I hate to say this but I think that most of the post on here are [***].  I received a similar call on my MagicJack phone system, so I called it back.  The recording on the other line says that this test works and announced that they were from YMAX Communications.  I Googled the company and it is the same company as the MagicJack inventor, Daniel Borislow.  You can look up the website here: http://www.ymaxcorp.com/management.html.

For those of you that say this is the phone call of death or 666 when turned upside down, you really need to get a life. Your paranoid delusions are coming to the surface and you are a bunch of scary freaks!

I just got a call from that phone # 999-999-9999.  No one answered,  I had gotten this call before.  I do not know who it is.  If it from Verizon,  I do not owe them any money.  So, I just ignored the call.  You can't call back, because when I did, the # was busy.  I do not know who,  this is.  So, I just don't answer the phone.

Got a call from this number. It was an automated message from my Post Office notifying me that our mail will not be delivered next week due to a strike.

HR recruiters call from 999-999-9999 and use this number on emails.

My Boyfriend is on my phone account. All the time after i leave his house or he leaves mine, he will get a call from a 999-999-9999 (thats what it says on the bill). I have been doing serious research and i even got a Skype account  to check. It's FOR SURE either a blocked number or skype. These phone calls last anywhere from 3 min to 37 min!!!!!! Ugh Driving me nuts!

I've been receiving a call which displays on my cell phone screen as UNKNOWN everyday for about 2 weeks that I know of.   When it first started happening, I anweredmy cell phone and said Hello. As soon as I answered, I heard a Click and the person hung up.  Based on this, I can assume it's not a telemarketer trying to sell me something.  The UNKNOWN caller hung up everytime.  Then I stopped answering my cellphone when I saw the display UNKNOWN.   I called my cellphone carrier to ask who was calling and hanging up when I answered.  They said the call was not on long enough to even register in their logs.  The customer service person for my cellphone company suggested I go to the website ***** and use their service to unblock the incoming UNKNOWN call and find out whose calling me. So I did.  The service is called a Bear Trap and they charge $24.95 per month to unblock calls so you can find the true caller id.    The UNKNOWN call came in and the Bear Trap log showed the call as WWWW 999-999-9999      So, this is where I found the number 999-999-999
So the Bear Trap did not work and I cancelled the service.  Apparently, the Bear Trap only unmasks blocked or restricted calls not UNKNOWN calls.  I did some more research online and I found the UNKNOWN call which shows a caller id as WWWW 999-999-9999 is most likely from someone that is using a software application which changes their caller id to whatever they want it to show or it's a call coming from a computer.  I do know that it's not a Skype call because I have Skype and I tested it to see what the caller id would display for a Skype call and it was NO WWWW 999-999-9999.

hey linda, i have had several restricted call, which i never answer. when checking my bill after the fact the number 9999999999 always shows at the time the calls were made. to me it's obviously represents a restricted call.

I have this problem on my husband's phone also. The bill shows the 999 number and when I look at his phone for "all calls" its not there. In fact the whole days worth of calls is gone. I think he gets the call and deletes it. That's why the 999 shows up on the bill and the call is no longer on his phone.

How did you catch him? I need some help.

i think they are calls from creditors.  their numbers are blocked.  i get them all the time and when i answer its a creditor

we get the same phone call....99999999999 and the desc of 3019... but only on 1 cell phone, and we have 4 phones,,,

verizon said its a scam,,, but it happens at 3 or 4 in the morning,,,,

Calls started on landline a few days ago.  CID showed "out of area" so I finally picked up and said stop calling.  Very rude man with slight accent said I probably needed Ritalin for ADHD and he would send me some for free.  Last night was the worst.  Called 5 times in less than an hour.  Out of Area, Private Caller, Out of Area, 999-999-9999 and then 000-000-0000.  Might be election related since my phone rings constantly these days with negative campaign ads but now the calls keep up past 10PM.  I finally set up my phone to not ring while I am at home.  If calls are coming from outside US there is nothing you can do but turn off your ringer and let legitimate callers leave VM.  Similar problem w/cell phone that started when I switched carriers.  Law enforcement says they they are not interested in tracking down these scam artists.  Maybe we should all stop paying taxes until they decide to do their jobs.  If people outside of the US are doing this and refuse to stop unless you give them money then that is a crime - it is called extortion.

Ok so I was at canadian tire today with my husband and i had his cell phone (mine isn't working so I can't get calls or texts) and 999-999-9999 texts his phone and says "Hi Brittni I am watching you........." and then not even ten seconds later it texts again and says " How was canadian tire?"  I am REALLY creeped out right now like really how does whoever this is know my name, no one knows how to spell my name and they did, and 2 how did they know I had my husbands phone? Can anyone help me? this really isn't cool!!

SO THIS JERKY CALLER THEN SAID TO ME TILL I HUNG UP THAT THEY (YEAH WHO THEY), WELL THIS JERK SAYS THAT I'VE BEEN REPORTED TO THE FBI WHOM SHALL COME TO MY HOUSE & ARREST ME FOR THE ROBBERY.  WHAT THE HELL WAS UP THIS JERKS BUTT WITH THAT CRAP??? THEN I GO TO TELL THEM YOU HAVE THE WRONG PERSON & ARE NO GOOOD CREEPS SAYING THIS CRAP. THEN TOLD THE CALLER TO GO TO HELL & BANGED THE PHONE!!!
