Called our cell at 8 p.m., no Vmail (we don't answer unknowns).  We have 2 weeks to go before we can start reporting to donotcall.gov on this cell.  I can't wait!

Either way they are scumbags they are coming after me for a mishandled loan that sallie mae screwed up from the get go...Instead of doing some actual work other than harrassing myself and the co-signer (who paid Sallie Mae to get off the loan).  These dopes are setting themselves up for a counter suit and I am jumping with joy the more and more I find out about them....

Companies like this should be wiped out.  Especially in times like these when people can barely afford to get to a job!  Just pure scum!

They are calling and harrassing me about a loan from Sallie Mae also. My name isn't even on the loan anymore and I told them that I had paperwork to prove that, they said they didn't care "the paper in front of me has your name on and that is who needs to pay for it!" After going at it for about 15 minutes she actually got irritated enough with me that she hung up!

In regards to Zwicker & Associates - you have to understand that these people are ruthless and they will hound you until you completely crumble emotionally from the telephone ringing off the hook and answer it.  Just remember one thing - it is important for us as consumers - as imperfect as we are - to always do the right thing.  No matter how unprofessional Z & A will be; they don't care about you or American Express or the price of gas.  All they are interested in is making your life a living nightmare.  With that in mind, remember this, if you are in Bankruptcy, it is YOUR responsibility to advise the original creditor, which in this case for most of us is American Express, and advise them via certified/registered letter (or they'll say they never got it) to stop calling you at home and at work and to not call your relatives or neighbors.  You must give them the name of your attorney and that all information must be referred to your bankruptcy attorney.
Now, please be advised that this is NOT going to stop the collection calls.  I am in the middle of a nasty bankruptcy and I get calls continually from the same people I've told more than four times that I've filed and have an attorney.  They either don't believe me or are incredibly stupid.
After you hire an attorney and have advised your creditors of such, you MUST document each telephone call, who it is from, who sends you mail, when it arrived, did you respond to the correspondence, etc.  Every time a collection agent calls you and it's after they have been informed of your intent to file bankruptcy, they can be fined up to $100 per occurance.  This amount of money can be deducted from what you owe that particular, original creditor.  If Z & A (working for AmExp) keeps calling, I'm not going to owe them anything pretty soon.  I figure, go ahead el Jerko's keep calling and when I go to court I'm not going to have to pay you.
What is most important to remember is that although we make out the collectors to be the bad guy and they have bad reputations with ruthless ethics it is still not right for us to act or be worse than they are.  Kill them with love, kindness, read them a few Bible verses and hope for the best.
With God all things are possible.

This number called me several times a day for a couple weeks, then they stopped. They have once again started calling, numerous times a day, many while I am at work.  When I answer, no one speaks on the other end. If I let it go to voice mail, they don't leave a message.  I figure if they want me to call back, they will leave a message. Regardless, the only money I owe is my mortgage and a student loan, which I pay every month.

Hey, does anyone know what the P.C. stands for?  Does it somehow designate them as either a law firm or a collection agency?

Also, do they purchase AMEX debt, or are they simply collecting on their behalf?

    Thanks.

It stands for "professional corporation". (In some states it's PA, which stands for "professional association.")

These are just designations which indicate how the company organized and registered itself with the state in order to conduct business. Some businesses organize as a partnership or a sole proprietorship or a limited liability company (LLC) or a corporation (inc.) People in degreed professions such as lawyers, doctors, architects, and engineers often choose to organize their business as a PA or a PC.

Yeap they are trying to collect from me too.  They spend a lot of calls harrassing my family for information on me.  I am currently unemployed and looking for work but from what I have experienced in the past and seen on the job listings I will barely be able to put food on my child's table, keep the lights on and put gas in my car just to get to a new job once I find one.  I am a single mother and times are hard when you don't have that second income.  There are many day when I don't even have the money to feed us and they are expecting me to give them 300.00 dollars a month.  COME ON!

Federal debt collection laws prohibit debt collectors--lawyers included-- from disclosing any information about you to a third-party. So if Zwicker said anything to your relatives about you, then they are already in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and may be liable up to $1,000 per violation should you choose to sue them and win.  The same law forbids debt collectors from harassing anyone.  Also, your relatives can tell Zwicker verbally or in writing to cease all communication with them, and the same federal law requires Zwicker to comply. If they don't comply, then Zwicker faces the same civil liability if your relatives sue them and win.

I was called at 8:51am today. It was supposedly a "lawyer" from Zwiicker for my Amex taht had been charged off on my credit report.I was told I had 2 options at this point. Make a payment arrangement or go to litigation. I'm disabled with nothing to my name but debt.  Good luck getting blood from a stone!  I am fully aware I have this debt and have every intention to pay it. I just can't! I have 2 children and feeding and clothing them is my priority.  I do not enjoy being broke but unfortunately that is just my case right now.

I got a call from 978-686-2255. I will not answer toda, tomorrow, or any month or year in there lifetime. I dont respond to scumbag deadbeats who prey off other people for money. They are wasting there time and breath calling me. I would advise anyo0ne that gets a similar call to just laugh and hand up. All they are to do is get someone to pay a charge-off with a credit card company. I dont pay charge-offs. Now, if they want to reverse the chare-off, and talk, maybe I might reconsider. Thats maybe.
