- NancyI am not sure what this caller is about. He friended me on Face Book. Calls himself on his page as Newman Joe. A sergeant in the US Army from Austin Texas. Says he is stationed in Baghdad Afghanistan. And that his birthday was March 30. And he turned 50. He has texted my cell and called it twice. Vowing his undying love for me. I have played along for almost 2 1/2 months now. This is now April 16, 2014. The phone number he is texting from is +1-256-346-5440. He just goes on about his undying love for me. Is a strange occurance!!! I have papers from attorney generals office. Been getting him to trust me as much as can trying to get more info from him. Is the strangest scammer I have ever encountered. He keeps on about loving and spending life togeter. Wants to get back from Afghanistan and wants to get to know each other and get married. He knows I have no money but that does not seem to be tbe
- Elizabeth| 1 replyI got a message from a friend at work. She said this Richard Riley said to call him. Ok I didn't think nothing about it so I called back. And it was a payday loan from Texas I don't live there. I don't even need a pay day loan. But anyways I said I don't know what you are talking about and she said u need to get a lawyer and you can find out in court and your going to jail. And she hang up. Well I called back and I said I don't understand can you explain this to me. And she said elizabeth you are not listening to me. I said ok talk then. And she said I already talked to you so why are you calling and bothering me. I said excise me you are the one calling my phone every 5 mins. And she hung up. So I called a lawyer and explain it to him he said he will take care of it for me.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - mellissa| 1 replyIkeep geting this call from a collector telling me that they are going to press charges against my idenity for a payday loan from sagamore online i have never heard of this payday loan place. - help352| 4 repliesHave anyone got a call from this number 7704506294 who are these people are they legal
- Elspeth replies to help352| 3 repliesDoubtful. http://www.whitepages.com/phone/1-770-450-6294 states that:
1-770-450-6294
Level3 VoIP in Barnesville, GA
Meaning, it could be anyone. You should post your comment in the number thread - hyperlink here - https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-770-450-6294 - that way, others who receive a call from this number can get a clearer picture of who's calling. There are a couple of posts already there, and it looks like the owner of that number may be operating a scam outfit, calling people and telling them there are "charges" against them. - daham replies to Elspeth| 2 repliesyes igot a call from this number770-450-6294,saying that i have charges against me,its funny that the call was made to my fathers work cell fone and they left a message something about patterson,so is this a scam?
- Tamianth replies to dahamRed flags:
Threatening arrest and/or criminal charges, wanting to cut a deal for a lessor amount and wanting you to pay with a green dot or similar method that is untraceable.
Debt is a civil matter, not criminal and you can't be arrested for owing a debt. And yes, it appears to be a scam op. - CelticDragon replies to dahamhttps://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-770-450-6294 There's one other post but it's not very helpful.
- Ayperos5239I paid off a payday loan and not one month later I get a call telling me i owe for the same loan. I ask them why, since i've already paid and the lady says. "Oh right, that JUST came in, good day." lol
- melissa replies to georgia fultonYes, they have all of our info. Once u put in your info in cyberspace then it's like we kinda trust that it falls in the hands of these kind of criminals . This happened too me. I applied for an internet loan and the next this ya know, I was getting calls from 421.number every few minutes. They even called on Sunday night. Well, I just found out that tried to open a 8000.00 loan from one main financial. When the lady called me mon morning to ask me was I still interested in a8000.00 loan I told her I never applied at no OneMain Financial, she told me that she received a someone applied for a loan from a source called www.rev.nos.net I t told her that it wasn't me she said she was about to put afraud alert out for they company. So, people be aware. These cross country people want u to apply for a internet loan but they really get s the loan. No u.
- former check systems employeeI worked at check systems for over a year . owner joe bella vp aubree Murphy and general manager lou shaw created some accounts called loan.com and told their collectors they were real accounts, but once we began calling people we found out that they were old accounts that were already paid off under a dif name or loans that people never got . this scum of the earth was just taken down a few days ago by the FBI and the attorney general . they made millions scaming people the whole while telling their employees they were real accounts. None of us received our last check and he is out riding around in his $70,000 infinity truck laughing like everything is ok but one thing I know all three of them will look good in a orange jump suite
- former check systems employeeIf you were scammed by check systems or joe bellas other company he tried to sign over to lou shaw a few months ago called e capital call him his cell ph # is 716-310-6664 and tell him you want your money back
