- tmGot a call from 1-207-453-7422 claiming to be a credit card company "Card Services" offering to lower my interest rate. Called this number back and got a personal answering machine. Looked it up on whitepages.com and it was registered to Marcella and Michael Pollard in Fairfield Maine. Also got calls from 1-207-478-0327 and 1-207-402-5637, one each day after the first call. I get recordings when I try to call these numbers back.
- mercyisfortheweakTelemarketers may still call me, but I have a gift for making them wish they hadn't. I simply keep them on the phone until they think I'm going to say "yes", then when the opportunity arises, I tell them "Wow, you really need to work on your selling skills" or something worse. Perhaps they'll lose that job then. Who the f*ck cares. Get another job. By the way: IT SEEMS TO WORK.
- FlatulanceThe federal registry is a fraud and a scam. Why in the world should I have to sign up to not get these annoying, unsolicited calls? Why are those making these calls given more rights than me or you when your eating dinner, playing with your children or at work?
Why not forward all these calls to your local congressman? I bet he can get them stopped easy enough. - Not 2BfoundIf I was Called, I would use Hackers thats {whitehat} of course they will

These scammers really need to stop. - Pup replies to Fed-UpWow, Fed-Up. I would have never thought of that. I was just getting ready to call them back and ask to be put on thier internal do not call list, but now I will wait for them to call me back ( which I know they will). Thanks.
- Pup replies to Cameron| 4 repliesIt is my understanding that you need to reregister every year.
- Go big, or get scammedNext time a telemarketer calls you, ask for their home phone number and address. Ask for their full name, and the type of credit card they use. Ask do they have any kids, and try to sell them a car for about $50,000, it doesn't matter if you have it or not, they will think your nuts.
- Veesixteen replies to sam| 3 repliesIs that legal? I would like to do the same thing but I fear it might be intrepreted by a lawyer as "harassment" of the person that started the harassing calls? If we could do that with EVERY unsolicited call, I believe the number of them would drop dramatically. First of all, their lines would be kept so busy they COULD NOT use them to make any calls!
- nini replies to roxanne| 2 repliesI wonder if you all ever received weird text message that are very NASTY, DISGUSTING sent to your cell phone from an international number (12 digits)? I not only have receiving weird telephone calls but also receiving weird and sickening text to my cell phone too, the number sent to me was +393399945135. I do not know what to do!! if you know or know anyone having this trouble like me please share and help!! Thank you very much in advance!I think the area code 39 is from Italy.
- oldguyNo Pup!
A marketing trick is to call the number first to see if it’s a live number. This is usually not done by a person and that’s why no one says anything. You may get this type of call a few times before a live person calls. If it says unknown caller hit the * button a few time and hang up or do not answer at all. - Mad ManI keep getting calls from a company that calls itself Mountain Area Communications and I tell them each time to stop calling me and to take me off the list. Not only do they call me again but they call me from different numbers also all starting with the same first 6 numbers. 423-317-8219, 423-317-0554, and 423-317-9129. How do I get this to stop and I'm even on the do not call list. This is very annoying!!
