Here is what everyone should do to make them stop. When you talk to a person act a little frantic and tell them that this is your cell phone and the battery is about to die. Ask if they could call you back on your business line. Then give them the number for the FCC, FTC or your local States Attorney General. At the point that they are getting the calls to I bet something will get done about it.

I tried with the do not call list and the FFC but they still call. I even did the *69 to call them back and you can't get the number. Also when I speak with somwone and tell them to put me on the Do not call list it doesn't work. They are driving me crazy.
There is NO such thing as an "untraceable" phone. They all have electronic serial numbers and you have to pay for the service in some form or fashion. Even if you go to the store and buy the phone cards with cash - I have seen that traced down as well. There is ALWAYS a trail.
Only moronic criminals believe a pay-as-you-go phone is untraceable. FBI routinely get wiretap warrants to eavesdrop on conversations on these 'untraceable' phones.
VoIP leaves all kinds of tracks behind also , but you need a search warrant to get at it.
Spoofed and faked numbers also leave trails, and again you need special permission and equipment to follow the crumbs left behind.

The Card Services scam is one of more longstanding and prolific scams out there. Sooner or later they will be caught as they only need to make one mistake while law enforcement is watching.
They don't care about being caught by law enforcement because most of these scammers are based out of the jurisdiction of the FCC. Someone making calls from Nigeria or Pakistan isn't going to care if some cop in the US gets on their case. Best thing to do is invest in call display, avoid these calls, and if you happen to engage them, don't even acknowledge you have a card (or if they claim they're from Visa, say you have a Discover Card and hang up). Having said all that - I actually ignored a legitimate message from my bank that my debit card had been skimmed because they sent the alert out using the exact same type of recording as you hear from credit scammers. So if you are in doubt, or if the caller claims to be indicating that there's a problem with your card, hang up and call your bank or credit card company yourself. If there is a real issue, you can deal with it then.

What is in it for them? Are they just trying to get personal information and use our identities?
First they will charge a lot of money ($700 and up, way up sometimes) for the "service" of lowering your interest rate. In fact, they will never lower your interest rate. Sometimes they will even ask you to call the number on the back of your card and get on a con call with them and your bank, and the customer service rep at the bank will basically just laugh at them. You will have a better chance working with your bank directly than you would ever have working with these scammers.
So now you have paid this money but you won't get a lower interest rate. You're out hundreds or thousands more dollars. And these crooks have you account number. They will sell it to other crooks as part of an identity theft scheme and soon your account will be drained -- they are not satisifed withe the money they tricked you out of already, and will milk it for all it's worth. They will change numbers, you'll never find out exactly who stole your money, while they are moving on to new victims.

I get three phone calls a day. I've FINALLY got a good call back number to mess with them. *67 770-293-0150. Enjoy I've already called a couple times today. You most likely will get hold music for a couple of seconds and then get someone asking if you pressed one to lower your interest rates. One of their reps is name Chad and another Jaime (male). I call them as many times as I can and always enjoy cussing at them or calling them [***]. Trust me they will engage you and cuss right back. It is a total scam so there are no rules.

Someone posted that the company behind this is Ambrosia Web Design based in Mesa Arizona. They said the key player is a Chris Ambrosia but his information is well hidden. However they said that they found who they thought is his wife in Mesa - Lynette A Ambrosia and her cell number is 480-507-8801. Caveat I cannot verify this but you have to wonder how man Ambrosias are in Mesa Arizona. It would be nice to find a way to bother these people as much as they have bothered us.

How about $1,500 bucks for starters?? They want you to give them $500 up front before they will even begin to "assist" you. It's ALL A SCAM. The FTC made it ILLEGAL for these fraudsters to charge you a fee BEFORE they got any results.
That doesn't stop them from trying. Broke people are everywhere. They can find victims just by going out to lunch. Legally, they aren't supposed to charge you any money UNTIL they have a WRITTEN agreement from your creditor that is ACCEPTABLE to you. Then they can charge you.
You should NEVER pay one of these fly by night scammers anything, not give them a deposit, not pre-pay an 'attorney' to look the deal over - NOTHING until you have that WRITTEN agreement that is ACCEPTABLE to you. Anything else and they're screwing you.
These card service goobers won't abide by the law because they're too busy yanking dollars out of the hands of all the people they're screwing.
Once you get taken in by ONE of these scammers - you'll be on the list for them all. You'll get calls offering to help you recover money you lost to a previous scammer, nigerian cousins will come out of the woodwork and pigs may fly.
I'm smart enough to know the difference between S#!T and Apple Butter WITHOUT tasting it.

What we need to do is find people who are willing to curse back at them 24 hours a day, pay them just for cursing at these cowards, and then they'll either quit or block you. I'll curse at them for free cause I find these parasites disgusting and cowardly, with no balls. Sometimes I feel ashamed of their parents for giving birth to them. Cowardly freaks doing illegal and bad stuff in the background thinking nobody will find them.

3 things you can do, please pass this on so everyone gets the message.
1.) ignore call entirely. There are apps for android that can assist you with this.
2.)Waste their time, for added effect, you can talk with a low voice, and then when you think their ready to hangup, blow a whistle/air horn. Don't do this unless you have wasted their time though, because this is not as effective as others think. In other words, don't let them get off with just an air horn, make their time be completely wasted, and then give them a nice blast as in the ear as a climax to it all.
3.)Others have reported some success with the SIT tone, that "doo doo doo were sorry your number has been disconnected or no longer in service". I personally have not got this to work yet, but worth trying if others swear by it.
Besides the companies listed, there are many other companies.
