They said something to me about gathering information...I couldn't even make out the voicemail, which i was surprised they left me.

First I'd like to say that obviously this company does break many laws from the things I've read about them and I'm sure they'd try to collect debt from anyone.  But I do have to admit that I do have debt from about 5 years ago. Trust me I've lost lots of sleep crying cause like someone else wrote its technically stealing.  And I'm sure that's why they are calling me.  The only thing I don't understand is why they don't send me anything in the mail.  I won't answer their calls because I know they will harass me and there's no point in dealing with it because I'm helpless and have no way of getting any money.  I know I am wrong for my debt and if I was able to pay it back at all I would have by now.  I am a stay at home mom seeing as even if I had a job that would only cover day care.  So it's not like I'm just being lazy.  I technically own nothing.  Not a house or a car or anything.  Everythings in my husbands name.  I don't know all the laws and don't know if they can come after what he owns or not.  The debt happened before our marriage.  They don't even have my married name.  I don't know what else to do.  With only one person working, we can only pay our basic bills after each pay day.  Anyways.  I'm sorry if they are harassing innocent people.

I have student loans that I had defaulted on and Zwicker's rep tracked me down to collect. Honestly I'm glad they did, as I had intended to pay and only hadn't had the time to get the student loan info together to start paying. The rep, identified as Jessica Allen, was nice, gave me info on how to file for forbearance with the educational loan people (AES), and negotiated with me on a payment. She called me back later when I had asked since the first time she called I was out of the house. I paid them almost $900 by phone, gave them my bank account number and routing number. After reading all this I hope the payment actually went towards my debt and wasn't some sort of scam. I will be looking closer before making any other payments...

They call me every now and again at all sorts of hours. They are pretty annoying and never get the hint. It is Zwicker and Zwicker Associates who CLAIM to be a law firm but really is nothing more than a collection agency. They suck I never answer them.They threatened to sue me and I called thier bluff. They then left me alone. LOSERS!

Calling and looking for some other person, who probably had this phone number before it become mine. Even I told, that they getting the wrong number and wrong people they keep calling every day in different time. They are very mean unpleasant people.

I don't even have an Amex card!!

The person calling me from this number claims to be an attorney representing.  He tells personal business to whom ever answers the telephone and threatens with garnishment.  Sometimes they hang up after an answer, then call back about 5 times that very day.

haha...you realize they are a lawfirm with attorneys in every state except for nm, sc, la, ms.... they DO sue on accounts... they do not buy debt... they are retained as council for their clients and if the debtors do not pay their job is to do asset research and then sue .... wages can be garnished in all but fl, nc, pa, sc, tx... look into the laws... haha... you all make me laugh...

I received seven phone calls from these idiots in one day.  They have the wrong phone number for the individual they are trying to reach and they refuse to remove my business phone number from their auto-dialing system.  Rude is an understatement for the woman ([***]) that I spoke with on the phone.  She acted as if I was in the wrong even though I don't owe money to anyone and I have a credit score of 800+.  I most definitely will be reporting them to the Wisconsin State Attorney General's office.

I do live in a state that you listed above.  I am sorry that I am not as informed as you are.  I am glad that you are amused, as for my self I am not.

I get calls from these idiots all day as well. Right now as we speak I've received calls at 3:51pm, 4:09pm, 4:15pm, 4:19pm, 4:24pm, and 4:27pm. There were more throughout the day.

I told them once I would not just blindly pay a debt over the phone and I needed someone to validate the debt. They told me they don't have to send me anything and said I refuse to cooperate and hung up on me.

I've actually spoke to someone more than once and each time they were rude to me. What do they put in their advertisements for help wanted? "Wanted: Rude MoFo's for work. Must like harassing people, hot muggy weather, and have no respect for any human being living or dead."?

I do have a debt with Sallie Mae Financial, but I'm unsure how much exactly I owe. The school I was attending went bankrupt and I received no degree or diploma. I got stuck oweing a few thousand dollars.

I refuse to blindly pay these idiots over the phone especially after seeing reports here (and elsewhere) of how they keep your money and the company you owe money to has no idea and still tries to claim their money even though you paid to this Zwicker. *whew* that was one nice run on sentence.

Unfortunetly Zwicker and Associates can sue you.  The correct statement is that the debt is unsecured but Zwicker and Associates has attorneys in almost every state.  When they file suit against you for on behalf of the creditor it turns the judgment onto the debt making it SECURED and not unsecured.  Once they judgement is in place and this is now a secure debt they have the legal right (state laws prohibiting of course) to garnish wages for this debt, lein your property and levy your bank account.  In some states (Michigan especially) they will actually repo cars and other property and sell them at a public auction.
