I just got the call... and it was a verizon number no longer in service.  I turned the phone upside down and it was just SIXES!!!!!! CREAPY?  When you get this type of phone call fromt he same number, and no one answers within a minute, start hitting the pound key as many times as you can.  These calls are "tracking" calls like "cookies" in your computer's browsers.   These calls track when you are home, or at work, so junk faxes can be sent as soon as you are gone.... by hitting the pound key, it confuses the computer and deletes your number, thus limiting the amount of junk faxes you may get in the future

I received a call from Target Stores, trying to get me to do a payment over the phone. Al;l of these calls are from a collections contractor in India, they may use various phone numbers, but never their own. I don't trust these companies or people as they could be crooks just looking to get into my banking account. Phishing.

i got the same call..in fact i get them 3 times a day..normally i pick up say hello and then they hang up but latley i've been so upset that they've been callin so often.. the last cup of times they called i put on a lil show for them...makin weird sounds and whatnot and guess how they responded...they said my name then hung up...freaky...i think they wanna clone me?...lol

came in on fax line.  no fax. no answer

i was having my friends sleep over this saturday. and my friend told us about this nine line thing. so me, thinking that it was funny, called it. weird stuff has been happening since. idk what to do. my friends at school who werent here think were crazy. but in the middle of the night my friends phone went off and she put it on silent that night; i woke her up and told her that her phone was going off. she told me that it was not hers cuz it wasnt her ringtone. well i showed her that it was going off and she looked to see who it was, no one was there. the phone looked normal except it was going off. so she opened and closed it and it died. the next day she checked her phone and there was no calls that came in or out or texts. it scared us all pretty bad. once everyone calmed down the next day we watched a movie (not a scary one of course) and i was sitting there watching it with my hand on my head resting. i went to move my head and my friend screamed omg! i said what and she said look at your hand! there was blood on my hand. and there was a bite in my head. idk where it came from. but that wasnt it. that night after my friends left my friend imed and told me about this man calling my other friends house and knowing both there names. the mom picked up the phone cuz it was on the house phone and it was unknown number. the man said heyy its (my friends name) put so and so on the phone. she said this is not her THIS IS A MAN! who is this and they said my friends name again and hung up. so far all of my friends have called. and after words there phones always tend to go off with some kind of ringtone and nothings there. IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEA what is going on please tell me. this is no joke we are scared for our lives here. thanks !

beep like a fax or something so i googled it right away.This is weird.

999-999=9999 on the caller id. answered the phone and they hung up.

Got this one once two days ago and twice today. The one time I answered it, they claimed to be from some political group in a county 50 miles from me.

well i gat the 9999999999 #alot but its also other #s as well and its always the same thing. Its a beeping noise every few seconds, very creepy. We change the #3 times and its the same thing!

i just got this weird phone call with the number 999-999-9999 ... hwat a hell is that number? Well as every other posts say you call cannot be completed. I'm like what a hell? it's a creppy thing. is this the a blockbuster number or something?. Can somebody give a real answer??

This number popped up when my husband called from Korea. A phone card? I think this just pops up when there is no caller ID on the number.

It is either a bill collecter or a solicitor. They either have not changed the default caller id number in their communications system yet or they are checking to see if anyone is answering at your number.

I recieved the cll on my cell phone las night 2/19/08 answered and it was someone from the hillary campaign.  maybe a unlisted number so no one can trace it.  several people in my area are getting these calls and we are barack supooters.;
