Pay day loan debt scam
- MzFish replies to LynnHi Lynn,
Input that number in the search box and you'll see another post. Please put your experience there to help others who get calls from this number. It seems to be new. Read above posts and do not attempt to call them back. They are scammers using multiple disposable cell numbers as are much harder to trace. Don't answer calls you do not know and/or get a call blocker. If they can't reach you, they can't attempt to scam you.
Thanks - Subnet0 replies to Ginger| 3 repliesYou better subscribe to Experian's anti-ID theft service
- chainsaw gene replies to Subnet0A credit freeze works better, cost less than their service, 3 to 10 bucks per credit reporting agency depending on your state. The credit reporting agency's don't like it because they can't sell your info anymore and try to convince you that it would be unnecessary. check out clarkhoward.com
- Subnet0 replies to RabidSquirrelI've dialed all the numbers posted including yours and apparently all have been abandoned. None answer.

Experian Hit With Class Action Over ID Theft Service
Big-three credit bureau Experian is the target of a class-action lawsuit just filed in California. The suit alleges that Experian negligently violated consumer protection laws when it failed to detect for nearly 10 months that a customer of its data broker subsidiary was a scammer who ran a criminal service that resold consumer data to identity thieves.
... etc. - chainsaw gene replies to William in PortLSomebody needs to do prison time as far as I'm concern, if not stood up against a wall and shot at sunrise, Like their CEO and his/her/its staff. Just might get the point across to others real quick.
- Angie| 1 replyReceived several phone calls and messages from someone who described herself as a "locator". She advised that I "have been notified" and to call this number: 855-203-2142. She then called my SON who is 14 and threatened the same thing about me to him! I received a call today from 865-264-2305 and took down the information. I then called the number 855-203-2142 and provided the "case number" I was given and was told that I have several felony charges against me for fraud/writing bad check, etc in regards to an old payday loan (I haven't had a payday loan in at least 8 or 9 years!). I asked for verification from this "said debt" and was told they didn't have anything. I asked for the original date of this "loan" that I supposedly had taken out and they could not provide anything. All they had was the charge off date and amount. I was told that if I didn't cooperate that I would then face fines, and have to hire an attorney at the cost of $3,000 out of my pocket. I asked for information of the company that I was speaking to and all she would tell me is that the name of the company is Coastal Processing. I advised that I believed this was a scam and would be looking them up and filing complaints.
- WolfmanJack replies to AngieThank you for posting in the number threads, although the one is empty. It would be helpful for you to post there as well since anyone coming to that thread will not know that it is being used by criminals. I have also post information that would be useful at those threads. I found 2 suspect outfits by that name, one in California that allegedly offers loans but their web site tells nothing other than company name and location. There is also a Coastal Capital processing in hamburg, NY know haven for criminal debt collectors.

GA, USA Is the number I keep getting called from. Saying the say thing everyone one is saying. The difference is these people did not have accents but insisted I pay immediately by check by phone one a Walmart kiosk. They did not have current bank or email information. The information they had was over 10 years old but saying my debt was from 2013. They sound legit but won't send any papers and insist on payment today. That didn't happen. I can see how it shakes people up tho. - sickandtired| 4 repliesor how about you jerks stop taking out loans and not pay them back then you don't have to worry about calls
- TheHolyHandGrenade replies to sickandtired| 1 replyWho's taking out loans and not paying them back?
How about you scambags quit buying and selling databases with info and trying to extort money from non-existing/zombie debts? You are nothing but a criminal. - not Michael replies to sickandtiredNo one here is suggesting that anyone not repay a real loan. But there are scammers out there who will invent fake loans and call random victims demanding immediate payment, backing up that demand with threats of jail time.
Under US law if someone calls you trying to get you to pay a debt you have the right to make the caller prove that you owe the money. The caller must put the information on paper and have it sent to the debtor by US Mail. The debtor does not have to pay until the creditor proves the debt is real.
sickandtired is one of the scammers. - Tamianth replies to sickandtiredNo one has a problem paying real legitimate bills. However, no one should ever pay a professional deadbeat extortion scamming fraud with a made up debt! No one owes them a living just because they are too lazy to hold a real job, all they are owed is a 10 x 10 jail cell! Suck it up powder puff! Your just another professional deadbeat troll!
- WolfmanJack replies to TheHolyHandGrenade"Who's taking out loans and not paying them back?" sickandtired is.
