- metro 112 replies to shawn| 18 repliesI'm sure someone from Zwicker wrote this unsecured debt can't be changed to secured debt. The best way to go is Bankruptcy then no-one can do anything.
- Blancocowboy replies to ChuckI have several missed calls from this number on my cell phone. I finally decided to call it back, and after several rude employees, I got a supervisor who could not explain where they got my number or why they were calling me. I demanded that they remove it from their "list" and dared them to call me again. I'll be mailing my cell phone bill to them to pay!!
- yoyoma replies to ShawnShawn, I think that you work for Zwicker because this same exact verbage garbage appeared 2x. Do they pay you at home to sit and look up scum about you so you can harASS from you ass, also.
- chvy| 2 repliesi recently started receiving phone calls from these ppl, not accepting them, of course. its for a student loan thru sallie mae. they do not have lawyers in my state, so i dont see what they can do to me.and ill be damned if il let them garnish my wages and not have it put towards my loan, if they should do that, ill sue them, and see how they like it
- Caller: unknown name
- Sannie replies to ChuckThese loons have been calling me day and night for WEEKS. I dunno about Amex (I can't afford their credit cards haha), but I do have some defaulted student loans from the harpy known as Sallie Mae (who is in SO much crap from the government right now, they're panicking and it's hilarious!). All of my other debts are being paid slowly but surely, and their creditors are working patiently with me, even it's only $20 at a time. So I have NO clue what money they think I "owe" them. But I've gotten to the point with harassing phone calls that I've started getting mean right back. Isn't it funny how legit companies like NCO Financial will take my tiny payments and give me a pat on the head on my credit report, but scum like Sallie Mae has henchmen to harass you day and night?
So I'm relaxing tonight, finally a night off (I work overnight), and the phone rings. It's this number -again-. I decide to answer it. Silence. More silence. "Hello? Helloooooo?"
Finally,: "Yes, is this Sheeshawna?" (Can't say my name? Now I really don't wanna talk to you.)
Me: "Who's this please?"
"This is Mr. Wilson." Very rude, very blunt.
"...Frooooom?" The number always shows up as No Name.
"Zwicker and Associates Law Firm."
"Ah, I see. You do realize that it's almost 9 o'clock, don't you?"
"So??"
"So unless you're a lawyer in Vegas, all other law firms close at 5. Good night!" -click-
I'm not that dumb. I'm not going to give money to whatever nut calls in asking for it. I don't even do that to telemarketer "charity" programs. But I do know business hours and some basic laws. I live in a state where they can't garnish me, and I have no assets. I have no car, no home, and even my very modest engagement ring is just silver. They say they want to take me to court. I say go for it, babe. You can't be arrested for your debts, and unless they can prove I owe them money, they've got nothing, and all the people I honestly owe money to I'm working with directly. Not their henchmen.
Should you be afraid? No. Nunzio and Guido can't do anything to you, especially over the phone. If you ask for paperwork, you'll never get it. If you ask for names, numbers and dates, you'll get mumbled answers and numbers that go in circles. You'll see fuzzy math. But all they can do is threaten and bully and pray that they scare you enough to get you to fork over your money. It's just like being mugged on a street corner, but over the phone. And your money will never go to the people they "represent" because of that fuzzy math.
Should you be wary? Unquestionably. The best way to do this is to get a copy of your credit report, either online or from your banker. A good credit report will tell you who claims you owe them money, which companies have called in to say "good job! You pay your debts," even if it's a collections agency (not all of them are scum!). It will also tell you which collections agencies have looked in on your credit history and which ones are currently collecting from you, and the company they represent. Example, in college I was a dumb kid and ran up a small credit card. But I had no job and no money, so it defaulted. The bank that owned the account sold my file to NCO Collections, whom I make payments to to get it paid off. The credit report shows the bank and that their file on me closed, and that NCO collects from me to pay the bank back. See? Not so scary or hard as it seems. But look through carefully and you'll find nothing from this bogus attorney firm. So now that you're armed with the truth, remember that they are scum and will play dirty, so if you have assets, protect them. Is your car paid for? Are you the only one listed on your home's title? What are your state's laws on garnishing wages? These are important things to inform yourself about. If after looking on your credit report you find nothing to link you to them, ask your banker or family lawyer what is the best way to get them to leave you alone or to defend yourself from them.
Not all problems will go away if you ignore them. But in those cases, arming yourself with the truth and being prepared for a fight will usually carry you through a lot better than it will them. Good luck and remember, don't be afraid! - JacksNot leaving a message but I do know who they are. I wish they would stop doing this.

- Joshmama| 3 repliesMissed a call on nov. 26 so called them back. Was told by a nice lady that I have debt to pay, but unfortunately couldn't find my name nor my address on file and insisted I give her my ssn. I said "no" and told her to take my number off their list.

- Joshmama replies to Joshmama| 2 repliesI had a missed call again and call them right back. Man name Eric answered and asked for my ssn. Again, I did notgive him my ssn. He asked me my name, my husband's name and transfered me to someone else. The next person simply apologized for inconvenience. I hope they never call me back.
- Zwicker_Employee replies to Really| 4 repliesI work for Zwicker, No# 1, if you send in a C/D we SUE. No#2 We have Attys in every state. No# 3, PAY YOUR BILL AND WE WON'T CALL.
- Duh is right! replies to duhBy law, they have to validate the debt with documentation if it is disputed.
As far as lawsuits, these fools are doing a pretty good job of GETTING sued, not the other way around.

(duh) - Cindy replies to Debra| 1 replyI have received a call at my work phone from this number; we have caller ID. They did not leave a message. In pursuit of business I investigated and found this site. I would think a legitimate business would leave a message on a work phone. Heaven only knows what they want with me because my bills are paid and I have a good credit rating. I did however have my wallet stolen and my debit card was used all over town until I discovered this via electronic banking and had my bank red flag my card. All of this has been dealt with and the police even arrested someone who admitted to using my card. I cant understand why they would be calling me at my place of work.
- Jordan replies to Zwicker_Employee| 3 repliesRiddle me this: What kind of loser attorneys work for collection agencys? Answer: The ones who graduated at the bottom of their class!
- nat| 2 repliesRenee from zwicker is very threatening.to the point of rudness, but don't speak too loud in return or she'll complain you're yelling at her. You have until 1:00 to call me back will the amount you will pay each month. I don't care how you get it get the money to us or we'll sue and then you'll owe court costs too. All other credit card companies are working with me to get paid. She says I can no longer work with AMEX but owe the money to Zwicker.

I told the caller that I was the president of the corporation and had never heard of the person. She then asked for our HR department. I told her again that I was president of the corporation and I have never heard of this person. She went on to explain that corporations have HR departments. Well genius not every corporation has so many people that it needs an HR department. When the person who owns the business tells you that they had never heard of the person then that should be the end of the conversation.
