I have also received calls such as these. The lady called family and friends and released personal information about a supposed lawsuit on me. She gave them a false case number for the county I live in (I called the county. No such case exists!!). She also left a 1-888-589-3709 number for me to call. When I did the man answered SS GROUP. Wanted my ss # which I refused to give. When I gave him the case number he then wanted my FULL Name. I told him look up case #, you HAVE my name. When I asked him to send me paperwork to prove this so-called unpaid debt he said 'see you in court'. He then called my uncle and left a threatening message with him and again left personal info on me. What can I do????? They will not send me papers to prove the debt. I told them to go ahead and serve me. They then hung up. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I am getting the same calls from NY - heavy accent speaking 305-760-4534., Will not send me any info that I owe who I owe it to, etc. Want me to pay and then they will end me a receipt. what should I do.,
PAT these are scammers and they cannot touch or hurt you in anyway. they try to intimidate you with the arrest crap and they will never show. dealt with them in the past and just told them they messed with the wrong person and have reported them to the FTC and the FBI and i tell them i know they are scammers!! they did quit calling for awhile, then use different #'s and try the same thing and all i do is laugh at them. its makes them mad, but oh well. dont let them get to you. if they have your current bank account #, then close it and open a new one or just let your bank know what is going on. someday someone will close these fools down for good.
You should call FTC to file a complaint or do it on thier website, and your States Attorney's office as well. They can help. Also call your phone carrier and have them block any and all numbers they are calling from.

Received an e-mail today with an attachment that looks like a payday loan document but dates are wrong. Money was borrowed in Sept. but no payment was due until Nov. and was to come out in two installments two weeks apart. Ive also had calls the last month saying he was a police officer and that my case was in the court somewhere in California> Had my ss# and address but wouldnt tell me how much I owed or to whom. Turning the contact numbers over to the police and others to see if they cant do something about them.

I have been getting calls at work from someone named Richard Lewis. He wanted to speak to me or my administrator. He was sent to voicemail where he never left a message. Two days later he calls and tells teh ladis in the office that he is serving me papers and will be here in 30 minutes. I am a school teacher and these kinds of calls can get me fired. This Richard Lewis left a number for TD Company and a case number. I call and the guy is rude to me and says his company isn't calling me. Said he tried to send a letter in August and since it didn't come back then it must have been received by me. He said that I took out a loan from BMG payday loans online. I have taken loans out in the past but I never had more than three and I have paid three loans in full....years ago. I have never even heard of BMG. He said he bought my loan from them and if I didn't take the loan out then I could bring my paperwork to court and prove it wasn't me. He has the last 4 numbers of my social (typical...they always do) and bank information, my family members names that I always use as references and the school I worked at 7 years ago. When I asked him for the original paperwork that shows where I agreed to pay the loan to the original creditor and proof that he can collect on the loan, he said he doesn't have to send that.
These types of calls have been going on for years. They change their phone numbers every few months and start again. Now it has changed because they are constantly calling my job. I am SICK of it.

I have been getting calls several times a day on my cell phone and at work from a guy who has a very heavy indian accent. He tells me his name is curtis jackson, then its justin jones, then its erik williams. Anyway he is threating me telling me I am going to be prosecuted for a payday loan that I didn't pay back. Which is completely false! He was screaming at me and telling me to shut up. He won't give me any info on the company he works for or anything and tells me that I will be going to court about this and good luck as the situation unfolds on me. So I looked up his number and its in delray beach florida. I called my local police because in florida doing what he did is considered stalking and can be a felony with up to 5 years in prison. So they are going to investigate this. I am also hiring an attorney to find out who this guy is and I am taking him to civil court for mental and emotional stress he has caused on me and so many others I have seen on these forums. I am pretty sure its the same guy. when I told him I was calling the cops he said "I have the cops in my pocket"! well anyway, he needs to be held accountable for this.
This same person is doing this to me as well. I just filed a police report yesterday on him. Its considered stalking and can be a felony with up to 5 yrs in prison. Don't worry there are things you can do. this is one of the things. I am also going to hire an attorney to take him to court to sue him for mental and emotional stress. Hope this helps.
These calls are not just coming from India. They have people from here working for them now. I used to get calls from peoople with heavy accents but now they sound American.

