings, it's a "weak" ring, and when they answer, the call quality is terrible, sort of like an underwater sound. As well, my caller ID is not displayed on their mobile (I'm calling via AT&T landline, and Verizon Wireless). Smart still seems to be working okay, today being the first day that I have noticed the 973-438-3624 routing of Smart. Making calls to Smart is still good, and my caller ID is displayed.
Have called Globe Customer Service many times, as this started about two months ago and has grown steadily worse. Still have the matter pending with what they call their "Technical Team." .. I'm beginning to wonder if the Philippines, and maybe Asia proper, have a bandwidth problem. This is quite similar to conditions after the Taiwan earthquake in 2006, when fiber (submarine) cables were damaged by the earthquake. .. I've also wondered if there is so much bandwidth in Asia being consumed by the olympic coverage that re-routing has become necessary. - SLEEPY MANgot call from this ## too. but comeon! 2 in the morning!!!!!!
woke me from my sleep but I never receive the numbers i dont know. i let it go to my voicemail and listen if they leave MSG.
what is this all about? - faw replies to andyIf you get a check and then get a phone call from 9734383624 it is scam.
- not stupidGot a call from this number preceeded by a text message from 011-639-053717772 wishing me a happy birthday. It's NOT my birthday and I don't have relatives overseas.
I answered the call, lots of noise, like from a club or bar location, no one said anything, I hung up. - SCAM19734383624SCAMI sell on the internet and a guy that can hardly speak English keeps calling me and and says hello, hello, please check your email. When you send me package. I send my FedEx mover to pick it up. I told him I had checked my email and responded to all. Then he will call back and say the same thing. At first I thought maybe it was someone who had bought something from me and maybe I had made a mistake. I asked him where he was from and he said Algeria. He said he was sending me 2.5 US million dollars. I told him to send it and hung up on him. These calls are coming from New Jersey. It is a scam. They say they want to buy something from you and will overnight you a bad money order or certified check and send extra for their mover. They will tell you to give the money to the man when he comes for whatever they had purchased from you. Then someone else will call and say they are the movers but they have to be paid first and ask for you to send them their money. As I said the certified check or postal money order looks so good the banks will put the money into your account. You send the money and the bank comes back on you for the money and then you will find out this is a scam. The reason I know this is because I have a friend that this happened to. Luckily he caught it before he lost money. He called the police and they explained how it works. The best thing to do is not answer and no matter what don't dare send a penny for no reason.
- cutiethis no missed call me good that im not picking up my phone specially if i dont recognize the no. maybe this ia a scam. i was wondering where did they get my no. coz i had 3 missed call b4, with diff phone no to find out that this are just scam.
- Lisa| 1 replyThis number apparently acts as a routing number sometimes (not all the time) for calls coming out of the Phillipines. My husband receives calls several nights a week from engineers there for week and every so often this number shows up as the called from number instead of their workplace number.
- Caller: Varies
- Lisa replies to LisaEarlier post should have said "receives calls several nights a week for work (not week)" Sorry, it is getting late :-)
- CA girl replies to Rob, Palm Springs Ca.| 2 repliesYes I was called from a guy named Roberto Anthony Ramirez that I had met on eHarmony. He said he lived in San Luis Obispo. That he was born in NJ but grew up in Italy from with his father Martin until he was 23. He father is dead now. His mother Cindy lives in NJ. He told me he got a promotion and was going to the Benin Republic for a contract he got from T-mobile. The first international number I got (234-807-5264839) didn't work for me so when I tried to Skype the number it said it was a Nigerian number. He got a second # (234-808-9038736) also showed up as Nigerian he said he was working on the border. Everything seemed okay (other then he was in love with me but had never met me) we talked on the phone a bit and mainly IMed through googletalk. Then yesterday he need to make 45k for the project he is working on and then when I said I didn't have that money, he decided that he needed to come home now and get someone to finish the project that was a make or break for his career. Wanted to meet me but needed me to pay for his ticket back to US since his credit card was maxed out. Haven't heard from him since I told him I don't have the money
- blue eyes replies to Rob, Palm Springs Ca.| 1 replyI met a gentleman on Singles.net, but found his profile on Match.com also. His name on the profile was JRGoedert. (Jerry) He is supposedly in Nigeria on business, but is from Oakland, Ca.
He is a scammer who just recently "hinted" about money problems. I have received calls from him on this 973 number (which, of course, no longer works) I have also received calls on the 011-234 . . . . International number from Nigeria.
His pictures are very nice looking and he is definitely smooth, but a scammer, for sure. Please be careful. - keesaw 2 missed calls from the same number twice today - 9734383624. Tried calling back but to no avail. Wonder what he or she wants.Annoying!!!