I received a call from 707 508 4024. A woman by the name of Jennie Jones (yeah right) said I had taken out a loan and would be served at 11:00 when they come to my job to arrest me. I tried to explain to the lady that I had not taken out any loan and she proceeded to over talk me and then she hung up. I called back and she said she hung up on me. I tried to ask who the company was or how much the loan was for, she just said I would get the papers tomorrow when they came to my job to arrest me. I knew something was not right after I tried to call the number back and no one answered. I applied for 1 loan online and was denied. I didn't pursue it any further. Thanks for the tips. I know what to do now. Oh yeah, she stated that she was not talking about the loan I just tried to take out a month ago. Well that was the only loan I had ever tried to take out. Thanks everyone.
You really don't know what you are talking about, because I applied for one loan and was denied, so no I won't pay back something I never had. True some people do take out loans, but this is a scam that is going on. Just saying...
I am having the same problem. The company Think Cash sold a note to a alleged company called Cross Point Associates. I never took a loan with Think Cash I tried to but the loan was denied. Take too long to explain the whole story but here are the high points. Cross Point calls me six months ago threating law suit and fraud charges if I do not pay them. I argue with them with points like contract copies and a copy of the proof of payment of the loan to me. The Cross Pont guy gets so mad and frustrated he tells me I harassing him and he is going to report me law enforcement. That is funny I am harassing the collection agency. Also he told me he was sending someone by house to serve me legal paperwork. Nobody showed up! Six Months later which was yesterday 04/25/2012 I get a call at 8:12am in the morning. Same guy from six months ago playing nice nice, He states he has legal documents to deliver to me for a court appearance on a pending law suit. I ask what law suit may that be? He states "I am not allowed to discuss that you have to call cross point directly and discuss it with them, I will be at your home on the 26th between 11am and 2pm and if you are not at home I will go to your work!" So I call cross point again because remember I am harassing them it’s my job. Crosspoint associate John answers the phone same story from six months ago claiming I owe them money and if I do not pay them they are going to sue me and make my life miserable. After arguing with the politician for 20minutes John says well I cannot discuss disputes we will handle this in court!" So there alleged process server tells me to contact them yet John is not allowed to discuss it. I checked in to the alleged process server that is delivering my alleged summons and he does not have a process server license on file and the department of Industry has never hear of him. So it will be very interesting to see if he shows up tomorrow. The other thing Cross Point kept arguing about was statute of limitations they claim I have a written contact yet even it this loan was real it was a payment plan generated from over the internet. So that would make it a interest bearing payment plan which means Statue of Limitations for law suit is three years and this claim is almost five years old. Cross Point insists they have six years. So bottom line is these people are taking applications from a loan style website generating fake loans from them and then trying to collect on them like they are 100 percent real. Why isn't one of these government agencies that we all pay unreal amounts of money to, doing something about these scam artists?

Got a delinquency notice in my email today demanding immediate payment for almost double a loan I took out 3 weeks ago, because it is seriously past due. Freaked me out! Called the bank and the one and only payment was taken out on the day it was supposed to be and for the correct amount. Then I called the original company and spoke with customer service. Asked the gentleman on the phone if anything was wrong with my account. Told me no that it was current and in excellent standing. I covered some more information with him about what prompted the call. He then gave me the number to their fraud department. They have all the information now, copy of the letter sent to me and other information. The man even called my work and left a message for me or my attorney to call him immediately. The company secretary took down all his information and then googled the number (John Walter @ 760-269-4211 w/ Federal Legislation Department of Consumer Affairs). When she sent the email with the information in it she said she suspected it was a scam. They have been calling my home phone and leaving at least one message a day. The number on the letter they sent was 305-760-4534 and for a Karen Smith. I hope these people get caught!
OMG-They keep calling me too-from Texas-they even took money out of my Bank of America acct.I still owe $66.07 to the bank.I refused to pay the bank because they said i owe them $100 for them having to freeze my acct.I only had $34.93 in my account.I am wondering now if the bank is working with these people in order to make extra cash-i can't believe this!!!I just put Payday loan scam in and i found you guys!!!I am contacting the police again-this is messed up!!!
